Reviews of creative zen micro photo
Creative Indeed
Review of Creative ZEN MicroPhoto 8 GB Black by
Hix2005
Advantages: Sound, Colour, Battery life and Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Sensitivity
...I have had the Microphoto now for 6 weeks and having tried out all the functions and getting the grips with it I feel in a position to give a realistic and honest view on the Creative Zen Microphoto. I purchased the Creative Zen Microphoto to replace my Creative 20GB Touch which I accidentally broke.
I shopped around for a mp3 player and settled on the Creative Zen Microphoto mainly because of the Creative software which is easy to use. Also the ability to use it as an external hard drive helps me keep everything in one place neat and organised.
The pros are the great sound quality, the bright colourful display, the mp3 player's software system which is very intuitive and the value for money of the Zen when compared to an Ipod. The build quality is good and feels solid in your hand and even onto the floor a few times. The battery life...

Creative Zen Micro-photo 8gb
Review of Creative Zen Micro photo 8GB by
sbrennan970
Advantages: Solid, reliable brilliant sound quaity
Disadvantages: Chunky, bundled software is a pain, touch interface may annoy some users
...I recieved my creative zen micro photo as a replacement for my late Ipod mini (4gb), I was shocked when I initially tore open the packaging with an unnatural force, inside I found:
*My creative zen microphoto (in black)
*Creative earphones (Quality wasn't great, obviously a knock-off of the
*Ipod headphones)
*Leather pouch
*battery
*CD with software
*cable
Lets start with the Zen, ok, it has no buttons and some users will find the toch-interface quite annoying (as my freind put is a f***ing waste of time) the screen quality could be better and the photo-display mode seems to be a bit of a gimmick, (the photos are blurry). I only really needed the Zen for music and, after uploading the songs onto it (this can be done with media player or the bundled software which is complicated and harder to use than the traditional itunes...

Creative Zen Micro 5GB
Review of Creative Zen Micro 5 GB by
01GrahJ
Advantages: Great sound quality, cool features, micro-sized
Disadvantages: Poor build quality, rubbish battery life
...The Creative Zen Micro is a pretty cool MP3 player for the price (£140ish at the moment)
Its a nice size (just over 3" tall and 2" wide!!), very easy to use, and looks good!
It has:
5GB of memory (about 1250 mp3s at 128 kbs)
Radio, address book and microphone. Unfortunately, the radio is not very clear without being in a place with a good signal, which is not many places with the zen.
When I recieved the zen, I was very pleased with the player. The software is fairly good and easy to use. The blue backlight is ultra cool and it pulses when it is charging or syncing with the PC. It has a very good sound quality, more defined than the other Creative MP3 players, The vertical touchpad is great, but takes getting used to. However, you have to put up with a battery life of 2.5 hours max, not the promised 12 hours at the Creative...

Creative Zen Microphoto
Review of Creative ZEN MicroPhoto 8 GB Black by
Jasmine1126
Advantages: Long battery life and very good quality sound
Disadvantages: Touchpad can be hard to contol
...I ordered my Creative Zen MicroPhoto about 5 months ago from a well known website, for about £120. The first one I received had a fault that meant it did not play any sound, the website I had bought it from gave me a replacement which worked. After researching on the internet I found that many people had the same problem with their Zen MicroPhoto which was apparently due to a problem in the headphone socket.
My new MicroPhoto works perfectly. The sound quality is excellent, the program to transfer music between computer and Zen is easy to use and the screen is clear.
However, I have found the touchpad hard to control, there is an option in the menu to change the sensitivity, but I have found this not to help. I have also found it annoying that you have to charge the Zen through a connection to PC which can be a bit inconvenient...

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB
Review of Creative ZEN VISION:M 30 GB Black by
fcberry
Advantages: Sound Quality, Photo and Video Features
Disadvantages: No charger
...I bought this as a replacement for my old Creative Zen 20GB Micro which died on me. I chose Creative again as I prefer Creative Zen's to IPod's for their functionality and music options ie they will accept MP3s, WMAs, AACs etc meaning you have more variety of where you get your music from.
I love the look of this MP3 player with its blue lights and high resolution LCD screen. Other people might think it is slightly chunky compared to other models but that's never been a problem for me. I think it's yummy!
Most of the features are the same as my previous Zen except of course this one is a 30GB (WOOHOO!) and you can download photos and videos to view on the extremely good high resolution LCD screen which is a nice viewing size.
If you put the lock on MP3 player so that the screen is not used but the music still plays the battery life...

