Cariba Creek Waterpark

Advantages: Fantastic water cannons, lots of ways to get wet, the water coaster, hot tubs, great waterslides..
Disadvantages: ...And would love there to be more!

...The Cariba Creek Waterpark is the waterpark at Alton Towers. It is built into the Alton Towers Splash Landings hotel. It has many indoor water cannons, hot tubs, waterslides and even a water coaster! This is my experience. My parents and I were staying at the Alton Towers hotel, (we have the Merlin Pass so we decided it was worth going to Alton Towers.) we stayed there for two nights and on the second day we decided to go to the Cariba Creek Waterpark. When we walked through the Alton Towers hotel on the reception floor, we passed through some rooms than we noticed the carpet changed...so we knew that we WERE in the Splash Landings hotel. ...I’m not a very good wine drinker. Well, actually, I’m a GREAT wine drinker, in that I am able to consume great quantities of the stuff once I got started. Trouble is that I just don’t hold it very well. And the wine that I like not to hold very well best is Jacob’s Creek Semillon Chardonnay. I’m sipping a glass right now, in fact, so if I trail off subject mid-op and start telling you that you’re all my best friend, you’ll have to excuse me. Jacob’s Creek SC is from the South Eastern region of Australia, which is the area I believe most Aussie wine comes from. Not that it matters to me where it comes from – it tastes good on the buds and that’s the main thing. Wolf Creek - best horror film in years

Advantages: A clever, entertaining and different horror film
Disadvantages: May be too scary for some

...Wolf Creek is a scary little film about three backpackers whose trip to a crater turns into a hellish nightmare, as they're taken hostage by a rather crazed individual. The plot may seem the same as a million other horror films but it's actually a rather refreshing horror film which doesn't follow the usual formula, and may put you off visiting Australia, where the film is set. Although the film is slow to get started once the three backpackers are taken hostage the movie really picks up some momentum. There is a lot of gore and blood during the final third of the film, including a rather disgusting sequence involving someone's fingers. I'll say no more than this, as I'm sure you get the gist of it. Shot on a budget of $1,000,000, peanuts compared to today's blockbusters, Wolf Creek is a solid horror film with some good performances...

Advantages: Original, macabre and innovative horror
Disadvantages: slow to begin with

...There is a lot I like about Jonathon Creek but there is also a little that annoys me about it too. There is no doubt it attempts something different from the usual crime TV fare we get. Too many crime programmes come from the same template with a detective with personal problems who does not play by the book and gets results. The main characters of Creek and Maddy are quite likeable. A little quirky, yes, but not so that they stretch credibility. Jonathon is played by comedian and building society advert man Alan Davies and the rapport with Caroline Quentin who plays Maddy works well on screen. There seems to be a certain chemistry between them, not sexual but more maternal. Quentin holds her own and she is among the top British comedy actresses today. ...Alton Towers Cariba Creek Waterpark what a great way to spend a day. Initially the cost of the day for a family is around £45 but I thought this was great value for money for a family of four for a whole day. There are plenty of changing facilites and lockers. On entering cariba creek swimming pool you are given a wrist band, once you go down an inside slide your picture is taken, you check the monitor and if you like the picutre you scan your band and on your way out call in at the shop and view the pictures. These are reasonably priced. There is no time limit whilst you are in the pools. The pools are great warm, and entertaining and offer lots of different sized pools for different ages.
