Corinthia Towers 5* Hotel in Prague

Advantages: Good location, great pool
Disadvantages: Expensive in the hotel, no tea making facilities in room

...Corinthia Towers, Prague We stayed in the 5* Corinthia Towers Hotel in Prague last year and although we had a lovely time, I do have mixed feelings on the place. My husband and I needed to book a hotel in Prague as we were going there for a wedding. We scoured the internet for deals on hotels and after hours and hours and looking at endless deals and reading reviews we decided to book one of Lastminute.com's "Top Secret Hotels". Now I am always wary of booking somewhere and not knowing the name of the place, but we did do our homework. As the hotel was a 5* there were less hotels that it could actually be, so we compared all of the details and worked out which hotel it was before we booked. A slight risk, but we were right and it saved us about £100.00. So we stayed at the Corinthia Towers Hotel for 5 nights...

Another one bites the dust...

Advantages: Leaves room for something bigger, better...
Disadvantages: Rebuilding work will have aknock-on effect for those staying in the environs.

Review of Corinthia Jerma Palace Hotel, Marsascala

Definitely not worth four stars!

Advantages: Good swimming pool, rooms very clean, air conditioning
Disadvantages: Location, reception staff, hidden costs.

...The Corinthia Atlantic Hotel in Banjul is advertised as a four star hotel but I would not rate it at above 3 stars. It is located right on the beach as many of the hotels are in Gambia - be aware that this is a man made beach that will apparently disappear into the sea in the next 20 years unless they build a new one! The hotel has over 200 rooms and 4 suites so I can imagine that it can get very busy in the peak season months. We visited in August which is low season - due to it being "wet season". Indeed we were very lucky with the weather it was hot and sunny most days but there were a couple of amazing thunderstorms. We booked our hotel through the Gambia Experience on Expedia as 4* allocated on arrival and here is the first gripe -all 4* allocated on arrival bookings go to the Corinthia Atlantic so there is no chance that...

Great location, and fantastic sea views

Advantages: Lots of facilities, spacious room, friendly and helpful staff
Disadvantages: Some areas are closed in the off season, the walk to bars and restaurants can be a stretch

...First of all, some information about the hotel: This hotel is actually 5*. The hotel is located at St. George's Bay, St. Julians, and every room has a balcony that overlooks the bay. A small sandy beach is nearby, but I should imagine that this gets packed during the summer months. The location is perfect for shopping, bars, and bistros, but you do have to walk a bit further for the nicer restaurants. Most evenings we walked to Spinola point, where the views at night are very pretty. The hotel forms part of the Corinthia Beach Resort, which includes the five star Corinthia San Gorg Hotel, so there are plenty of facilities. I think I counted 4 swimming pools, plus lots of sun decks. There is also a Spa, but I didn't venture in. There are several restaurants to choose from, though the outdoor snack places were closed...

Happy days in Banjul

Advantages: Quiet location
Disadvantages: No nightlife outside hotel

...Having decided on The Gambia for our winter sun holiday, we chose the Corinthia Atlantic Hotel in Banjul for its location away from the more crowded beach resorts along the Atlantic coast in spite of some rather negative reviews we had read. First impression was one of drab brown, beige and dark corridors and a similarly dated room with cigarette burned curtains sagging from missing curtain hooks, brown bedspreads and brown floor tiles. Everywhere was dark from too small energy saving light bulbs. The bathroom was rather dated, and evidently the Gambians are not great at tiling and grouting. However, having said that, the overall atmosphere at the hotel was friendly and easygoing, it was spotlessly clean, and after a day we never noticed any of it again. Would not return worse hotel I have been to

Advantages: Location was OK
Disadvantages: Filthy, run down - needs to be taken from the brochures

...In my opinion the only thing going for this hotel was the location. We went for 10 nights Christmas 2008 I had booked the Corinthia Atlantic but changed a week before we were due to go. Worse mistake ever. Upon arrival the hotel was extreamly basic like expected well worse really- I know its The Gamia but all the other hotels seemed much better. Our first room was filthy all the plug sockets were hanging from the wall and the place smelt really bad. I had paid for a superior room and was told this was superior. We eventually moved rooms to one where the paint was at least one colour on the walls but it was still filthy. Towels varied from pink to grey to stained to unusable. Breakfast was always no bread, no cups. Bumsters hand around too. If you want real Gambia its all quiet real - you dont need to stay in a dirty hotel. I...
