Rockliffe Hall Luxury Golf & Spa Resort, Durham, UK - save 31%
The five-star Rockliffe Hall Luxury Golf & Spa Resort was voted fifth in Europe and ninth in the world in the TripAdvisorTraveller's Choice Awards....... more
The five-star Rockliffe Hall Luxury Golf & Spa Resort was voted fifth in Europe and ninth in the world in the TripAdvisorTraveller's Choice Awards. High praise indeed, but when you consider that this Darlington country hotel is set in an 18th Century Estate in County Durham with an award-winning spa, three gourmet restaurants, a championship 18 hole golf course and lovely wintery gardens, it's hardly a surprise.Aside from bracing walks in the surrounding countryside, there are plenty of other facilities to tempt you. For starters, The Brasserie is a delight, the cocktail bar is elegant and refined and the Conde Nast Johansens recommended 50,000 square foot spa has its own indoor 20m swimming pool, one of the largest hydrotherapy pools in the country, state-of-the-art fitness centre, sauna, hammam steam room, tepidarium and ice fountain. We're offering a stay in a Tiplady Lodge Double or Twin room, with breakfast in the Orangery and full use of the spa facilities. One of our two-night stay offers also includes a two-course set lunch menu on one day. ... less

County Hall
Advantages: Good price, friendly staff, good location, good meals, quiet
Disadvantages: No wheelchair access at the front
...At the beginning of October 2008 I had to travel to Londn to attend a job interview. I wanted a reasonably priced hotel that was close to my interview location and also that offered good access to some of the London tourist attractions. The Premier Inn County Hall Hotel fit the bill and also delivered so much more.
I caught a taxi from the train station and the first thing that I noticed when...
