Creative Soundblaster Audigy SE
Advantages: Loads of featured software, price
Disadvantages: none
..., a control panel and loads of other creative software. The control panel enables you to do clever features such as making a male voice change to a woman's for example. They can be quite amusing. Some of Creative's software included is a very useful audio converter- to convert WMA to MP3 for your mp3 player for example. You can also use it to change the quality of the sound to create smaller files. Also a midi keyboard thing is included but I have no midi input and clicking with the mouse isn't very helpful so I don't use it. Another program included is a WAVE editing studio. This allows you to edit audio files like the pros do but I haven't quite figured it out- not my type of thing. Finally you get a sound recorder thing which is good. This runs alongside the media player included also? as you can see lots of stuff is included with the software...

The Sound Blaster Audigy LS
Advantages: Brilliant clarity. Excellent with all types of music, especially rock. Simple set up & Instructions.
Disadvantages: None at all.
...When it comes to sound, most motherboards these days have integrated electronics to support all manner of devices. Soundcards, while no longer a necessity, have retained their popularity on the market due to the fact that they often improve the sound quality heard through ones speakers or headphones profoundly. Such is the case with the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS.
Introduction
I purchased this card a few months ago, to compliment my cheap and cheerful Pc Chips board, the sound from my motherboard was quite good but didn't really do some genres of music justice (in particular classical music). So off I went to my local computer fair in search of a sound card to give the audio a much needed boost.
It didn't take long to locate a stall which seemed to specialize in sound and video cards, after browsing for awhile a box...

Creative Sound Blaster Connect
Advantages: Good sound, optical connections, complete bundle
Disadvantages: A bit light, stereo only via analogue
...It?s not always easy or convenient to open your PC to install a new soundcard. You may just not like the idea of physically opening the machine. It may be you are a laptop owner and plagued by their notoriously poor audio capabilities. In either case, if you need to upgrade your machine?s sound capabilities, the Creative SoundBlaster Connect is just what the doctor ordered
Installation
Being a USB device, you simply need to install the drivers, plug it in to a USB socket and away you go. The Sound Blaster Connect takes its power from the USB connection so no external power pack is needed which is a major plus point. My system has Windows XP and an existing onboard sound card but it's a bit average. After installation both the original sound card and the new external one worked fine but I decided to disable the onboard sound via...

Sound without blasting a hole in your wallet
Advantages: Cheap, 5.1-channel sound available. Good quality sound
Disadvantages: Not for hardcore gamers,
...Having put up with mediocre sound delivered with one of these in fashion on-board motherboard sound devices, I decided it was time to harp back to the good old days of computing and purchase a sound card.
Now back in the day, Creative were the only brand of note in the sound card market. Although others have now joined in, the market for sound cards is nowhere near as competitive as other components. As a result, Creative still hold supremacy as a result of their previous reputation as much as anything else.
I didn't really want to spend mega bucks on this new sound card either, especially after recently paying to upgrade other aspects of my computer, so when I saw the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy in my local PC World on sale for £39.99 I thought this is the one for me!!! I will say it is also available in other computer hardware...

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Advantages: Voters stunning
Disadvantages: none
...I am always very confident that the product with the word "extreme" in their names. By using a computer, a product that is in line with the performance, reliability and well-supported. That is, either by the driver, easy installation, or other features that I need to use this product. All have a strange obsession with the name Xi-Fi Xtreme, Xtreme Sound.
I wonder, why change something that has been stable since 2001, the last time I think about the sound card? With names like "X-Fi Xtreme Gamer" is what really apart from a previous Sound Blaster sound card in 2001, because the voice I had never complained or irritated and great sound for all games, music, Internet chat.
I tried a lot for this computer so that the volume of a sound card is not a problem for me. For those who are interested in the plant, I am pleased to say that this...

Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook - a phenomenon
Advantages: Great Sound
Disadvantages: Limited software, little expensive
.... I have tried it with my 7.1 Creative set and the quality was very good but not quite up to my living room 5.1 system (made by Tannoy and costing £900!). It is comparable, obviosuly the bass is diffferent. It is very deep but a bit boomy with the creative set and mid range sounds (e.g. Voices) are not as well defined. However, it is a cheap and very listenable solution. I took the test a little further by using the digital optical Input on the Audigy 2 ZS and plugged into my PS3. The 7.1 set sounded even better with a BLuray disc in however my girlfriend could not tell the difference so it might not be as big a gap as expected.
My main use for the card is to produce dance music. It is so clear in stereo mode. I love using this card and run it through an external Cambridge audio amplifier to my Tannoy Mercury F1 Customs. this gives...

Creative Sound Blaster MP3+ external sound card
Advantages: Good software bundle, cheap, works well.
Disadvantages: Only stereo out on analogue
...It's not always easy or convenient to open your PC to install a new soundcard. You may just not like the idea of physically opening the machine. It may be you are a laptop owner and plagued by their notoriously poor audio capabilities. In either case, if you need to upgrade your machine's sound capabilities, the Creative SoundBlaster MP3+ is just what the doctor ordered.
I've had mine a couple of years now so you'll probably be looking to eBay or similar if you want to get one now.
Installation
Being a USB device, you simply need to install the drivers, plug it in to a USB socket and away you go. The MP3+ takes its power from the USB connection so no external power pack is needed which is a major plus point when your computer corner is heaving with external power packs hanging out of wall sockets. My PC has Windows XP...

The Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX
Advantages: Many features, high qaulity, overall good sound card!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...I got this card as a birthday present some months ago and a good present it wass too!
Where to start...
Well the Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum has more features than you can shake a stick at! Just go to www.creative.com and look for it.
But from my experience here is what you get:
>Really high sound qaulity and support for analouge and digital 5.1 surround sound speaker rigs.
>A whole load of ports and sockets for pluging things into (It has a whole box of extra ports that firts in a drive bay)
>Some cool affects from echos to voice changers, I've had some great fun with those!
>Some very usefull bundeled software.
When I got everything out of the box there were so many bits I thaught "This is going to take ages" But a quick read through the quick start guide and everything was clear. I was installing it in a Compaq system...

Something Sounds Good
Advantages: Great sound, wide compatibility, fantastic remote control feature
Disadvantages: Remote software not quite perfect
...Most motherboards come with onboard sound these days that's perfectly acceptable, even including surround sound decoders, and a lot of people are satisfied with this. If you use your PC for most of your entertainment though, as do I, you'll find yourself demanding higher quality before too long. Perhaps you're running some high-spec games and want to squeeze something more out of your performance. Either way, Creative are the go-to-guys.
Soundblaster has a long history in PCs, and was the first de facto standard for gaming way back when you had to configure a game in DOS first. Nothing sits still, though, and Soundblaster has been a name consistently at the forefront of technology, and with the Audigy range Creative has really started to push the envelope for consumers.
The Audigy 4 is a full-featured, highly respectable card...
