how to get a high credit rating
Advantages: if you follow this info you get a higher credit rating
Disadvantages: i dont think there is any?
...If you really want to get a good credit rateing then try to borrow money sign up for new credit cards or get a new mobile phone and your ability to obtain credit depends on how you measure up against the lender?s wish list for profitable customers, to make this decision they use a secret technique known as credit scoring.
This is a risk-based, number crunching attempt to predict your likely actions from the vast range of data they have about you. The actual scoring systems are never published and change from lender to lender and product to product.
most people believe that everyone has a universal credit rating and that there isnt such a thing as a blacklist In fact lenders just enter in the facts about you as they believe them and work out whether to bother lending you money or not.
The blacklist concept arrives because...

How to improve your credit rating
Advantages: Very few
Disadvantages: Banks are fine until you do something wrong, then they become heartless scum.
...aware of. Every time you apply for credit, the lender you are applying with checks your credit history with a credit reference agency. There are two main, ones and I'll get to those later, as they can actually help you. What people are not aware of is that every time you apply, even if you are refused, it is logged with these agencies.
So the first thing you should be very wary of doing if your credit rating is poor, is attempting to get credit again, until you are sure that your history is as clean as possible.
Cleaning up your credit history is easier than you would think. The first stage is to find out just how bad the situation is. Equifax (www.equifax.co.uk) and Experian (www.experian.co.uk) are the two main credit reference agencies, and hold records of your credit history. You have a right to see what is held against you...

Vanquis Bank and Credit Card
Advantages: Gives credit to those who wouldn't otherwise get it.
Disadvantages: Very high interest, terrible customer service.
...stupid, but most people with no credit are young people, sometimes people who have come sraight from college, and need something to help them get by.)
Vanquis will give you this card, but at a VERY high interest rate, around 45% interest...this is to make them money, and to cover their backs money wise should you have any late payments in the future.
When we got the card through the post we were told we had a £300 limit, and that it would improve over time as we paid off the £300 once it had been spent, although at first we said the card would be for emergencies, it started been used as our wedding card, and covered the costs of our wedding which we hadn't anticipated would get so much, as we were only having a very small wedding; but this turned into a larger wedding, with more people coming, and then a big reception needed...

Vanquis Credit Card
Advantages: Convenient, Accessible to those with poor credit rating
Disadvantages: High interest rate and heavy debt collecting if you default
...cards and current accounts with debit cards. However, due to my seriously damaged credit history from defaults, CCJ's and arrears I have found it impossible to get approval for any kind of credit.
That is until a friend of mine recommended me to Vanquis. He explained how they had approved his application for a credit card when he had had no credit history and referred me to their website.
Curious, I took a look and was shocked by the high interest rates that they were quoting, however they claim that because of the high interest rates, they are able to offer credit facilities to a wider range of people, especially to those who normally stand outside the normal credit scoring process used my high street lenders.
I am not too worried about the high interest rate as I intended to pay off the full balance of the card each month, using it...

A Great 'DEAL' On A Credit Card
Advantages: Clubcard points
Disadvantages: Interest rate which kicks in if you don't pay the full balance monthly
...**
My sole reason for switching credit cards was to get a card that gave me something back. Because I pay off my account in full each month, the interest rate does not interest me, and I would rather accept a higher rate that comes with some bonuses such as cash back. The Tesco card I have (the Clubcard Credit Card) doesn't offer cash, but it offers something almost as good: Clubcard points.
Most people who shop at Tesco are familiar with the Clubcard set up which rewards you with 1 point for every £1 spent in store or at a petrol station. You get quarterly statements which give you vouchers to spend at a rate of 1 point = 1 pence in store, but if you decide to use these for 'Deals' instead, you get a better rate of 1 point = 4 pence. The deals are quite wide-ranging with everything from gym memberships to magazine subscriptions to...

Rated: NeXXXt
Advantages: Lots of big R&B tunes
Disadvantages: A few average tunes
...?Rated Next? was the 1997 debut from the R&B trio Next. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tweety, T-Low and R.L. broke through with the single, ?Too Close?, which in the UK was more famously covered by the Pop band, Blue. On this album, you have them do the most explicit R&B you are likely to hear, to get you right into the feel of what they are singing about.
1. ?Intro?
2. ?Too Close?
I expect that you will be familiar with the Blue version, if you don?t remember the original, but one this one you actually feel exactly what they are going through, and in this one, unlike the Blue version has them go at it with explicit lyrics to tell exactly what they mean when they have girls grind up on them for the slow dances in the clubs. It is a killer tune, and begins the album off in a great way.
**Five Stars**
3. ?Butta Love?
I would...

Credit Ratings- How to Improve Yours
Advantages: Having one means you exist
Disadvantages: In some circumstances, perhaps it's better not to!
...How to improve your credit rating
Some MYTHS about credit ratings:
1. If you don't pay off your credit card, you'll get put on a black list.
2. Black lists are shared between banks and other financial institutions.
3. Your credit rating is affected by other members of your household who have run up debts.
4. Your credit rating is permanent.
If you want to apply for a loan, credit card or a mortgage, the usual process, as we all know, is to fill in application form, and wait for a decision. What actually happens at the banks' end? How do they make their decisions so quickly about issues which are so important to us? How on earth do they know if we are likely or not to be able to pay back our debts? And just how much information is kept on file about us, regarding our finances, which after all are a private affair?
Whenever...

Understanding Equifax and credit ratings
Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op
...Well Equifax is a credit reference agency who holds all details about you on their data base.
The details they hold are what credits you have, any applications for credit you have made, your address, if you are on the electoral register or not, your previous addresses.
If you live with a family members, or in a property that is blacklisted this also affects your personal credit rating.
Why? Wouldn't you say this is not fair? Well it isn't and you can actually contact them and say you want the credit to be personally investigated by your records only and you can have previous members removed from your file.
Being in debt is not nice at all and I have been there and I still am now.
Many thousands of us over spend each month and think that applying for increased overdrafts, loans etc will help us, but actually it does not...

Some advice on the usage of credit cards.
Advantages: Can be worth while...
Disadvantages: ...but usually isn't
...) interest rate, and are used by customers to pay a portion of the balance (usually less than the minimum payments) until the customer gets back on their feet. However these to are a headache for collections, as often customers won't have had them confirmed with customer services (so theirs no notes on our system) so we don't know about the agreement until the customer tells us and we cycle back through their statements. Customers need to remember the banks don't want you to go bankrupt (because they get nothing) and are often happy to receive a smaller but regular payment than nothing at all. Good communication between customer and bank is needed here, sadly their seems to be a break down of this all to often with the company I'm working for. However a fixed agreement may look bad on your credit rating whilst it's in place.
When collections...
