Creative zen

Advantages: reasonable price, looks good, dinky, good battery life, good sound quality.

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

...The Creative Zen Stone Plus is the 2Gb upgrade of the basic Stone, and as well as the extra 1Gb of space it has a small LED screen for viewing track information and navigating content, a voice recorder, and FM radio. As a cheap, small, easily portable MP3 player with a large enough memory to stop me from listening to the same songs every 5 minutes this serves it's purpose very well. Pros: - it looks cool; - it holds around 500 tracks depending on their size; - it's tiny; - sound quality and volume are good (even with the radio) - software allows for easy drag-and-drop quick uploads (although once you upload from one folder you can't upload more tracks or browse any until the upload is finished) Cons: - you need to download the software from the internet, so if you don't have a connection you have to risk using windows...

The Creative ZEN Stone

Advantages: Good battery life, easy to use, good value for money
Disadvantages: No screen, very small so potentially easy to lose

...I bought this mp3 player as I was tired of always changing round the songs on my ancient 128mb player. I knew from friends that Creative were a decent brand so I had a look on the internet to see what sort of prices we were talking, and I was pleasantly surprised. I found this 2GB version of the Zen Stone for £25 over a year ago and in my opinion that is great value for money. The battery life is very good and the fact that it recharges via USB is very useful. To transfer songs all you need to do is connect the player to your computer and drag songs into the player's folder.. its as easy as that! The controls are straight forward, nothing fancy but from my point of view, this is all that's needed. The fact that there is no screen may put some people off but this was not the case with me as you can set in to random and hope...

...The Creative Zen, in my opinion, is a very good MP3 player which could quite easily give the Ipod nano a run for its money. The sound quality of the Creative Zen, I believe is far superior to that of an Ipod. Although it may not look as impressive, it is a neat looking piece of technology; very sleek and stylish looking. Also, It is neither masculine nor feminine and therefore suits everyone! The Zen also plays videos and again, the quality is good. It has a 2.5 inch screen, larger than the Ipod nano at 2 inches. The software that comes with the Creative Zen is really good, allowing you to put any file onto your Zen as it converts them for you. A massive advantage, in my opinion, is that the Zen comes with a SD card expansion slot so if you only buy the 4GB Zen, you can increase the capacity at a later date, up to 12GB which is better...

The Creative Zen is brilliant little device!

Advantages: Small, sleek and lots of features

...I received this device as a gift. I was a little unsure at first as I had never owned any kind of MP3 before. I was very pleasantly suprised to find it very easy to use and that it has unexpected features such as radio, photo and video. Personally I often use this on the train or the walk to work - the sound and video quality is excellent. I have often watched programs downloaded from BBC i Player and the quality is brilliant. The Zen comes with computer software which is very easy to install. You can also use i-tunes with this product, which is very handy. The only very slight gripe with this product is that I found the buttons a bit confusing at first... although saying that, I didn't read the instructions! This is a great alternative to an i-pod, personally I think it is better - easier to use and with more features....

Zen Creative

Advantages: Sleek appearance. Not an i-pod. Good video capacity. Easy to use.
Disadvantages: No case - screen scratches easily. No function to edit playlists without connection to a computer.

...In my opinion the Zen creative is a great alternative to an i-pod. Personally I would rather not use i-tunes as I find it zaps the processing power of my computer so having an mp3 player that doesn't require the apple software is great. Plus it is more unique than having an i-pod. I think that the sound quality is excellent. Both the computer software and the player menus are really easy to navigate and use. The video quality and screen size on the player itself are impressive considering the small size of the player. Furthermore the player is aesthetically pleasing and the background theme can also be altered so it is possible to personalise the display! I also enjoy the inclusion of an fm-radio function. The only disadvantages to this otherwise distinctive and well-designed player are: 1) you have to be careful not to scratch...

...I bought myself a Creative Zen Vision M to listen to my music collection. I chose this player due to the large storage capacity and video capabilities as well as the built-in FM radio tuner. Mine is the 60GB version, but the 30GB version is also available in a slightly smaller body. The player has a black front and a white back and doesn't look quite elegant. It has four buttons, each with an icon that glows a nice blue colour when pressed. Something unusual is that it has a vertical touch pad for navigation. I bought mine for £160 at the time when it first came out (60GB version) but the 30GB version seems to be selling for just over £100 on eBay.
