Getting to The Core

Advantages: Good for killing spare time
Disadvantages: Scientifically flawed, weak film generally

...Always keen to see a good movie, and always open to a new (or not so new) disaster film, when I saw that The Core was showing on one of the movie channels, and read the little description about it, I decided to put it on. Put simply, as the story is about the Core stopping spinning, I was curious as to how this could happen and ideas about what effects it would actually have should it ever happen. Story The Science Bit At the centre of the earth, around the solid iron core, is a liquid, moving rapidly and keeping energy going that powers the electro-magnetic field around the earth, apparently. For some reason, not initially known in the film, there is a slow-down in the movement of this liquid - and so the core of the earth threatens to stop spinning. This would apparently cause the electro-magnetic field to go crazy then...

Rotten to the Core

Advantages: Tastes like sick?

...I really like trying new ciders. It started when I discovered my love for Magners, and since then, I have tried as many different ciders as possible. If I ever see one sat on the shelf in Tesco, or on tap at the pub then I try it. Some of the time, this means I find a shitty horrible dry cider, like Savana Dry, most of the time, I find one that is passable, and not unpleasant. Occasionally however, I find something amazing, like Scrumpy. So, when I saw that WKD were releasing their own Cider, known as WKD Apple Core cider, I thought it was my duty to try it. Knowing the ghastly sweetness of normal WKD, which is fine as a quick down, but not worth drinking normally, I did not expect anything amazing. Advantages: Entertaining time-waster
Disadvantages: Not really likely to happen, is it?

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

WKD Core Apple Cider

Advantages: Refreshing, tasty, not too artificial!

WKD Core Apple Cider I first heard of this on a billboard at the side of the road, even from just seeing the advert I wanted to try the drink, as I quite like WKD the alcopop variety, although it tastes artificial and sugary, I like it. So when I saw this advert I was looking for it everywhere I went. The problem I had was actually locating it in the shops. Everytime I went to Tesco and Asda I looked on the shelves but could never find it, either in the alcopop part or cider part. But then after a couple of weeks, I went to a little pub down the road and they sold it and I finally got to taste it. Core, what a Crisis!

Advantages: Very pretty game. Unique aspects

Does the "Power Core" make any difference?

Advantages: Slightly colours water, foams, provides a slight fragrance
Disadvantages: Not anywhere near as good as I expected, does it prevent limescale? I'm not so sure!

...I have been trying various products lately to try and get rid of some limescale in my toilet. Now, I am a very clean person and am always cleaning my bathroom but despite using products that claim to prevent limescale build up, I have ended up with a pesky bit at the bottom of my toilet. Not very nice. So I went in search of a product to try and get rid of it. Thankfully I found one (not this particular item) and saw these at the same time, which again claim to prevent 100% of limescale build up. Advantages: if you are after the SF special effects
