Creative zen Vision M

Advantages: Large support for video, Reliable, Excellent music player
Disadvantages: Larger than most MP3 players, hard drive so prone to wear over time i.e. crashing

...Having bought this MP3 over 2 years ago now i thought i should write a review seen as it is 2 years old and still remains an mp3 with functions some companies have forgotten are useful. The Creative zen vision M was made as a competitor to the ipod classic back in the day boasting a 2.5" screen, touch navigation and most importantly a wide range of video support. Firstly the video support. This for me is one of the best features of this mp3 player, with divx, xvid, mp4, avi support it still has more video support than the ipod touch. This is brilliant, every time i download a video i don't need to convert, all i do is slap it on the hard drive and i'm good to go. Video playback is excellent, although it is only a 2.5" screen the colours are vibrant and although small details cannot be seen it is an excellent on the go video player...

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB

Advantages: Sound Quality, Photo and Video Features
Disadvantages: No charger

...I bought this as a replacement for my old Creative Zen 20GB Micro which died on me. I chose Creative again as I prefer Creative Zen's to IPod's for their functionality and music options ie they will accept MP3s, WMAs, AACs etc meaning you have more variety of where you get your music from. I love the look of this MP3 player with its blue lights and high resolution LCD screen. Other people might think it is slightly chunky compared to other models but that's never been a problem for me. I think it's yummy! Most of the features are the same as my previous Zen except of course this one is a 30GB (WOOHOO!) and you can download photos and videos to view on the extremely good high resolution LCD screen which is a nice viewing size. If you put the lock on MP3 player so that the screen is not used but the music still plays...

Creative Zen Vision:M - best on the market

Advantages: Loads of features, brilliant screen quality, value for money
Disadvantages: no mains charger supplied, headphones not great

Although most people prefer to stick with the 'popular' Apple iPod products, i feel they are often excessively priced for the features that they offer and as such you are merely paying for the brand name. Zen Vision:M - Over a year on and going strong

Advantages: Handles numerous file formats; good battery life
Disadvantages: Slightly chunky; not as attractive as iPod; screen scratches easily

...are to do with the screen, which seems to scratch very easily (though the scratches are not really noticeable when a video is playing) and it can be difficult to see what is on the screen in strong sunlight. These aside, with my Zen Vision:M being over a year old I have no intention of replacing it as every button still works perfectly, there is still plenty space on it for the average owner (I have about 15 movies and about 300 music tracks), and even the headphone socket (a problem on previous Creatives) has not given a single second of trouble....

...I bought myself a Creative Zen Vision M to listen to my music collection. I chose this player due to the large storage capacity and video capabilities as well as the built-in FM radio tuner. Mine is the 60GB version, but the 30GB version is also available in a slightly smaller body. The player has a black front and a white back and doesn't look quite elegant. It has four buttons, each with an icon that glows a nice blue colour when pressed. Something unusual is that it has a vertical touch pad for navigation. I bought mine for £160 at the time when it first came out (60GB version) but the 30GB version seems to be selling for just over £100 on eBay. Zen Vision M

Advantages: Feature Rich, Multiple Codec Support
Disadvantages: Small screen, Dongle, Thick

...This product is 'great' to just say one word. It is windows compatible, supports divx. xvid and wmv, supports very well slideshows and music libraries and has integrated FM radio. I love it - in fact for me when giving presentations its is a substitute for my laptop! (i just convert the powerpoint to pictures!) However if I were to buy antoher one, I would buy the 60Gb edition, since my Zen has reached its limit - something I would never imagine when I bought it - but I keep adding stuff to it! When I am to go abroad I use it is a video player, and probably it would do with a slightly larger screen. Another downside is the dongle which you have to keep carrying around with you, to charge the player, use its tv/out or connect to the PC. One last thing, its slightly thick so if this really matters, you might prefer an ipod...

Getting Creative

...First of all don?t be fooled by the low price Ciao has on this. It?s a mistake. The Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB cannot be found anywhere in the UK for less than around 130 quid. I recently bought two of these lovely little items for my boys aged 12 and 10. They were moaning about all the birthday money they were supposed to have received from grandparents, aunts and uncles that we had kind of already spent on various household projects without exactly asking their permission.
