...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. Fantastic Cheap Laptop

Advantages: Fantastic value for money, easy to use
Disadvantages: Takes a while to load up, poor battery run time

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750/ 2.66ghz

Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache
Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more

Usually i can run a defragmentation and notice it hardly at all i can play games and play music with no problem it just makes desktop computing so easy. Advantages: Very Fast, good overclocker

At a stock speed of 3.16 Ghz, it is already fast enough to accomedate most user's need, but if people want to push it further, then thats not a problem for this. I bought the processor at the beginning of last year, and what a great purchase it was. After updating my Bios on the motherboard to support the 45nm processor, it was set and ready to go. ...on the chunky size! However when you pick this up you can really feel how thin it is, however this doesn't mean its flimsy, and its actually really good build quality. Its weight is 2.8 kg, which isn't heavy but to say its quite a small laptop, this shows you how well built it is, and acer have put a lot of effort into it durability. When I first got to use one of these, I noticed how quickly it started up, this is probably due to its great 2 gb of built in ram. This can even be upgraded to a massive 4 gb if needed. This laptop also has a Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 which makes the laptop run really fast. During start up of the laptop, there was quite a bit of fan noise whilst turning on, however you would expect that on a laptop. ...gb, which is surprising that this laptop could take this much ram. If it was me id probably put at least another 1gb into this laptop to get it running things a little quicker. In terms of hard drive space, I don't really think 120 gb will be a problem for anyone, especially since as I said most people will probably just be doing typing work on this laptop when on the move. As with the asus and song vaio though the processor isn't that good, with this laptop though its just like a normal laptop shrunk down into a smaller body, it seems they have got a good performance level at 1.6 Ghz speeds balanced out just right with the incredible 6 hours of battery life that this laptop has to offer. Advantages: portable, runs very fast, large storage with TimeMachine application for backing up your work
Disadvantages: some problems with using Safari, though this may be due to the wireless network I am using, costs!

...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory. The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari. My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it! It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size. Another feature I particularly liked was that it has a light up keyboard for when you are in darker rooms - you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard the same as you can for the screen.
