My Experiences with the Creative Zen MP4 Player

Advantages: Sound quality, price, design
Disadvantages: Few supported video formats.

...Last christmas, I recieved this MP3 player as a gift. At first sight, you can immediately tell it is a well designed product, with an intuitive user interface, and well positioned buttons. Setting up the device was also extremely easy for me. I just plugged it into my PC and it synced my music library within a couple of minutes. Video quality is also excellent, however I had trouble getting video files to play on the device, and I also noticed that playing video files has a significant impact on the battery life. Sound quality is satisfactory, good for the price. The device usually works well for me, but it has locked up a few times, however this is easily fixable by pressing a reset button on the bottom of the device. The screen is good, however i found it scratched easily in my pocket. An investment in a case would definitely be...

Creative's pride the new Creative Zen

Advantages: Excellent audio, loads of features, price

Creative zen

Advantages: reasonable price, looks good, dinky, good battery life, good sound quality.
Disadvantages: NONE:)

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

Review of Creative ZEN MX

The Creative Zen is brilliant little device!

Advantages: Small, sleek and lots of features
Disadvantages: Buttons could be a bit tricky at first

...I received this device as a gift. I was a little unsure at first as I had never owned any kind of MP3 before. I was very pleasantly suprised to find it very easy to use and that it has unexpected features such as radio, photo and video. Personally I often use this on the train or the walk to work - the sound and video quality is excellent. I have often watched programs downloaded from BBC i Player and the quality is brilliant. The Zen comes with computer software which is very easy to install. You can also use i-tunes with this product, which is very handy. The only very slight gripe with this product is that I found the buttons a bit confusing at first... although saying that, I didn't read the instructions! This is a great alternative to an i-pod, personally I think it is better - easier to use and with more features....

creative zen gives the ipod nano a run for its money

Advantages: large screen, good battery life, very good sound quality
Disadvantages: clicky buttons, can freeze and tricky to reset

...The Creative Zen, in my opinion, is a very good MP3 player which could quite easily give the Ipod nano a run for its money. The sound quality of the Creative Zen, I believe is far superior to that of an Ipod. Although it may not look as impressive, it is a neat looking piece of technology; very sleek and stylish looking. Also, It is neither masculine nor feminine and therefore suits everyone! The Zen also plays videos and again, the quality is good. It has a 2.5 inch screen, larger than the Ipod nano at 2 inches. The software that comes with the Creative Zen is really good, allowing you to put any file onto your Zen as it converts them for you. A massive advantage, in my opinion, is that the Zen comes with a SD card expansion slot so if you only buy the 4GB Zen, you can increase the capacity at a later date, up to 12GB which is better...

Creative Zen

...This is my first Mp3 player, although my wife has an Ipod mini. Overall I have found it to be a fantastic little companion on the train, out walking or just for around the house. Good storage capacity at 8 meg, and the ability to add additional if required. Size and shape mean it fits easily into any pocket and you hardly know it's there. It really comes into it's own though in functionality and ease of use. Very easy to load using the software supplied, and easy to set to sync automatically if required. Once charged it has managed to outlast any trip I've made with it. It also has a nice little FM radio tuner built in. If I had to knock it for anything it would be the headphones aren't brilliant (but these are cheap to replace, the USB cable supplied is a little short (3 inches, but again can be replaced) and it isn't quite loud enough...

Zen Creative

Advantages: Sleek appearance. Not an i-pod. Good video capacity. Easy to use.
Disadvantages: No case - screen scratches easily. No function to edit playlists without connection to a computer.

...In my opinion the Zen creative is a great alternative to an i-pod. Personally I would rather not use i-tunes as I find it zaps the processing power of my computer so having an mp3 player that doesn't require the apple software is great. Plus it is more unique than having an i-pod. I think that the sound quality is excellent. Both the computer software and the player menus are really easy to navigate and use. The video quality and screen size on the player itself are impressive considering the small size of the player. Furthermore the player is aesthetically pleasing and the background theme can also be altered so it is possible to personalise the display! I also enjoy the inclusion of an fm-radio function. The only disadvantages to this otherwise distinctive and well-designed player are: 1) you have to be careful not to scratch...

Creative Zen being too Creative

...I bought myself a Creative Zen Vision M to listen to my music collection. I chose this player due to the large storage capacity and video capabilities as well as the built-in FM radio tuner. Mine is the 60GB version, but the 30GB version is also available in a slightly smaller body. The player has a black front and a white back and doesn't look quite elegant. It has four buttons, each with an icon that glows a nice blue colour when pressed. Something unusual is that it has a vertical touch pad for navigation. I bought mine for £160 at the time when it first came out (60GB version) but the 30GB version seems to be selling for just over £100 on eBay.
