...I have to say that I wrote this review just because this product kind of took me by surprise. This was given to me (a trial size) by a friend and I stupidly made the assumption it was a moisturiser. When I looked at the tube it said 'skin protectant' and no more. On further inspection on the back I realised that with a trial size, added to the fact that my friend didn't give me the box, confused me further. I unscrewed the cap from the white tube and squeezed. Not a lot happened so I squeezed again. Slowly a bronzed coloured substance came out that to be honest looked more like lip balm than cream. I then jumped on the internet and found that this product is meant to soothe, restore, calm and help relieve chapped, cracked or dry skin. Soothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations. ...I'm sure a tube of savlon lurks in most first aid boxes, the smell certainly reminds me of the cuts and scrapes of my childhood, where this was a staple in my mum's box. Savlon is an antiseptic cream that comes in a foil/metal tube (like a toothpaste). It soothes and prevents infection whilst encouraging the natural skin healing process. It can be used on cuts and grazes as well as minor burns, blisters and sores and sunburn. It is also great for insect bites and stings. Apparently, it can also be used on spots, shaving cuts and nappy rash - although these are things that I have not used it for. When I was younger, I frequently had it applied to cuts and grazes and remember it stinging on first application (a few seconds of what would now just be a tingling sensation) but it meant that my wounds did heal and it gave peace...

...I have really sensitive hands, and after trying a lot of hand creams to little success a friend introduced me to E45. It is supposed to soothe and soften for 24 hours before re-applying. The tub costs £4.50 and here are the results. When, I applied it in the morning I was very impressed, it was really fast absorbing and all the residue disappeared so I wasn’t left with greasy hands. With the other creams I had sticky hands after using the cream but this was one was good. It is perfect for anyone with dry or sensitive skin, you only need to use a bit to get that smoothness back. The tub is quite big and it’s one of them products which will last forever. It did work as a moisturiser too, it left my skin feeling smooth and relaxed. They were no longer hard and rough but smooth. I was very impressed by the results...

A moisturising wash cream for dry skin

...don't in any way aggravate my eczema, I decided this would be fine to wash my hands with. Although I don't actually have any eczema on my hands at the moment, my hands are incredibly dry, and I usually find that my eczema starts as a patch of red, dry skin, and worsens from there, so anything to help prevent that happening is welcome. This wash cream in fact states that it relieves and helps to prevent dry skin by retaining the skins natural moisture and doesn't change the normal skin PH. The wash comes in a white bottle with a pump action dispenser. It's a very plain looking bottle, and it annoys me that I can't see how much of it I've got left.
