Marriott County Hall, London

Advantages: Central location, friendly attentive staff
Disadvantages: expensive drinks

...& parnips and banoffee pie to follow. We found the per head price which included half a bottle of pinot grigio was very reasonable compared to prices here in Scotland. Overall we had no complaints. the only downside was the price of drinks. Two glasses of wine cost almost £15. I would recomend anyone to use this hotel as a base for a weekend away. It is a two minute walk from Westminster tube, right next door to the BA London Eye and central for everything. If you are looking for a romantic weekend then the County Hall is the one for you. There is a spa on site to pamper you (payable directly) Or if you would like a very special wedding or civil partnership then use this hotel. The events team & banqueting manager do everything they can to help and nothing is too much bother. Whatever you do have a brilliant time at this hotel....

County Hall

Advantages: Good price, friendly staff, good location, good meals, quiet
Disadvantages: No wheelchair access at the front

...At the beginning of October 2008 I had to travel to Londn to attend a job interview. I wanted a reasonably priced hotel that was close to my interview location and also that offered good access to some of the London tourist attractions. The Premier Inn County Hall Hotel fit the bill and also delivered so much more. I caught a taxi from the train station and the first thing that I noticed when getting there was that the part of Belvedere Road in which the hotel is situated has barriers at either end so only traffic that has a reason for being there is allowed in...this makes the front of the hotel quieter than most places in London. The building also makes a rather striking impression as it is the listed building which used to hold the GLC. The only problem with this is that the entrance to the hotel is up a short flight of stairs...

My day's at County Hall

Advantages: Location, price for location
Disadvantages: No parking, poor views

...At the end of last year i needed to take a business trip to London with my boss, and the company has an account with premier travel inn. So we were booked in to County Hall for 2 nights. First Impression ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On arriving at the Hotel, the location was great, less than 100 yards from the front entrance was the 'London Eye', and everything else the south bank has to offer. Inside the hotel the atmosphere and decor was pleasant, with a few armchairs in the reception area for the weary traveller. Checking in was easy, and we were given our room cards, which were also needed to be able to use the lifts. You couldn't call a lift without swiping your card. Once entering my room, i was happy enough with the room. It of course was 'No Frills', but it was more than comfortable for my purpose. Room ~~~~~ As i have already...

Buckatree Hall Hotel

Advantages: In a remote scenic area, lots of facilites
Disadvantages: slightly expensive but still worth it

...Buckatree Hall Hotel - Telford Shropshire The hotel stated above is part of the Swallow Hotels chain, not like your average chain hotel this one is stunning my other half and I stayed there a couple of times going back after the first visit as we enjoyed it so much. It is a 2 star hotel but I believe it is well worth of more, it has 62 rooms catering for all needs and being very family friendly, they have single rooms, double rooms and family rooms and where possible will arrange and room to suit your individual needs. Buckatree Hall Hotel is situated just off the M54 in a remote location down a few back roads, it has a peaceful quiet surrounding area which puts you in the mood for your relaxing break away. There are several tourist attractions not far via car journey such as, Telford Shopping Centre, Park, Bowling Ally, Ice...

Risley Hall Hotel, Derby

Advantages: Great Staff, Brilliant Pool and Spa Facilities
Disadvantages: Expensive

...Risley Hall Hotel We won a 2 day spa break away for two last March at Crufts dog show to this hotel, we had never been before so didn't know what to expect it was only 30miles away from where we lived so great for getting there. So last week we booked our break away from the voucher that we were given in our prize package. About Risley Hall Hotel This hotel is part of the Oxford Hotels & Inns chain, Risley Hall is in their Oxford collection which is a group of 25 hotels. Risley Hall is surrounded by 17 acres of land it's an 11th century Saxon country house with 35 bedrooms 16 in the Manor House all unique and another 19 spacious bedrooms in the courtyard which is called the Willoughby Court. Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa

