...I booked a city break trip last year with cresta holidays to go to dublin with a few friends. The company itself is a tour operator who is part of the mytravel group(which i now believe is thomas cook as they have merged). The company itself is actually part of BCT travel which consists of Bridge, Cresta and Tradewinds. Bridge and cresta deal with shorthaul trips around europe and Tradewinds deal with the longhaul part with destinantions all over the world. When i booked i did it directly with them over the phone but, you can book them through any travel agent (however going places are part of the same company so if the agency is going to do any discount they'll be the ones who if anyone can do it for you - from experience though, they won´t always be able to discount anyway so that is why now i prefer to book directly...

Review of Cresta Holidays

best choice from best western

Disadvantages: none that i can think of

...I live quite close to the cresta court hotel and also used to work in altrincham around the corner from here so our company used it a few times for training in their function rooms. I have also stayed here too so i thought i would give readers some info on as many aspects of the hotel as i possibly can! Location: Fantastic location depending on why you are wanting to stay in altrincham. It is literally round the corner from the main shopping street (george street) and is only 15 minutes away from Manchester city centre and 10 minutes from manchester airport. The hotel is also conveniently located for those guest wanting to go into dunham massey or other surrounding areas such as wilmslow or hale barns etc. There are lots of little bars in altrincham including lots of pubs, little cafes and chic little bars and lots of restaurants...

Some plus points but not good across the board

Advantages: Look good
Disadvantages: Poor sound quality

...B) and they sounded just as loud as the Cresta's, even though I hadn't touched the volume dial. So even if you're looking for highly efficient speakers, I'd at least audition these before buying, or perhaps just look elsewhere. Kef might have a good reputation but. on this evidence, it's not very well deserved....

...My partner and I decided to take a short break in Eurodisney recently. We found the cresta brochure in our local travel agents. Cresta holidays is a subsiduary of eurotunnel.We booked the holiday and paid for it and awaited until time had arrived.We were due to depart on eurotunnell at 06.06am on the sunday or so we thought.At about 8pm on saturday evening, he did a final ticket and passport check and noticed that the tickets were for 06.06am on saturday.Horrified I phoned the help number in the booklet we were given and spoke to an operator. She phoned Eurotunnel on our behalf and said that if we let immediately and got to the port by 11pm we would be able to go without incurring extra charge. Owners view on the Cambridge Audio A1 Intergrated amplifier

Advantages: great clarity, can recognise delicate sounds, for the price its unbeatable!
Disadvantages: it wont break any windows in terms of volume! it lacks any digital input!

...For a budget amplifier you get oodles of clarity! its punchy, and delivers the most delicate of high frequencies too.... i have paired it up with an old pair of Kef Cresta 3's and have used several diffent speakers and different cables.... the first lot of cable i tried was specially handmade gold in, silver out @ £600 per meter! and the current cable is cheapy £2 bell type wire, and to be honest, it made very little difference in the quality... maybe a tad clearer, but nothing vastly notable).. so as another plus, it will make a very low budget system sound very good! so positives are amazing sound quality, from bassy club music to delicate classical, it delivers all with a convincing realism, and thats using a standard cd player on my pc! its bass is very punchy if need be and is quite apparent even at low volumes!!! clarity is...

squeak piggy squeak

...both female (cresta and soda) were 8 weeks old and brought from a breeder they were long haired and cost £12 each (boys were £7) but unfortunately soda died at six months old (not sure why) so Cresta was left alone. I called a lady who runs a rescue centre and she had loads of adult females wanting loving homes and we just needed a friend for Cresta, so off we went and came back with another two a skinny black short haired one (blackie) and a tri-coloured absian cross (Georgina) and all was well for about 18 months, then blackie who never was very well, obviously been bullied and bitten judging by the scars, developed a tumour and despite £30 of vets bills she died. Georgie and Cresta lived quite happily until about 1 month ago when I found her dead in there bed with Cresta still cuddling up to her, not sure how old she was so may have...

...This is the the business centre of Malawi- bang in the centre of the country it boast some of the cultural values that have shaped Malawi to be what it is now. There is the burial site of the life president Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda. Unlike Blantyre or the other cities, Lilongwe is spaced out with clearly defined neigbourhoods. There are two shopping areas, city centre and old town. There are many up and coming places, like cross roads that has opened up more retail opportunities. Steers, Pizza Inn and Cresta hotels have all moved in and there are many privately owned businesses- shops, toys fun and games. Good but not great

...I took my first ever flight with British Airways recently on their Birmingham/Amsterdam service. My partner Jayne and I had arranged a short break holiday in Amsterdam with Cresta holidays and BA were the airline used. As I don't fly for work (I should be so lucky), all my previous flights have been with charter airlines such as Air2000. Jayne and I arrived early (4.45 am) at the BA check-ins at Birmingham's Eurohub. The first thing we learned is that with regular services as opposed to charter flights, less time is allowed for boarding. The check-in desks didn't actually open until an hour before the flight was due to depart (6.45 a.m.), so we could have had an extra hour in bed. Oh well, you live and learn.
