Creative Zen plus 4Gb

Advantages: Great interface, intuitive, nice size, good sound and video quality, cheap, mains charger avaliable
Disadvantages: in-built battery, shiny surface always shows finger prints, scratches are really noticeable.

Creative zen

Advantages: reasonable price, looks good, dinky, good battery life, good sound quality.
Disadvantages: NONE:)

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

Review of Creative ZEN MX

Solid effort from Creative

Advantages: Built-in speakers, easy to use and durable player
Disadvantages: Permanently backlit display

...is very similar to that of other Zen mp3 players so if you've had another Zen then nothing will be a shock in terms of how to work it. The only thing that I've found which appears to be different is that the backlight seems to stay on the whole time. There might be an option to turn this off but it hasn't really bothered me enough to want to find out if there's a way to turn it off. I also found that the range of compatible accessories is good for the Mosaic, I have the speakers and an armband for the gym. Overall I'm very pleased with it, I'm not sure I like the look of it quite as much as the V+ but it does actually look better in person that from pictures on the internet. I'm not a hardcore music fan so 4GB is fine for me but if you want more than 8GB then you might be better picking another player. I can heartily recommend it though...

Lots of functions on the Zen

...A 'mobile phone" without the buttons, my husband calls this MP3 player from Creative. The Zen Wav comes with a built in set of speakers so you can play your music for others to hear rather than through headphones like the other members of the Zen Range. It has nice sleek looks with a shiny graphite casing and clear screen for easy reading and observing photos and/or movies. Yes not only does it play music, but it can also store your pictures and films. Battery life claims to be up to 30 hours but im sure this is a little optimistic. With the speakers in full efffect, expect the battery life to halve so where possible always use the headphones. Compared to other members of the Zen range, the only extra this has over them is the fact it has built in speakers. Therefore its biggest unique selling point may also be its downfall...

...I bought a creative zen 4GB because i wanted a good quality mp3 player, which held a decent amount of music, but i wasnt particularly bothered about getting an iPod, because i think theyre a bit overpriced. i chose the 4GB because i dont have loads of music, but wanted something which held a decent amount. What i really liked about the Zen V when i was looking to buy something was its clear screen, which is a feature of the iPod which i like, and i also think its quite well priced. when i got the Zen, i wasn´t disappointed! it looks good, its small, lightweight, and very easy to carry around. A lot of my friends who have iPods complain that they scratch easily, but ive had my zen nearly 2 months, and its taken a few knocks and is well used, but still looks like new. It comes with head phones, but they have foam bits on them...

creative zen gives the ipod nano a run for its money

...The Creative Zen, in my opinion, is a very good MP3 player which could quite easily give the Ipod nano a run for its money. The sound quality of the Creative Zen, I believe is far superior to that of an Ipod. Although it may not look as impressive, it is a neat looking piece of technology; very sleek and stylish looking. Also, It is neither masculine nor feminine and therefore suits everyone! The Zen also plays videos and again, the quality is good. It has a 2.5 inch screen, larger than the Ipod nano at 2 inches. The software that comes with the Creative Zen is really good, allowing you to put any file onto your Zen as it converts them for you. A massive advantage, in my opinion, is that the Zen comes with a SD card expansion slot so if you only buy the 4GB Zen, you can increase the capacity at a later date, up to 12GB which is better...

Perfect Zen

...I recently bought a Zen v plus 4gb from Amazon. It was only about £91. My husband has the Zen 20gb and loves it. The Zen v plus 4gb holds around 2,000 according to the box, I haven't filled it up yet, i've only put 140 tracks on. The small big button in the middle of the player easily navigates through the menus, then you have a back key and a pause/play key on the front. On the side of the player is the volumn control, record button, on/off/hold switch. At the top you have the USB input slot and the line in. At the bottome is the loop to put your lanyard in so you can hang it round your neck, beware of magpies though! What's in the Box? It comes with a short USB cable which is fine if you are using a laptop but if you are using a tower PC you might have to scramble around on the floor with your player. Also in...
