...The Corrs - Talk on Corners
The Corrs are a band who hail from Ireland. They are made up of four siblings, Jim and his three sisters, Andrea, Sharon and Caroline. I think they have a really unique sound with beautiful beautiful voices. I would describe their music and folk based with lots of meaningful lyrics. They also have quite an Irish based sound as well, on a lot of their songs there is a background Irish rythm which is what I think makes them quite a different type of mainstream band.
What I also love about them is that they all can actually play instruments and to me that is a sing of a true musician and band. They include a lot of different sounds in their songs and I really think this adds depth. For example, some of the instruments they play include the tin whistle, violin, drums, guitar and keyboard. I think it also helps...
...Honeymoon at Hedgehog Corner
Background
In my third or fourth review I had read a book called 'The Dinosaur Hunters'. In this review I told you (partly because of this book) we would be visiting Lyme Regis and the Natural History Museum on our honeymoon
The area of Lyme Regis was beautiful, we walked to The Cobb and after a couple of hours on the beach fossil hunting and grinning at 2p machines, I bought one from The Fossil Shop for £3.
Setting
I chose this place from internet searches of Lyme Regis on the internet. It was the first place I saw that looked like a true honeymoon destination. This is the only place we booked out of eight places we stayed in for our honeymoon. I called to ask of The Retreat was available when we wanted to book. It was and I booked it out for a reasonable, yet pricey £90 a night. More than we...
Advantages: Tastes divine Disadvantages: You'll want another
...Just last week I discovered my latest addiction when my boyfriend came back from the shop with a NEW Sticky Toffee Pudding Corner from Muller. Since then I’ve eaten several of these delights, eventually I’ll overdose and go on to something else but before that happens I’ll share with you a very tasty experience!
No doubt many of you have heard of Muller, a German company, manufacturer of yoghurt pot desserts. I can remember when Muller first came on the market in the UK and recall ‘Muller Rice’ and ‘Muller Light’ and then along came yoghurt with a difference, the ‘Fruit Corner’ yoghurt. This was innovation, little pots of yoghurt with a separate helping of fruit, you could mix them together or eat them separately and there were just so many different ones to choose from. As...
Advantages: Healthy, natural ingredients, satisfying, tastes gorgeous, cheap, good source of calcium Disadvantages: People may not like the cherry fruit pieces in the sauce
...My all time favourite taste is of fruit. Whether it's strawberry, apple, raspberry... Any fruity taste is always a hit with my tastebuds. And that's where this delicious yogurt steps in for me to enjoy - Müller Fruit Corner Red Cherry Yogurt.
Müller is a German dairy company and has produced several different yogurt brands including;
* Müller Corner
* Müllerice
* Müllerlight
* Müller Little Stars
* Müller Vitality
* Müller Amore
Obviously the wonderful little yogurt that I'm reviewing is one of the many Müller Corners. Müller Corners come in three varietes: Fruit, Healthy Balance and Crunch! They're avaliable in a wide range of flavours such as;
* Blackberry & Raspberry
* Blueberry
* Red Cherry
* Peach & Apricot
* Raspberry
* Strawberry
Each Müller Fruit Corner Red Cherry Yogurt weighs in at 175g per pot. They...
Advantages: Nice yoghurt, nice cereal, work well for breakfast Disadvantages: There are sometimes a lot of crumbs in the cereal section
...My culinary skills have yet again been insulted by my nearly three year old daughter. She doesn't hold back on the truth and was not at all hesitant to let me know that she could not possibly eat the pasta which I had prepared for her lunch because it was 'too horrible'. I made her eat another two mouthfuls and then let her off. She asked for a yoghurt instead, which although isn't the most nutritious of lunches, is better than the chocolate and crisps that she usually asks for.
So I went into the fridge and found a six pack of muller corner crunch yoghurts. I had bought them a few days ago in the co-op and they cost me £1.95 which is not too bad for six biggish yoghurts. The same packs can be bought in most supermarkets for the same price, as the price is written on the packaging so I don't think they can change it! They are also...
