...Boots Basic Cotton Wool is just 48p so is a bargain price for an everyday use product. The packaging is very basic and is a clear bag with the Boots logo & some information on the cotton wool (100% wool) and it tells you the contents of the bag (100 balls). Once I had ripped a hole in the bag I pulled out a couple of bits of cotton wool and was a little disappointed to see that they were quite a bit smaller than other cheap cotton wool balls that I have brought in the past. I use cotton wool for cleansing my face so I applied a little cleanser to a ball and begin wiping it around my face. I did find that because they were so small I had to use a couple pushed together just to get the job done. Advantages: Passable quality, quite soft, low price.
Disadvantages: Little subtle bumpy bits in the cotton. Not really suitable for sensitive delicate skin.

Scrubba Your Face!

Advantages: Drawstring bag, fine for nail polish removal.
Disadvantages: Price, grains in the product, not very soft.

...I use cotton wool for a variety of uses and these ones in particular I have used for cleaning my face of make-up and removing nail polish. There are 100 cotton wool pads in this packet for £1.52 and this is a fairly reasonable price when compared to other similar products but it is definitely not the best product I have encountered for this price and it won't be top of my list in future either. The pads are provided in a plastic sleeve with a draw string top and I tear open a small hole near the top and pull out a couple of pads. They do not come away from each other easily and I have only just realised that these are only a one-sided usage product. ...have also packed some of these to use on trips away from home but when you take them out of the pack they do lose their shape quite quickly and fall apart and it was a case of finding two halves to stick together to make one pad. These do their job but you may want to consider paying a bit more for better quality cotton pads if you use them on a regular basis....
