...The first thing you notice about the Jukebox Zen Xtra is that it is noticably larger than most of the other MP3 players on the market, It does however act as an external hard drive so you can use it to store a whole variety of things, not just MP3's. Other than that I liked the way the jukebox looked, the sceen was big and clear and the buttons were well labled so it was easy to just pick up and use. The instructions you recieve with the player are OK but they are not very in depth, the software is easy to install though and once you have used it it is simple enough. I had a problem with my jukebox where it would lose MP3's I had loaded on to it and the instructions did not tell me how to reset it. I had to look on the creative website which is much better than the instruction book and I wish I had looked there before i started... Read review

...OK, Firstly the Creative Zen Mp3 player is a great Purchase - buy one now, if you already have one, congratulate youself on a good choice. There is really no point comparing it to an ipod, ipods are "fashionable" but of no real use, a Zen beats the ipod hands down on price and storage and battery life (14 hours). People say that the ipod looks nice, well whats wrong with my Zen Xtra, it comes in a nice silver colour and i certainly wouldnt be ashamed to show it to my friends and use it infront of them. Ok, to address some concerns........ The Battery cover coming off - the battery cover is secured by a catch at the bottom which I have found has a nice strong spring and has yet to come off once accidently. A good design. ...The Creative jukebox Zen Xtra is a portable Mp3 player that can hold up to approximately 16,000 songs. Of course, this all depends upon the size that you purchase. This particular Mp3 player starts from 30GB, then up to 40GB, and finally 60GB. However, before you jump in too quickly, don't be fooled that although the 30GB is half the size of their largest mp3 player, that the 30GB is going to be too small. I bought the 40GB, and never in a million years do I expect to fill it. Think about the size if your hard drive on your computer, and how full it is, and inparticular, how much space you have used with songs. In my experience, with my 40GB computer, it's nowhere near half full, and I have many songs, and many other documents and games. ...When I was buying my MP3 player the inevitable 'zen or ipod' question did, of course, arise. In the end I chose the Zen mainly for the fact that for slightly more memory, it was about £100 cheaper. This was over a year ago, so now the prices have become more competitive, yet if I had to make the decision again I would still choose the Creative player. The reason I love the player so much is because of how easy it is to use. The large screen and scroll wheel make manoveuring around the player very simple, personally I organise all my music into albums, so it looks more organised and makes finding tracks easy. However, you can also scroll through tracks by artist and genre, and look at each track individually. The search function is easy to use, and the shuffle function also works well. ...My Zen Xtra is the single best purchase i have ever made, it holds an amazing amount of songs on its internal hard drive. There are so many functions for controlling the way your music is organised and played, you can play all by artist, album, genre, play EVERY track in order or randomly. I payed £145 for my player, the price included a very handsome leather protective case, the buttons are located around the outside of the player for perfect control with fingers and thumbs without having to look at what button is where I also use my player as a backup for my home PC, you simply use windows explorer to drag files into it, i currently have over 1500 songs and a complete windows installation stored on my player and still have about 25Gb free space... WOW All in all this player is an awesome buy and well worth the money, DONT... Read review

...First, I will compare this to my experiences of the Apple iPods, because I am sure most people will be looking between Creative and Apple. In my opinion, the menu system is a lot more easy to use on the Creative - due to the fact that there is a more logical progression between screens. Secondly, the jog wheel is just as good as the touch wheel, it just takes a bit more practice to get used to. Thirdly, the Zen Xtra also displays more information about each track than the iPods I have used. Disadvantages: Headphone jack on early versions can be broken easily

...I've had my Zen Xtra for about 3 years now, and so far had no major problems with it. I managed to snap the headphone jack off, which is a common problem with the earlier models but this only cost me around £10 to fix at a local phone shop. The menus and controls are extremely easy to use, and personally I much prefer the roll wheel to the I-pods touch pad. The build quality is excellent, and feels extremely solid (I've managed to drop mine quite a few times and it still works 100% - not that I recommend throwing it on the floor to test this!). The sound quality as with the rest of the Zen is outstanding. It's extremely clear on the treble, and punchy on the bass. It's also easy to tailor the sounds to your personally preference with the onboard equaliser, or simple use one of the preset options (rock/pop etc.) Storage... Read review

...and that Creative are bringing out there newest Muvo as i type but to me if Apple can bring out and iPod a quater the size of the Nomad on the first attempt then surly Creative could have scaled down ther behemoth alittle. Memory 40 gig do i need say more (AMAZING AND FAST) Pc Interface On usb 2 this maching seriously smokes downloads are fast (1.5 gig in less than 70 seconds) Windows Xp finds the device efficently and quickly but i would say use the disk and put the Creative drivers on as well as the Creative nomad interface its much easier to transfer from pc to nomad and vice versa Software = As a rule im normaly skeptical of the bundle software with a product knowing that wot i usually have installed will work much better but with the nomad this is not true Creative have made the software interface from pc to nomad... This really takes some beating. As Creative are the owners of EAX sound has obviously been the main concern on this player. Every note is clear and crisp (as long as you encode your mp3, wma, wmp correctly!) and it is very difficult to tell the difference between mp3 and CD for general listening. The fact that this player incorporates EAX and other sound enhancements only increases listening pleasure. Creative are renouned as the leaders in sound quality on the PC platform, this experience has led to them being able to address the mp3 market with truely wonderful machines. .... A selection of classical music is preloaded as are a few different "tracks" that teach you the finer points of the player and how to work it. The package comes with the player, a charger, one battery,a driver and program disc for the PC,a set of headphones, instructions and an excellent leather carry case which protects the unit from those annoying scratches that wear and tear brings. The facia is interchangeable although i have yet to locate a source to buy further covers, should the need arise. At £8 from a source on Ebay a spare battery can provide longer playing time than your ever likely to need, bringing the choice of just which song to play first !! All in all this 60GB version of what is an excellent product that is integrated with Creative (yes, those of PC sound card fame) EAX which can give the impression the sound is coming from...
