Judgement Time at the Courtyard Slough / Windsor

Advantages: Convenient location, no fuss, Marriott standards.
Disadvantages: It's clearly Marriott's poor relation - but not a major "con"!

...I?ve done it yet again! I?ve stayed in Slough. To remind you, Sir john Betjeman wrote: Come Bombs, and fall on Slough, It isn?t fit for humans now! There isn?t grass to graze a cow. Come, friendly bombs Swarm over, death! The bombs have not come, yet. Slough is still standing. And Priceline send me back there time and time again. I accept an element of blame; perhaps I?m growing fond of the place. Perhaps the fact that the ?Legoland? theme park is nearby and that Josh absolutely loves it is a bonus. Whatever! We found ourselves in Slough once again; this time, at the Courtyard by Marriott. It?s officially rated as a 3 star hotel, and I was not exactly enamoured about the idea of staying there (the Slough issue aside) ? so I?ll try to say exactly why I?m wary of three-star hotels. ...I stayed at the Marriott Royal County recently.The hotel is very easy to find. Local shops are only a five minute walk away as are local pubs and restaurants. This hotel also makes a good choice. One problem you might find is trying to find a parking space. This is an ideal location from which to explore Durham. There is an indoor heated pool. The service in the hotel was first class. Advantages: Nice inside

...The Marriott hotel in Waltham abbey is about five minutes down the road from me, and my company had its Christmas party there. Because I live so close I had to argue, but eventually they agreed to book me a room in there fore when I was too drunk to want to get a cab home after!! Because I have always lived near this hotel I have never had any reason to go into it and therefore had no idea what I looked like from the inside. Location and outside appearance The Marriott hotel is right next to the M25 turn off and a few turn offs to other A roads, this means that it is in a location with no ships near by and it is not an easy place to get to (you can't walk to it). Budapest Marriott

Advantages: Beautiful hotel with friendly staff
Disadvantages: none

...In February, I went to Budapest with my parents for a few days. My dad booked the break over the internet (flights and accommodation) so he chose the hotel that we stayed in. Having stayed in a Marriott hotel on a previous holiday, I was not disappointed when he told us that we would be staying in a Marriott in Budapest. What I didn't know until we got there was that we would be staying in a junior suite! (The room was discounted when we stayed so we got a better room for our money! :) The Budapest Marriott is located on the riverside of Pest and had a fantastic view of the river Danube. ...Background We recently spent two nights staying at the Marriott Hotel in Edinburgh. We had booked through the Tesco Clubcard Deals scheme and intended to use the hotel as a base for visiting Edinburgh Zoo and Deep Sea World. Location The hotel is located on the western edge of Edinburgh, on Glasgow Road, a mere two miles from the airport, and only 4 miles from Edinburgh city centre. It has ample free on-site parking and is just off the A8. It is also only 5 minutes walk from the Gyle Shopping Centre. The bus-stops outside the hotel are frequented by a number of buses bound for both the city centre and the airport. The hotel is well located and transfer time from the airport (Hamburg) is under 20 minutes or so with taxi fares also being under 20Euros (£13-£15). The Marriott Experience (Copenhagen)

Advantages: A pleasant place to stay whilst visiting the beautiful

...I was so excited about going to Copenhagen that I never really gave much thought to the hotel because that's my dad's department! He sorts out all our flights and accommodation when we go on holiday (and he always does a good job too!) So when he said we were going to stay in a Marriott hotel, I just trusted his judgement and focused all my excitement on what we were going to do once we got to Copenhagen. The Copenhagen Marriott (has 5 stars) ******************************************** The hotel has 11 floors and over 300 rooms. Royal connections but not that luxurious -Durham Marriott hotel

...Durham Marriot Hotel Royal County Old Elvert, Durham DH1 3JN A BIT OF SCENE SETTING: This hotel is part of the Marriott chain but is an old hotel which was once the home of Elizabeth Bowes an ancestor of the Queen Mother. Apparently it was often visited when it was privately owned by Edward VII when he was up in Durham. It has had quite a large series of extensions and now boasts 150 bedrooms, some of which are suites and family rooms all and have en suite bathrooms ( As you might expect in a hotel I would have thought). This is a four star hotel right in the centre of Durham so perfect for a city break as you can park your car in the hotel (complimentary) car park and walk round the city which is very compact and just a hop over the road from the hotel. I have stayed in many Marriott?s throughout the UK, Europe and also in the USA and have always found them to be a good standard of hotel providing excellent facilities, accommodation and courteous staff. There are different types and standards of Marriott hotel including Marriott marquis which are the crème de la crème of the chain as well as the cheaper and more cost effective Marriott Courtyard brand in addition to the Renaissance brand and Marriott time share opportunities. Regents Park Marriott Hotel

Advantages: comfortable and clean
Disadvantages: poor leisure club and not very child friendly

...I stay in Marriott Hotels regularly and have been doing so for the past ten years or so. They are always my preference and the Regents Park Marriott Hotel is always the Marriott that I prefer to stay in when I stay in a hotel in London. I have stayed in there quite a few times (not sure exactly how many) but up until this weekend I had never stayed in there with my family. I have stayed there for business, I have stayed there with friends when we wanted a big night out in London and now I've also stayed there with my family for a family weekend (including children) in London.
