Creative Zen plus 4Gb

Advantages: Great interface, intuitive, nice size, good sound and video quality, cheap, mains charger avaliable
Disadvantages: in-built battery, shiny surface always shows finger prints, scratches are really noticeable.

...I bought this thing because my old tatty mp3 player with a smashed up screen stopped working. i bought a few really cheap things before it but they didn't really work, one even crashed my computer every time i plugged it in so i opted to spend a bit more and hopefully get something a bit better. usually i think you're paying more just for a brand name but not in this case. overall i love the thing, it fits my needs really well and every time i use it i genuinely think what a good buy it is. The only reason it's four star is because ideally i'd have a matte surface. i'm also a little worried i'll break it because I'm very clumsy and I don't know that it's up to it. Review of Creative ZEN

Solid effort from Creative

Advantages: Built-in speakers, easy to use and durable player
Disadvantages: Permanently backlit display

...is very similar to that of other Zen mp3 players so if you've had another Zen then nothing will be a shock in terms of how to work it. The only thing that I've found which appears to be different is that the backlight seems to stay on the whole time. There might be an option to turn this off but it hasn't really bothered me enough to want to find out if there's a way to turn it off. I also found that the range of compatible accessories is good for the Mosaic, I have the speakers and an armband for the gym. Overall I'm very pleased with it, I'm not sure I like the look of it quite as much as the V+ but it does actually look better in person that from pictures on the internet. I'm not a hardcore music fan so 4GB is fine for me but if you want more than 8GB then you might be better picking another player. I can heartily recommend it though...

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

My Experiences with the Creative Zen MP4 Player

...Last christmas, I recieved this MP3 player as a gift. At first sight, you can immediately tell it is a well designed product, with an intuitive user interface, and well positioned buttons. Setting up the device was also extremely easy for me. I just plugged it into my PC and it synced my music library within a couple of minutes. Video quality is also excellent, however I had trouble getting video files to play on the device, and I also noticed that playing video files has a significant impact on the battery life. Sound quality is satisfactory, good for the price. The device usually works well for me, but it has locked up a few times, however this is easily fixable by pressing a reset button on the bottom of the device.
