...Having bought this MP3 over 2 years ago now i thought i should write a review seen as it is 2 years old and still remains an mp3 with functions some companies have forgotten are useful. The Creative zen vision M was made as a competitor to the ipod classic back in the day boasting a 2.5" screen, touch navigation and most importantly a wide range of video support. Firstly the video support. This for me is one of the best features of this mp3 player, with divx, xvid, mp4, avi support it still has more video support than the ipod touch. This is brilliant, every time i download a video i don't need to convert, all i do is slap it on the hard drive and i'm good to go. Video playback is excellent, although it is only a 2.5" screen the colours are vibrant and although small details cannot be seen it is an excellent on the go video player...

Creative Zen being too Creative

Advantages: Lots of storage, Works as mass storage device, Lots of features, Plays Video

...I bought myself a Creative Zen Vision M to listen to my music collection. I chose this player due to the large storage capacity and video capabilities as well as the built-in FM radio tuner. Mine is the 60GB version, but the 30GB version is also available in a slightly smaller body. The player has a black front and a white back and doesn't look quite elegant. It has four buttons, each with an icon that glows a nice blue colour when pressed. Something unusual is that it has a vertical touch pad for navigation. I bought mine for £160 at the time when it first came out (60GB version) but the 30GB version seems to be selling for just over £100 on eBay. Creative zen

Advantages: reasonable price, looks good, dinky, good battery life, good sound quality.
Disadvantages: NONE:)

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

Creative Zen Vision:M - best on the market

...The Creative Zen Vision:M is the ultimate in personal entertainment. Although most people prefer to stick with the 'popular' Apple iPod products, i feel they are often excessively priced for the features that they offer and as such you are merely paying for the brand name. Creative's entertainment products on the other hand are packed full of features at a very reasonable price. The Zen Vision:M has several features that make it stand out from an iPod. Firstly, there is the ability to use the player as a portable hard disk, the capacity of which can be set by the user from 1GB to 16GB in teh 30GB model. This enables the user to store files other than the usual mp3 and mp4 files such as documents and other program files. The advantage of this is also that you can transfer songs from a computer that does not have the creative software...

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB

Advantages: Sound Quality, Photo and Video Features
Disadvantages: No charger

...charger provided with the MP3 player. WHY????? and unfortunately my old Micro charger doesn't work with it either as you can only use the docking hole to plug a charger in (which you have to buy separately - luckily they are widely available). I don't like the fact Creative have changed from a USB plug in to the docking hole as this is located at the bottom of the player so if you want to charge and listen to music and you have one of the cheapy docking station speakers you can't put the player in the place holder! These are only small gripes though as the applications and sound are excellent. Note for Creative, stick with the things that worked for the old Micro Zen (ie better software and charger) with the additional features and upgrades of the Vision (larger capacity, photos and videos) and you would have a seriously brilliant...

The Creative Zen is brilliant little device!

Advantages: Small, sleek and lots of features

...I received this device as a gift. I was a little unsure at first as I had never owned any kind of MP3 before. I was very pleasantly suprised to find it very easy to use and that it has unexpected features such as radio, photo and video. Personally I often use this on the train or the walk to work - the sound and video quality is excellent. I have often watched programs downloaded from BBC i Player and the quality is brilliant. The Zen comes with computer software which is very easy to install. You can also use i-tunes with this product, which is very handy. The only very slight gripe with this product is that I found the buttons a bit confusing at first... although saying that, I didn't read the instructions! This is a great alternative to an i-pod, personally I think it is better - easier to use and with more features....

creative zen gives the ipod nano a run for its money

Advantages: large screen, good battery life, very good sound quality
Disadvantages: clicky buttons, can freeze and tricky to reset

...The Creative Zen, in my opinion, is a very good MP3 player which could quite easily give the Ipod nano a run for its money. The sound quality of the Creative Zen, I believe is far superior to that of an Ipod. Although it may not look as impressive, it is a neat looking piece of technology; very sleek and stylish looking. Also, It is neither masculine nor feminine and therefore suits everyone! The Zen also plays videos and again, the quality is good. It has a 2.5 inch screen, larger than the Ipod nano at 2 inches. The software that comes with the Creative Zen is really good, allowing you to put any file onto your Zen as it converts them for you. A massive advantage, in my opinion, is that the Zen comes with a SD card expansion slot so if you only buy the 4GB Zen, you can increase the capacity at a later date, up to 12GB which is better...

...General I spent a long time looking around for my MP3 player. Both friends and family had all went for Apple iPods and the pressure was on so to speak. No question the iPod looks, well used to look sexy, and it had the backing of one of the worlds leading technology companies, but no matter what way I looked at it as an option it just not tickle me. I was on holiday in Crete last September (2006) and we flew through Gatwick, with a bit of time to kill I smoozed around a leading tech chain store and saw my first Creative ZEN Vision:M, and I was won over with the beauty, symmetry, and in general sheer simple sexiness of the Zen.
