Advantages: Very little effort required underwater, flexible Disadvantages: Not cheap, not the best for long surface swims
...My Mares Volo Power fins are among the favourite items of my dive kit. While pricey, they do a very good job, and make finning underwater incredibly easy. One of the few drawbacks is I find they're not as good for surface swims, particularly against current. They are longer than many standard fins, which takes some getting used to, and it's something to be aware of when you're near fragile coral reef. However, they're also ultra-flexible, and I usually find I can get back into the boat while still wearing them.
Initially I found the quick-release catch at the side to be rather cumbersome - the lock-unlock mechanism isn't very easy with gloves on. To be honest, I've now taken to closing and not locking them, and they've never opened up while I'm in the water.
When these fins first appeared on the market they were pretty expensive...

Advantages: Healthy food for fish Disadvantages: none
...I have had my aquarium and fish now for two years and from the start I have fed them TetraFin Flake food. (This was recommended to me when I bought them). It consists of, as the title suggested, flakes of different sizes and colours.
It is recommended that your should feed your fish two to three times a day, with as much food as they will consume in a few minutes. I have a fairly small aquarium with two medium sized fan tail goldfish and a further four tiny fish and I have always fed them twice a day with a good size pinch of flakes. They have always kept their bright colours and the water stays very clear.

Review of TetraFin Flake Food
Advantages: Treat as soon as you notice it and you'll have happy fish Disadvantages: If you don't catch it in the early stages, you're fish will die.
...If you keep tropical fish you will know that when you re fish becomes ill it is very stressful and you will want to cure it as soon as possible to prevent all of your other fish getting sick too.
Fin Rot is a potentially fish killing disease which needs to be treated as soon as you spot in.
The disease is a bacteria that latches on the the fins and the body of the fish and eats away at the scales and flesh.
So how does your fish get this horrible disease? Well it's down the the quality of the water in the tank. If you where living in dirty conditions then you won't be feeling too good so when the tank is dirty your fish will be poorly.
"environmental stress" is the wording used to describe the cause of fish disease. Yes, fish do get stressed!

Advantages: Classic John Lennon tracks for the 70's Disadvantages: Too dated for some
...Many, many, many years ago my husband asked for a particular cassette as a birthday present. I trotted of to the music store and could only remember that it was by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band and was called something like Shark Fin Soup. The tuned in and turned on assistant knew exactly what I wanted , 'Shaved Fish', a compilation of tracks by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band. I never have quite understood were I got the shark fin soup from but there you go.
Hubby always loved this cassette so, as the years moved on and CD'S appeared, he bought the CD version and it is still favourite play for both of us. It is very much of it's time but I still think it is an interesting play with some unusual tracks.

...I have always maintained that you have to go a long way to beat a day spent dressed in rubber, breathing through specialist apparatus in a wet, dark environment. A few weeks back my enjoyment was curtailed somewhat when one of my fins cracked open with a large split in them, now it could be argued that a split fin design is the latest fashion however that only really works when the both fins are a split design and the split in your fin does not get bigger with every kick of your leg. One aborted dive later I was thus thrust onto the market for a new set of fins as my back up pair are fine for the odd dive but not for an extended period of diving.
There have been huge developments in fin designs over the past couple of years, each new design making claims of better power, more efficient diving and better manoeuvrability in the water...

I used to have some Mares Plana Avanti Quattros (yes, that is what they're marketed as) which were very impressive but flawed in the comfort department. They gave me terrible calf cramp. After asking around and settling on a Jetfin design, I tried on some of these grey fins in a very eminent technical dive shop near Egham, Surrey. ...For all you lovers of sweet milk chocolate goodness Lidl supermarket offers a very satisfyingly cheap method of indulging this understandable craving. Lidl has a huge range of confectionary which is often emblazoned with mysterious and/or bizarre brand names (my favourite being Crusty Croc dry roasted peanuts !). If you can get past any initial suspicions then you could be in for a very pleasant and tasty surprise.
This particular surprise was experienced with Lidl?s ?Fin Carre Milk Chocolate? which comes in a handy 100g bar making it an ideal size for sharing with another milk chocolate fanatic. I was normally used to paying an absurdly low 25p per bar but on my last visit to Lidl there was in true Lidl fashion an unsubtle sign declaring ?Cheaper !? and ?23p? above this chocolate. ...During pregancy I suffered with major cartilage problems, that left me in a wheelchair for 3 months and unable to have a normal delivery. ...what himself would have Reuben never commemorated well, its wife of Lia falls in love with the diving teacher Claude at a diving course (played) by Hank Azaria already on the first day.
So Reuben must for not this catch his wife at the wild sex with Claude, and this even still with dressed fins this already would be enough but Lisa would like no longer back into her marriage suddenly and wants to remain with Claude in the caribbean.
So Reuben flies quite aghastly and sadly home and this without his still Mrs Lisa back.