Creative Zen Micro
Review of Creative Zen Micro 6 GB Black by
Mudchild
Advantages: Sleek and stylish design, adiquate storage capability, wide variety of colours to choose from, small yet durable design.
Disadvantages: Vertical touch pad can sometimes be a little fiddly, if the batteries are left in when the product is off, the battery is still used up.
...I have owned a creative Zen micro for about 1 year now. Throughout it's usage, it has held up and maintained it's crisp audio clarity, stylish appearance and practicality.
Looks: The Creative Zen micro is a very elegant and stylized product. It delivers intuitive design which is. at times mesmerizing.
The subtle glow of the electric blue back light and screen give this product a aura of style. The light up, touch sensitive buttons are simple and their functions are pretty self explanatory. I bought this product in black, but it is available in a range of 9 other colors most of which are bold and vibrant. But, in my opinion, due to the nature of the blue back light, some colors tend not to look as good as others.
I recommend the silver, black and white versions of this product for this very reason.
Practicality: This product is...

Don't Do Firmware Updates
Review of Creative Zen Micro photo 8GB by
chewyleopard
Advantages: Small, Holds 8GB, Good Sound Quality, Robust
Disadvantages: Tech Support Email only, Firmware updates, Price
...Great mp3 player had it for about 7 months paid £120 from www.pixmania.co.uk reliable & easy to use good sound quality from headphones but easily broken if caught on things while hanging out of pockets I've already done this once (bought replacement pair off ebay for £4.50 inc del) the player is very robust dropped it a couple of times still working they skimped a lot with the case they provide now it's a cloth one now on previous models it used to be leather one don't attempt a firmware up if you are using Windows Media Player 11 as firmware updates with this version can be problematic and can result in player not functioning at all visit creative forum on their website before attempting firmware update from experience I would'nt advise anybody to do a firmware update unless they really have to I've had it go wrong on two different...

Brilliant
Review of Creative ZEN MicroPhoto 8 GB by
little_emma3
Advantages: Looks smart
Disadvantages: Battery doesn't last long
...adapter for my car, so now I just charge it on the move. Also I bought a cassette adaptor for my car which I can plug into my Creative Zen and listen from the car. This wears the battery down quite quickly though.
Overall this mp3 player is brilliant. It looks smart, sounds smart, and has lasted me a good year and a half, and it's still going. After all the reviews I'd read about Creative products, I was expecting it to last only a year if that. But it has surpassed itself, and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a cheapish alternative to an i-pod....

Brilliant little mp3 player
Review of Creative ZEN MicroPhoto 8 GB Black by
Hazmatazz
Advantages: uilt to last, Equalizer, Long battery life, Good sound playback
Disadvantages: Oled screen! Heavy.
...This is one hell of an amazing MP3 Player, the audio quality is amazing and i love the 5-Channel Equalizer, i usually use the presets as they are good aswell. I bought some Creative earphones off ebay as the original one's had too much treble and not enough bass. This mp3 player is amazing and i use MP to move the files over. I have the 4gb version which i got just under 2 years ago off ebay for £50. The only thing i don't like in it is the OLED screen as i have heard that after lots of use, they fade and there not very good to use outside, apart from that the whole MP3 Player is amazing and it has brilliant battery life. I like the blue rim around the outside of the MP3 player which changes brightness as the MP3 player charges. Over all i would recommend this Zen to Anyone!...

Creative Zen Micro ideal Ipod replacement
Review of Creative Zen Micro 6 GB Black by
carl2005
Advantages: sleek design, looks modern, good easy navigation, FM Radio
Disadvantages: Battery life, thickness of the mp3 player
...Having waited for quite a while before looking to buy a MP3 player, I had been put off the Ipod mini by various reviews and also experiences of friends. So having read all the reviews for the Zen, I decided to go out and buy one.
To put music onto the creative zen simply plug it into a usb port on your computer and then drag and drog your songs onto it. As it is a removable drive theres no need to use software such as i-tunes just to put songs on the m3 player. The Zen is very good for transferring photos or any kind of documents without having to burn them onto disk.
The only reason the Zen doesnt get full-marks is the slightly short battery life, but I havent really had a good chance to charge the battery up for like a day. Then the battery life should be must longer. You can also record from the radio if you so desire...
