...///// Intro ///// The first time I went to the Costa Blanca was in 1997 on my honeymoon.I stayed at Javea in a villa with its own pool.The first thing I noticed was that when we drove from Alicante upto Javea,how the scenery changed so much.I found the scenery dry and not very interesting around Alicante right upto Benidorm.Its only after passing Benidorm that the scenery really becomes breath taking. ///// Javea ///// Javea was stunning.It is full of orange trees that fill the air with the gorgeous scents of blossom in spring.I found the beach at Javea clean and very pleasant and the weather in July was perfect,around 30c most days.Costa Blanca has a perfect climate and temperatures rarely go below 16c.Even in December temps can be around 18-20c.I went in December and it was so warm I used the beach.It was around 22c most days...

The White Coast

Advantages: nice coast with lovely countryside
Disadvantages: Urbanizaciones taking over, month of August to avoid

  A taste of Spain

Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community

It is quite a contrast compared to Albir by the way...Benidorm looks like the Manhattan of Costa Blanca with all the tall concrete buildings. Benidorm has a long sandy beach where you can rent a sun bed and a parasol. Along the beach you?ll find plenty of bars and restaurants and lots and lots of shops selling all sorts of junk :-) It was pretty easy to get from Albir to Benidorm even without a car?bus number 10 seemed to run between the two places pretty often. Something for Everyone

Advantages: Something for everyone, parts untouched by tourism.
Disadvantages: N/A

...I have family who live on the Costa Blanca and have visited there many times. What I love about the area is the range of different places to visit, some of which offer tourist attractions and others are very traditional and almost untouched by European holiday makers. The Costa Blanca became a popular holiday destination in the 1980's when package holidays became very popular. Although package holidays aren't so appealing any more, the Costa Blanca sees millions of visitors each year. Alicante is the main city on the Costa Blanca, those who visit the area would usually fly to there airport. They managed to deal with 7million new visitors last year, a target that was set for 2010 by the Spanish tourist board. Alicante itself is a nice city to visit, it has many historical features to visit. It also has a great shopping area too...

SUN SAND SEA SURF AND SARDINES

Advantages: peaceful, beautiful, unspoilt, cheap the list can go on

Home from home

Advantages: Fun in the sun for all the family

...My parents decided to up and leave to live in the Costa Blanca when i was 18, that was nearly 7 years ago now. At the time I was not ready to leave all of my friends and girlfriend, but 7 years on i would love to do the same thing with my fiancee! My parents have lived in Javea and Moraira, which are 2 areas within the Costa Blanca, around half an hour North of Benidorm. I will try and cover as much of the sights, sounds and smells of the area in this review, and try to recommend different places where i have had much enjoyment. I'll start with Javea. A GOOD DEED PAID OFF: Alicante Holiday!

Advantages: gorgeous weather, lovely quiet beaches, plenty to do!

...A GOOD DEED PAID OFF: During January my fiancee, who is a network engineer, created a website for his friend in work out of the goodness of his heart! The website was created in order to advertise a villa in Costa Blanca, Spain. My fiancee created a really nice website for him for nothing and it took him few days, well a good deed paid off! His friend liked the website so much and really appreciated it, so we got to stay in the villa for nine days for free in April 2005! Javea: my first taste of spain!

Advantages: Javea= gorgeous, hot, cheap

...You may be surprised to find a 22 year old writing a review of a relatively quiet spanish town rather than a club orientated 18-30 style holiday. This is because much as I do like to drink on my holiday (after all thats what holidays are for!), I also quite like to remember what I've spent a year saving for! So instead of flying off to your typical 18-30 British holiday makers spanish destination, I decided to jet off to Javea, Costa Blanca, Spain. Advantages: Cool, Clean, Plenty of seats in departures, Ideal size.
Disadvantages: Cramped Car Park can be like a Maze!
