Advantages: reasonable price, reasonable sound, portable, built-in amplification & speakers, USB port Disadvantages: no music rest supplied, a few dodgy-sounding notes around D4
...a Yamaha P-150 instead. Although this one didn't sound as good as the PR900 it only made the sounds it was supposed to make. Accordingly I lived with it for 12 years until earlier this year when an upgrade seemed due.
As a result I now have a Yamaha CP300 and am, on the whole, delighted.
I am pleased because, while still not a patch on the Technics PR900*, the CP300 'sings' a lot more than previous Yamaha pianos. And, of course, being a Yamaha, it is very well-mannered. There are no strange electrical noises to worry about. CP300 is also a fine MIDI/XG tone generator and much more capable than the P-150. The only major gripe I have is that CP300 does not come supplied with a music rest. You have to purchase that as 'an accessory' for about £30. As you'd expect, none of the music stores I tried had one in stock. It had to be ordered direct...

Review of Yamaha CP300
Advantages: Fast Printing (if not Adobe), Toner Level Display, Good Quality Print Disadvantages: It's Too Big, Doesn't Duplex Properly, It's Too Big, Noisy, oh yes - It's Too Big!
.../timesheets.
After much debate, my boss went out on a whim - without our IT honcho - and bought the CP4005dn - which, as it had toners instead of cartridge - he rationalised that it couldn't possibly go through the ink as fast and, according to him, was pretty darned fast and was obviously highly sought after as it had sold out in the shop, but they would deliver one to him. This was a bad idea since my boss knew as much about printers as I do about his collection of Johnny Hallyday CDs (in other words, you know what its function is, but other than that not very much). Still, misgivings aside, we awaited its arrival with baited breath.
On Monday, a lovely delivery guy buzzed saying 'parcel', which my colleague duly signed for, only for the delivery guy to disappear on us saying it was outside? oh my. What a sight! I am not joking, the entire thing...
Advantages: Sound quality for the price, attractive appearance Disadvantages: Clunky buttons not very tactile, timer programming not very intuitive
...the Dynamic Sound Generator (DSG) function. DSG does not however, to my ear, make a large difference to the sound. In earlier models, it boosted the bass (now controlled separately) in addition to the digital sound enhancement.
The system is easy to use, and came with a good manual with simple step-by-step instructions for all functions. Setting up was a couple of minutes work, connecting the two speakers, main power cord, and AM and FM aerials. I was disappointed, however, by the feel of the system's pressable switches (rotary dials are smooth and feel more solid) which are not very positive to the touch and are not up to Sony's usual high standard, especially compared to the system's direct predecessor (the CMT-CP1).
I shall summarize the system's functions, and make relevant comments where appropriate:
- CD player: This is drawer...

Review of Sony CMT-CP 101
Advantages: FAST IN PRINTING AND OF GOOD QUALITY. Disadvantages: LARGE AND HEAVY.
...for professional use and also produces professional quality for wider range of colors.
EASE OF USE.
The hp printer is quite easy to use but before using, there is an instruction manual that is provided by the company and it really assists very well both in installation and in use. What I like most is the rate at which it prints while programmed in the computer. It does not waste time in doing so, once the computer gives the information, in less than three seconds; you get your beautiful print.
The HP laser jet cp1515n has very convenient for single click options for every day prints. The HP printer is capable of printing envelopes, card stocks and other paper qualities.
Well would have preferred a smaller printer that would have been carried around because this is quite a heavy printer and cannot be carried around easily. The HP comes...
Advantages: Compact, quick, cheap, portable, quick to install, can do high dpi if required, can be routed thru printer Disadvantages: Short cables, poor distribution makes obtaining one hard, poorly packaged
...http://www.mustek.com.tw/html/prodscan/1200cp.html
On seeing this "Plug & Scan" scanner at £60 in our local copmuter shop, I bought it on impulse for our office. We'd previously had an HP Scanner, which did nothing but crash the computer it was on and could not be moved about very easily.
Now I don't know the ins and outs of scanners, but I know they're not all
£60 and of good a quality as this one.
Mustek are not very well known and don't have the distribution of the HP / Lexmark / Epsons of this world.
I can say though that we have had no problems whatsoever with this scanner. Plug it into the printer port (& you can route the printer through the scanner too), install the software and you're away, easy as pie.
So what are the specs??!!
It's a colour flatbed scanner which can scan from 100dpi up to 19200dpi (not...

Review of Mustek 1200 CP
Advantages: Plenty of features, great sound Disadvantages: Quite large for a mini hi-fi
...Introduction
=
I have had my Sony CMT-CP100 for 2 years now and I purchased mine from Argos for £199.99. This particularly hi-fi has now been discontinued by many stores but you can purchase it from www.24-7electrical.com for £189.99 including delivery.
Installation and set-up
=
This hi-fi is extremely easy to set up, as you only have to attach the speakers and a couple of aerials to enable you to tune the radio. The sockets are clearly marked on the back of the unit so there is no confusion with where to put the various wires. I had my hi-fi up and running in a little under 5 minutes.
The Main Unit
The Sony CMT-CP100 is mini hi-fi system, however measuring 7 1/2" x 10" x 13 1/2" it is at the bigger end of the mini hi-fi market. The picture above fails to show just how long...

Review of Sony CMT-CP 100
Advantages: Pocket friendly price tag Disadvantages: Not the fastest scanner in the world
...It was my aproaching my birthday and I was asked what I wanted. "A digital camera" I replied with glee, only to be told that they were too expensive - think of something else. I decided a scanner would be a good idea, I could scan in all those old photos and e-mail them to everyone I know.
At the time, Staples were having a sale and the Mustek 600 CP was a good price, £44.94. I had heard of Mustek's reputation for quality and reliability and thought this to be a bargain.
On getting my brand new, shiny scanner home it was a doddle to set up and configure, just follow the instructions and you're there. Even the supplied software was easy to install - Textbridge and iPhoto Plus. The installation guide booklet is handy and gives step-by-step instructions on how to do everything from connecting the parrallel cables to the actual...

Review of Mustek 600 CP
Advantages: Easy to use, Small. powerful and cheap Disadvantages: Recording CD to Tape, why would you? I bought an MP3 player
...Ladies and Gentlemen with your permission may I introduce for your delectation and delight the first opinion of a most particular prestigious model, a visualisation of insurmountable optical presence, a sound so resoundingly splendid and rich it outmatches even “Lulu” when she shouts “Shout”, yes put your hands together for the “Sony CMT-CP1”. Just rolls off the tongue don’t it?
What makes people buy “Micro Hi-Fi Component Systems”? I will tell you why they are easy. Easy to set-up, easy to arrange on your sideboard and easy to use. I mean Sony try to make them hard to use but if you can read and have even a little patience you can make them work. That is unless you want to record from CD to tape well that is a different story.
The “aforementioned Model” is a godsend...
