Hotel Costa Caleta - Didn't Costa Fortune

Advantages: Modern, Clean, Close to amenities and beach.
Disadvantages: Bored with food, poorly staffed in bars,

...My summer holiday of 2008 was spent in Fuerteventura and my hotel of choice was the Hotel Costa Caleta. The hotel is also known by its former name Hotel Ocean Costa Caleta. Address is Av. Alcalde Juan Ramón Soto Morales Caleta de Fuste Fuerteventura Spain Tel:+34-928547550 I'm not sure if the hotel offers any car parking facilities as I hadn't needed any. It's a 3 star rated hotel and is quite modern and situated quite centrally in the resort of Costa Caleta (or Caleta de Fuste, or Castillo as it is also known) Only a short 10-15 mins transfer time from the airport. It has over 300 rooms. It was built in 2005 so is still quite new. The hotel is only about 5-10 mins walk (5km) from the beach and the shops and parks are all nearby too. They do have internet facilities with 2 PC's in the lobby with pay to use internet...

Caleta Garden: family fun in Fuerteventura!

Advantages: Hotel atmosphere, staff
Disadvantages: Distance from beach

...I stayed at Caleta Garden in the summer of 2004 with my father when I was 16. We arrived in the middle of the night, so had to wait until the morning to get a good feel of the hotel. The transfer was very short, so we were close to the airport which is always good, hot coaches are terrible! We were situated on the second floor of the hotel above the games room, overlooking the pool in the middle of the hotel (it was like apartments around the pool in the middle). It wasn't an amazingly beautiful view, but made getting to the pool in the morning nice and simple! When we entered the room we discovered a cockroach immediately, but aside from that, the room was perfectly clean and had sufficient amenties. It was an apartment, not simply a studio and the only thing missing was air conditioning. The next day before we went to explore...

Monica Beach Hotel, Fuerteventura

Advantages: Great hotel catering for both families and couples
Disadvantages: Don't mention the war :)

...In the past my wife and I have been pretty relaxed about where and how we holiday. We've done all inclusive, B&B, Half Board, City Breaks, Beach Holidays, make it up as we go along etc. However we now have a 5-year-old boy to look after and so our holidays have to be thought through in advance. This year we chose Fuerteventura as our holiday destination and chose the Monica Beach Hotel on the recommendation of our travel agent because of its reputation as a nice family orientated hotel. The trip from Birmingham Airport takes about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. I'm not going to talk about the flight since different airlines will offer a different standard of service. Suffice to say that I travelled with MyTravel and went 'cattle class' :( After meeting other people at the resort we later found that people had travelled from airports as far...

Costa Brava, The Hotel in the Sun,, that Shines

Advantages: Sun Sand Sea and sangria what more can you want
Disadvantages: holiday is never long enough

...Hotel Costa Brava, Tossa De Mar, Situated in the Spanish/ Catalonia region on the Costa Brava The three star Costa Brava hotel in Tossa de Mar is situated approximately 200 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the resort centre. Barcelona is only 48 miles away and easily accessible from the nearby train service, which runs approx every 20 minutes. Tossa itself is full of many small shop, bars, café's and restaurants, there is also a land train service, which runs about every 20 minutes, for a couple of Euros' it will take you all around resort, or jump of at its many stops, there is a large weekly market, for all your bargains and holiday trinkets. A very nice beach is close to, clean, well looked after and plenty of facilities including water sports, and snack bars, all of which is across the main road, but...

fab hotel choice

Advantages: activities, on beach and good all inclusive package
Disadvantages: resort is quiet outside of the hotel

...I stayed in this hotel back in the beginning of November 2006 with my then Fiancé. We had a great time and so I will share my views on this hotel. Location: The hotel is set on the beach in Costa Calma which is one of the quieter resorts in Fuerteventura. It is set back from the road slightly and has a small selection of local shops just around the corner from it. The hotel: The hotel is quite large and is an all inclusive property. It is popular with German tourists and tends to be fully booked throughout the high season with coaches coming and going with guests all day! The large complex is no more than 2 storeys high and as mentioned is set right on the beach. Check in: Check in takes a little while as each person checking in has to be issued with their all inclusive band and then given a little map of the resort so they...

