Half Nelson- A Gem of a film

...I was meant to see this film for quite a while now and finally saw it the other day. I am so sorry that I neglected this film for so long; a quality film like this shouldn't wait to be watched! Directed and co-written by Ryan Fleck, it stars Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling plays Dan Dunne, a school teacher who has drug problems himself. The film is just based on Dan's interaction with students which comprises most part of his life. One of the main focus point of the film lies in the bonding he shares with one of his students who finds him in the school bathroom doing drugs. In one sense the film doesn't have a broad story but the director knows how he wants his film to shape up, he stays with Dan's character the whole time. A film which rests solely on a couple of characters needs to be poignant and intense and this film is nothing short...

Craig Tara - Haven or Hell???

Advantages: Ayr is a nice place to visit

..., where Craig Tara is situated, but also because it looked fantastic in the Haven brochure. I filled in the form and sent it off. I received a letter back saying our 1st choice was successful, and we had booked a four night break in September. The total cost was £58 as we upgraded our accomodation, which isn't bad for a 4 night break. There was the option of paying extra for more upgrades, insurance and the hire of bed linen, but as we had insurance and decided to take our own bed linen as travelling by car, we were satisfied with our booking. On arriving at the park, we thought it looked fine, situated right on the coast. We parked in the car park outside the reception building and went inside at 4pm which was the check-in time stated on the booking form. ...school photos so are not very clear. I think I would have much preferred the book to have been written by Daniel himself. This book was published by John Blake and has the hefty price tag on the inside cover of £18.99. I am so pleased to say that hubby did not pay this price, he paid the total sum of £3.00 in Wilkinsons for my copy. I am going to say that only die hard fans of Mr Craig should really read this book, anyone else would be better off waiting for the man himself to write a book....

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...had to get off the site,this was starting to get to us.We made a short 15 Minute drive into the pleasant town of Ayr.We managed to find a Morrisons and 'Mum' treated us all to a fantastic picnic,that we served up inside the car in front of the lovely sandy beach at Ayr Sea Front. As we drove back,i couldn't help myself,and failed to indicate and negotiate a right turn into Craig Tara,and carried on South.Around 10 minutes drive later we caught sit of a fantastic Castle ruin on the sea edge,and turned the next right to get down to it.Dunure Castle ruins were a very interesting relic and the kids were enjoying the environment next to the sea and we walked the 5 minutes down to a beautiful little harbour,lots of boats and a very inviting Inn on the Harbour Side,so inviting we had a quick drink.By far the nicest part of our holiday. ...We went to Craig Tara holiday park in Ayr this year for our summer holidays ( July 2007), I went as I thought it would be a fun holiday for my kids, at that stage they were aged 8 years, 6 years and 5 years. Looking for a family holiday It was October 2006 and we were looking up different holidays on the internet as we wanted to book well in advance we came across Craig tara, I must say by the look of their website it was brilliant. The chalets looked amazing and there seemed to be loads to do and the prices didnt look bad either.
