Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT

Advantages: ''
Disadvantages: ''

..." (OS10.5) disk since the display model I had bought had the old "Tiger" 10.4.10. Since I work with multimedia and am very impressed with the software delivered with iLife (disk included with the Apple products) I was disappointed to see that most of the items which are of use, do not work using Leopard. So I returned to the older Tiger and this is the system that I am presently testing. With only 1GB of memory I believed that the applications may be a little slow but actually everything seems to be operating as usual. My old Titanium runs at 400MHz and so with the present speed of 2.16GHz I expected an increase in speed but should have known that there would be no change. Software takes just as long to start up, close down and granted I can run several enormous programs parallel, nothing actually is any faster. Points of comment 1...

Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz - 13.3" TFT - excellent!

Advantages: portable, runs very fast, large storage with TimeMachine application for backing up your work
Disadvantages: some problems with using Safari, though this may be due to the wireless network I am using, costs!

...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory. The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari. My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it! It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size. Another feature I particularly liked was that it has a light up keyboard for when you are in darker rooms - you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard the same as you can for the screen. Looks very impressive! It is...

Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz - 13.3" TFT

Old design hides great new features

Advantages: Huge, High res display. Very quick, great processor, ram, high capacity HDD
Disadvantages: No unibody design, some features only available on SMALLER model, Still no Blu-Ray

...unibody machines). It is, as it's name implies, designed around the large, 17" display. The whole machine is only slightly larger than the display itself, approximately 1/4 of an inch larger on the left and right side, and 1/2 of an inch larger on the top and bottom. The computer is a shade less than an inch thick when closed, and around about 3 KG. It is a large laptop, but is about the thinest and lightest large screen laptop available. It's specs are impressive, what you expect from a top end mac, a dual core 2.5GHz processor, large 320GB hard disc, 4GB ram as standard and NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory make this a powerful road warrior laptop. It includes most of the additional features you find on high end computers too. 802.11 B/G/N wireless networking, gigabit ethernet, bluetooth 2.1 EDR...

best dual core processor in mobile computing

Advantages: fast speed
Disadvantages: a little much on cost

...i bought my notebook last year with this mobile computing high end dual core processor with enhanced battery power .this is the best dual core mobile processor with very fast processing speed and also very less power consumption. it has 4mb of l2 cache which is quite bigger and very rich in utility the heat production is not much high as compared to other mobile processors built on 65 nano meter platform. it can work in the speed step technology giving you the option to work it in the undervolt condition by the operating system or even by some softwares like right mark cpu utility by which you can even overclock the processor for high performance it works very great and flexibely under the undervolt and overclock options to give you all kind of performances and in my fujitsu esprimo this processor just makes it very easy...

Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT

Advantages: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS
Disadvantages: Power/Sleep light missing

...Duration of ownership:2 Weeks Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing Overall Evaluation:I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, it is an impressive array of features. About the only peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price.Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac....

MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz

Advantages: Powerful, Easy to use Software. Not Windows.
Disadvantages: None, honestly.

...This is my first Mac and to say I am amazed is an understatement, this laptop is simply the bomb, everything you could wish for, Fast, Cool and very nice to look at. It has a lighted keyboard making working in low light conditions a breeze. It has 2 USB ports , a FireWire 400 and 800 port and a DVI Port for the best connectivity possible by current standards. The included software is superb, the Magnetic Power Connector is nice and makes using it near animals or small children no problem, if the brush past it, it simply pulls out without risk of knocking the laptop off. This is the Core 2 Duo version of the MacBook Pro that is Cooler and Slightly faster than the Previous model, the other major differences between this and the older models is the Cache 4 Meg vs 2meg and the addition of 128 Bit SSE making this equal to greater than...

The Happy Maccy Chappy

Advantages: High speed, gorgeous, and easy to use
Disadvantages: Price, operating temperature

...sections that will help you make an informed decision before buying, to illustrate the various aspects of the laptop which you might like. The Specifications The model I have has a 15.4" screen with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM and a 200GB hard drive. They're lovely numbers aren't they? Manufacturers use these numbers in an attempt to impress you, to make you part with more money than necessary. I tell you this because Apple try to "screw you over" somewhat, as they offer three different models of the MBP. Let me explain. There are two versions of the 15.4" model, the second one having a 2.5GHz processor and a 250GB hard drive. The other difference you might notice if you look closely is that the processor cache size is 6MB not 3MB. Six is a bigger number than three, so the smaller one must be rubbish! This...

Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT

Ideal for photographers!

Advantages: Fantastic screen for working on images. Love the aluminum case.
Disadvantages: Gets hot. Lacks a slot for memory cards.

...plastic, is that I have dropped mine several times resulting only in dents. Had this laptop been plastic, I would have had to throw it away by now. I have 2GB ram in mine, and it very confidently runs as many apps as I wish to have open at one time, including Photoshop CS2, with absolutely no problems. Another quick thing to mention, is that my PC used to crash several times a day. My MacBook Pro has only crashed a few times in it's entire two year lifetime. I'm so happy with my first apple computer product that it has persuaded me to drop several thousand pounds on a desktop machine - they must be getting something right! The only thing it is really missing, is a built in slot for memory cards into the case, or even space to insert a card to allow this functionality. If it had this, it would be an absolutely perfect machine....