Fuerteventura - Wonderful family destination

Advantages: Great weather all year round. Gentle cooling breeze, lots to do.
Disadvantages: You have to come home!

...I have just returned from a fortnight long holiday on the gorgeous sunny island of Fuerteventura - one of the Canary Islands. I travelled with my 2 children ages 10 and 7yrs old, and we all had a wonderful time. I will try to do some justice to this beautiful island in this review. I travelled there on an all inclusive package deal from Thomas Cook at the end of June, and stayed at a 3* hotel - The Hotel Costa Caleta (which I will review at a later date) During my time there the weather was around 38-42 degrees most days and was only slightly breezy most days. As you can imagine this got a little bit too hot at times and you really had to get yourself out of the heat by jumping in the pools. I would advise plenty of suncream and plenty of non alcohol fluids! We actually had a sun care advisor who advised against using a factor...

Oasis Papagayo Hotel, Fuerteventura

Advantages: Lots to do.
Disadvantages: Quite a walk from town.

...First imressions are great, the hotel reception was very well presented. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The resort has lots to offer, the swimming pools are amazing the thing that got me were size of them! Also they are salt water pools which is much better for the skin! The rooms are very spacious and clean. With kichen, lounge, large bathroom and good size double bedroom. The kicthen has hob, mircowave, toaster, kettle fridge. So you are able to cook decent meals if you want to stay in sometimes. The lougne has TV, DVD player again very handy. Good size belcony with means to dry clothes. On site is a shop so you can stock up on all the bits you need. Overall great resort, plenty to do, good bars, restuarants and entertainment is ok. 9/10...

Cuba Playa Caleta: Hotel and Service from Hell!

Advantages: Could not find any
Disadvantages: A streessful, sickening, waste of time and money

...February 2009. Playa Caleta is rated a 4 star. Sunwing Travel advertises it as a Sunwing Club Exclusive...whatever that means? We would call it the ?Club Torture? The hotel has a spacious, open-concept lobby on two levels. The lobby and the rest of the hotel are filled with cigarette smoke. When we asked the front desk staff if there was any non-smoking public areas, they answered with giggles as they held their lit cigarettes below the counter. This is supposed to be a family hotel; if you or your children can survive the second-hand smoke that saturates everything, you will still have a family. Buses idled right in front of the open hotel entrance, filling the lobby with carbon monoxide. As we discovered, vehicles in Cuba have no exhaust standards. From scooters to buses, they all spew black or blue smoke. ROOM: There are...

Hmm...been to livlier places than this

Advantages: central location & close to airport
Disadvantages: lack of proper adult entertainment, slippy pool side, sunbed reservers with towels!

...stayed in Caleta Gardens room 133 from 19th - 26th December 2007. On arrival the whole area of Caleta De Fuste was flooded as it had rained heavily. The hotel floor was very wet & slippery & most of the apartments electricity had tripped due to water. Anyway, was allocated room 133, slept 3 if required, everything there for self catering puposes including kettle, toaster, cutlery, plates, microwave, cooker, fridge etc etc....so really good in that sense.....even had pet cockroaches & small ants Apartments are cleaned 4 times a week, including fresh towels. TV in room showing some english channels but you will be charged to watch it ?12 + ?5 for deposit for the remote control. Safes are in room, again chargeable per week but bolted down & very secure. Disadvantages: the non smoking policy (for some)

...good as the rest of what the hotel had to offer. (vegetarians catered for). Other activities include archery, shooting, tennis, volleyball, table tennis, aerobic; keep fit and aqua aerobics, bowls and darts. There is also available at an extra cost sports such as sailing, windsurf, water ski, horseback riding and golf. As well as all that for the adults there are tennis lessons and a huge play park for the kids. The hotel is well placed between lots of the attractions torremolinos and the rest of the Costa has to offer, you can catch a coach from virtually right outside the door of the hotel which will take you to any of these local attractions for a very small cost.