Advantages: Tasty and convenient snack Disadvantages: No, it's probably not as healthy as a fruit yoghurt
...Getting my Muller Vanilla Choco Balls Crunch corner out of my handbag this morning, and thinking about how I used to have these in my school packed lunches, I realised that I must have been eating these for well over 10 years! I've never been a fan of fruit yoghurts, it's something to do with the fruit lurking lumpily amid the yoghurt I think, so Crunch Corners have remained my yoghurt of choice into adulthood and this one in particular has always been my fave.
The yoghurt pot is the distinctive square shape with the top right corner sectioned off to contain the Choco Balls, the yoghurt being in the main section. (Looking closely at the text I find that the pot shape and 'Corner' notion are actually Muller trademarks; and it's true that there are many pretenders to the crown out there but none can match Muller!) This particular...
Advantages: Creamy yoghurt Disadvantages: Needs more fruit pieces
...I have always liked a yoghurt as a quick and tasty desert after a main meal, I also think yoghurts are great for breakfast or even a snack! I remember when I first had a fruit corner, I was around 10 and the idea of a yoghurt and a separate corner filled with fruit in a syrup, to be added at your convenience was very novel.
Fruit Corners are one of the many dairy products produced by Muller, which was founded in 1896 by Ludwig Muller who owned a very small Bavarian dairy farm, however the hard work put in by Ludwig has paid off, the company now which is run by his grandson Theo made in 2003 over £265 million and employs over 2,400 people. It was in the 1980’s when the spilt pot, fruit corner idea, became such a worldwide success that the company really took off. Now Muller produce many different and exciting dairy products...
Advantages: The best vanilla yogurt ever. Disadvantages: I wish the fruit compote was smooth!
...I'd finished my tea, and due to my huge main course, i wasn't feeling up to my usual pudding, such as sticky toffee pudding or a slice of apple pie. I wanted something light, that would satisfy my sweet tooth. So i ventured over to the fridge, not knowing what to find, my mum had been shopping the previous morning and I was positive the fridge would be bursting full of treats!
I was right. It was bursting full with yogurts and desserts. There was frozen chocolate desserts, chocolate puddings, little fromage frais, mullerlights, and wait...what was that..? A STRAWBERRY MULLER FRUIT CORNER. Wow I had not had one of these in a long while. I had had a couple of crunch corners and some of the newer dessert corners in the past couple of months, but no, i hadn't had a STRAWBERRY FRUIT CORNER in a long while.
I think perhaps it was...
Advantages: taste, great value for money Disadvantages: not enough in one tub!
...For years, ever since I was little I have loved the muller range. I wasn't ever keen on the yoghurts or fruit selections of but the "Crunch Corners" were always delicious. It was first a few months back when I spotted the desert range and decided to give them a try. I myself am an extremely fussy person when it comes to deserts and so the one that caught my eye was the Mississippi mud pie desert. Without giving the others a second look I grabbed one and made my way to the checkout.
The packaging itself is quite typical of a Muller desert. It comes in the usual square tub, which is split, into two triangles, one being larger than the other. The larger of the two stores the yoghurt, the smaller contains the additional helping of chocolate crumble. The cover itself isn't greatly eye-catching but in case you've never seen it before its...
Advantages: a British institution Disadvantages: not as good as it used to be
...Does everybody who uses the words 'Speakers Corner' (from now on SC) know what they're talking about? That this is really a location: the north eastern corner of Hyde Park, near Marble Arch, London, UK?
The words have left the location, aren't only the name of a place any more, they have become a term and are now used worldwide to describe . . . what actually?
Certainly politicians in Singapore hadn't studied the subject closely when they decided to allow a SC on September 1, 2000. According to Reuters news agency: "The Singapore government announced it would launch the forum because it wanted greater public involvement, conducted in a 'mature, non-agitated way.'...Speakers must register for a permit and speeches may be recorded by the police . . . The police department said before the corner's opening that uniformed officers...
