...I would love to be able to say that I make all my sauces for my dinners from hand with nothing but the freshest ingredients but unfortunately I work long hours and just don't have the time to have to cheat and buy them in packets!! Some of the best packets around in my opinion can be found in the Schwartz range. Last week I made a birthday dinner for my husband and as his favourite is steak, steak it was. I did however have a bit of a problem deciding how to cook it and what to cook it with as I have never cooked steak before So, after a quick browse in the Schwartz packet isle - they have just about every flavour and taste available, I came across thier creamy mild peppercorn sauce mix. DOLMIO CARBONARA SAUCE - YUMMY

...The only sauce that I like on my pasta is Carbonara. I usually use the pouches that you heat up, but when my local supermarket had run out of them I thought I would try the stir-in one. Creamy Carbonara - This sauce is made mainly with cream, ham, cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese. 100g of the product has 181 calories and 15.8 grams of fat, so not very good for those of us on a diet! I have it around once a month I suppose, in order not to eat too much of it. PACKAGING AND INSTRUCTIONS The sauce comes in a white plastic 150g tub, with a foil lid, one of those that is just impossible to tear off in one go. There is then a cardboard sleeve around the tub. Seems a bit excessive really. The instructions say to cook your pasta, then stir the sauce into the cooked pasta. it can be microwaved, but this is not a necessity...

...This product is made by Knorr and the packaging is quite simple, it is a cylindrical shaped glass jar with a green lid. The lid is one of those that you pop up in the middle and if it refuses to move then you must not use the jar just in case someone has used it before you. You then simply screw the lid off anticlockwise. The labelling is one of those new plastic type ones and on the front it states the name of the Product which is Chicken Tonight Creamy Peppercorn and The Knorr logo on the front. It also depicts a picture of a green casserole dish with chicken and the sauce poured over it. This is jar is quite good and is 500g so would easily do a family of four. ...If ever there's an offer to be had I will usually use it as a way to try out new products. I have a bit of a thing for trying out new sauces on my chips; I love Sweet and Sour or Sweet Chilli.
