Royalty of camp sites!
Advantages: Gorgeous place, quiet, clean and friendly.
Disadvantages: The walk to the toilet!
...with a reception and shop in one as well as a toilet and shower block and other facilities next to it. We went in and found out about where to pitch up and how things worked. The woman working at the time was helpful and friendly.
The site is in three sections, two of which are caravan pitches, the orchard and the oaks. Where we would be is the tent area known as the meadow. We drove down to what we had...

Review of Pencelli Castle Camp Site

Fangfoss Camp Site - One to avoid.
Advantages: Close to York and handy for park and ride
Disadvantages: Dirty, expensive
...Location
Fangfoss camp site is located just outside York, to the east just off the A1079. The nearest village is Pocklington, which is about 4 miles away, and it?s about 10 minutes from the York park and ride car parks, which are about 10-15 minutes from York.
Facilities
The park has 75 pitches on hard or grass bases for caravans and tents, all of the pitches have electric hook...

Cold comfort camping
Advantages: Very few!
Disadvantages: Expensive, unfriendly, no extras
...The enduring popularity of St Ives means that it is difficult to find any type of accommodation in peak season, even a pitch on a camp site. We usually pick one of the many campsites a couple of miles inland from the town, and on this occasion picked the Balnoon Camp Site because of the possibility of being able to walk a couple of miles along the cliffs into the town and avoid the parking...