Advantages: Pleasant staff, facilities, closeness to Silverstone
Disadvantages: Remoteness

...I've probably stayed at Whittlebury Hall about twenty times over the past three and a half years when attending work-related courses. (Before reading this review be warned that any of my negative comments about the hotel are probably influenced by the fact that when I've stayed there it's never been for pleasure - the days of boredom I've spent within its walls listening to people talking about IFRS accounting and deferred tax have probably made me more negative than I would otherwise be!) The first view you get of the hotel is magnificent. As you are driven up the long drive you can't help but be impressed by the style of the two-storey building and the grounds that surround it. The reception area as you enter the hotel is also impressive and quite grand looking - the area has very comfortable huge leather couches and a warm...

Keep an eye on County Hall

Advantages: Location and price
Disadvantages: Breakfast not included; views

...The Premier Travel Inn County Hall London is in an ideal location for tourists. It's right next to the London Eye and the Thames as well as being close to the Houses of Parliament and many other attractions. We only stayed one night, but the Premier Inn offered just what we were looking for - a cheap stay but in a clean and good quality room and hotel. Our room cost £86.95 for a Saturday night stay in early October. As well as the bed, the ensuite rooms have a table and easy chairs, space to store your clothes, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. There is also access to ironing facilities. Check-in was easy and checking out was also quick and simple. Although we couldn't get into our room until 2pm, there was no problem with leaving our luggage at the hotel. Breakfast was not included, but was available at extra cost in...

Some of the best view in London...

Advantages: A luxurious hotel in a fantastic position
Disadvantages: very pricey

...I visited this hotel during summer time when my grandparents were visiting London for their 80th birthdays. This was a lovely stay as my grandparents hadn't been to London in years and my grandfather was very keen to ride on the London eye whilst my grandmother was keen for me to find a hotel in which as she phrased it, 'that he will have to dig deep into his pockets for'. She was aiming for nothing less than luxury! Obviously there are a huge number of hotels available in central London but this one had to be special and my grandparents insisted that we all stayed over in a hotel together despite the fact that we were only further down the river in Putney and we therefore needed two rooms, one family room & one twin room for them. Eventually I came across a great deal from The Marriott County hall. We could have our two rooms...

Royal connections but not that luxurious -Durham Marriott hotel

Advantages: Comfortable, convenient for city sight seeing
Disadvantages: luke warm bath water and average food in restaurant

...Durham Marriot Hotel Royal County Old Elvert, Durham DH1 3JN A BIT OF SCENE SETTING: This hotel is part of the Marriott chain but is an old hotel which was once the home of Elizabeth Bowes an ancestor of the Queen Mother. Apparently it was often visited when it was privately owned by Edward VII when he was up in Durham. It has had quite a large series of extensions and now boasts 150 bedrooms, some of which are suites and family rooms all and have en suite bathrooms ( As you might expect in a hotel I would have thought). This is a four star hotel right in the centre of Durham so perfect for a city break as you can park your car in the hotel (complimentary) car park and walk round the city which is very compact and just a hop over the road from the hotel. We booked on the internet and got a special deal for two night?s bed...

Dumbleton Hall - A great place to stay

Advantages: Lovely setting close to many places of interest
Disadvantages: None

...I was recently invited to a wedding that took place at Dumbleton Hall Hotel which is situated on the border between Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. Dumbleton Hall is just off the A6 and a mere 7 miles from Junction 9 of the M5. Dumbleton Hall is an impressive traditional 19th century Manor House. To get to the Hall you drive through a lovely little village then on a little winding road. Sheep are grazing in the fields alongside and they do saunter onto the road itself. The first impression of Dumbleton Hall is that it does look a little spooky - but very impressive and I couldn't wait to get inside and explore... The original Dumbleton Hall can be traced back to around 1534. It was the home of the Cocks family for over 200 years. After the death of Sir Richard Cocks (unfortunate name!) in the late 18th century, the Hall fell...
