My crag's worth exploring

...~~*~~*~~ Warton Crag ~~*~~*~~ Me and the Pig (the most exuberant chocolate lab that ever lived) discovered Warton Crag just under a year ago. I say discovered; not in the Captain Cook way ? I asked where I could let Pig roam free where there was no cattle and have a good walk into the bargain and the Crag was the first place recommended to me. I?d only just moved to the area and as anyone who owns a dog knows, trying to find a dog-friendly walk can be a bit of a nightmare. Living in Carnforth, Lancashire means we?re right on the edge of the Lakes so there are plenty of walks to be had but I?m a lazy cow and I needed to find one on the doorstep ? there?s the canal which is very nice but there are always cyclists and ruddy horses that have a habit of ploughing you down and then glaring at you; there?s also the beach which too is...

...Cresswell Crags are fairly local to me so over the years I have visited this place several times. The whole area is a Limestone Gorge scattered with Caves and small Fissures but these Caves hold secrets dating back to the Ice Age. The remains of Animals and Stone Tools found in the Caves here have proved that people lived in these Caves during the Ice Age, some 50,000 years ago. Cresswell Crags is one of the most Northern places on Earth where Ice Age Stone Men are known to have lived making this site of importance on not just a National but a World scale too. In 2003 exploration into some of the smaller less explored Caves revealed Cave Art depicting Wolves, Bears and Mammoths. This is the only example of Ice Age Cave Art ever found in Britain. Sym City Hopper 49cc Moped/Scooter

Advantages: Looks, Handling, Efficiency, Price and Storage.
Disadvantages: Very minor but the Indicators. [A little tricky to get used to]

Been looking round eBay for ages to find my perfect first scooter and finally came across a Sym city hopper, Its blue and when i had it the black plastics had become gray and had not been treated greatly by the previous owner.. So, with a weeks-holiday off school i spent all my time restoring it to perfect condition and i don't think i could have spent £127 in a better way! The bikes great! Its large, comfortable and being a student, it doesnt cost alot to maintain [just £4 petrol and top up of 2-sttroke oil every few weeks] I had restricted when i cought it and had 35 out of it, so it was very nippy for a restricted bike. But naturally, [as a typical male] as time went i on i have now fully de-restricted it and now cruise 10-15 miles daily at 40-50 mph and never had...

Advantages: Cheaper than other flea treatments .
Disadvantages: Short acting .

...ingnore the puppy . She in turn tries to ingratiate herself by trying to play with them at every opportunity ..... thankfully no fur has flown no yelps have ensued when either of the "girls" have tried to educate the puppy. However, yelps have occurred due another little beast .! Yes , you have it ! Hoppers ! (fleas). The girls are treated regularily with frontline. Accord anti-flea spray is my best friend around the household including soft fabrics. Both of which are very good at preventing flea infestation. So where then did Lotti accquire her hoppers ! ? From the garden , I have been reliably informed . Apparently fleas hop from grass blades onto thier host and travel back into the house . They are tenacious little buggers and stealthy too. ...! Space hoppers ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^ I think everyone had one of these, and they are still relatively popular these days. My space hopper had a horse?s head (this was in the days before I watched The Godfather) rather than the standard crazy faced monstrosity. They only came in one colour, and that was bright orange, but they were brilliant for keeping children happy and exercised. I used to bound up and down our hallway as a child dodging the cabinets and coat racks, and it?s only now that I realised we lived in a flat. The poor man downstairs must have cursed my mum for buying me this particular gift! Hop Ball? Its's still a space hopper to me!

Advantages: Will keep kids happy

...I used to have something very similar to this back in the day, but then it was called a space hopper, can you remember them? I've download a pic below for a bit of nostalgia. So when I was asked to by a Hop-A-Roo Hop Ball for my little god-daughter I did wonder "what the hell is one of those?". Anyway I am pleased to report that she is having as much run on her new Hop-A-Roo Hop Ball as used to have on my space hopper! This 'space hopper' is 15" and made of heavy duty vinyl so it won't pop or tear (and cause unwanted tears!) The hopper can be inflated by either a hand or foot pump and comes with inflating adaptor plug. I can't comment how easy it was to inflate because we got her Dad to do this bit. ...With Bernard Butler (Suede)on recording and producing duties, alongside Nigel Godrich cracking on with the engineering, it's astonishing that Hopper didn't make a bigger impression on the indie scene. No doubt fans of suede, at least the majority, would've easily bypassed this LP, given it's raw and urgent directness, somewhat lacking in epic harmonies and sound scape. With a voice echoing Justine Frischman ( Elastica ) and matching her, bite for bite with every great lyric, the unnamed lady singing contains herself as well as she loses it with equal control and understanding of that which it is, a certain song craves for and requires. Her band-mates, also going unnamed, show a certain level of experience and knowledge, with their sometimes uniformed but nevertheless, always complimentary and praiseworthy sounds.
