...Faced with an early flight from Gatwick which would have meant a 3.30 am departure from our Northampton home I decided to look into hotels that also provided airport car parking and transfer services as overall this worked out a lot cheaper. We were looking at airport parking fees of about £60 for the duration of our holiday however a family room at the Europa Hotel including breakfast, free bus transfers and up to 15 nights parking came to £82 which seemed a great deal. The hotel is part of the Britannia chain of hotels. ...Lancashire have been County Championship runners-up for the last 3 seasons and still await their first championship since 1934. The rise of the county in the 4-day game has coincided with a decline in their one-day performances though the 2 may not be so closely linked. They are now captained by John Crawley but the county still has 3 former captains Mike Atherton, Neil Fairbrother and Mike Watkinson to call on. Atherton is the only Lancahsire player with a central contarct and is likely to be the only one playing regularly for the England test team in the near future. Not as posh as it looks

...This restaurant from the outside looks very posh as it has the bay tree balls and the menu on a stand outisde. It is a little out of town and doesn't quite seem right in Crawley, but we gave it a try. Booking was very easy and the telephone manner of the person I spoke to was very good. Upon arrival our coats were taken and we were given a choice of where we could sit. The restaurant is long and curved with the majority of tables looking out onto the street via large picture windows. This was not so good in terms of the view because it is of a dual carraigeway and there were plenty of louts walking up and down the pavement. Decor is monochrome and the lighting is at a low level which creates a nice atmosphere. Healthy attitude to exercise

Advantages: Without doubt, the best equipped gym in the area

I am a gym-freak who loves body-building and swimming, so I needed a place with a decent gym and a pool as well. I also wanted somewhere I could top up my tan with some sunbeds! Esporta Health and Fitness in Crawley was ideal because it offered all of the above, and is brilliantly situated right in the centre of town. But Esporta doesn't come without drawbacks. During my time as a member, I have found three main problems. Firstly, there's the peak time overcrowding. As I work odd shifts I don't have a set time of day to visit the gym, and after some horrible experiences I will always do my best to avoid peak time. ...Have been here a few times. It is located on the main high street in Crawley where most of the other restaurants and bars are which is very handy. It can be booked in advance but they also let you go along on the night and if they can't fit you in straight away they take your mobile number and call you when one is. You can then go off and get a drink elsewhere if you want to. As you walk in you enter a very small bar area and are immediately greeted by friendly staff who will take you to your table. THere are plenty of tables of different sizes to accomodate different parties. They tend to group larger parties together which is good if you want a quiet romantic meal. ...This may be more of a moan, than an opinion, but I am so mad I had to tell you all. My Mum was celebrating her birthday on Easter Sunday, so we decided to get some of the family together and have a nice lunch. There was going to be 10 adults and 2 children, after many suggestions turned down by all, too expensive, food not good, don't like carvery and not enough veggie options among the reasons, we settled on 'The Jubilee Oak' a J D Wetherspoons pub in Crawley (near Gatwick).
