Cricket 2002 raises the bar - finally

Advantages: Great graphics, no big technical bugs involved.
Disadvantages: Takes very long between balls, bowling can get boring.

...make your own player is by changing a current players name, but you can't change the players looks, skill, bowling style. If Mark Waugh were to be dropped for Darren Lehmann now, you would have to have Lehmann a stroke player, an opener in the one dayers, and a slips fieldsman. Note that they still have the Waughs in the one dayers. The range of players isn't all that great, and maybe EA Sports could think about a way of updating that, like they had with FIFA 2002. In the end, you would find that this game can get a bit hard, or a bit easy, depending on who you are playing. A lot of the time you wouldn't know whether you are going to win or lose in your game, but that's what cricket is all about....

Thats Cricket

Advantages: Excellent graphics, The best cricket game out there
Disadvantages: Number of bugs

...So crickets not the most popular sport in England; many people think of it as boreing and who can blame them when half the test matches finish in draws or defeats for England!?. However the one day game is much more attractive and on a strategic and skill level i feel cricket is way above football, rugby or probably any other sport. That said I am a cricket fan and the current world cup was just what was needed to regain my interest. Despite Englands early departure (due to politics i might add!) its been an entertaining world cup with a few upsets and some great games. In this frame of mind i felt i needed to buy a cricket game (so i could get personal revenge on the Aussies) - EA Cricket 2002 is currently the best on offer. ...After seeing the name EA Sports I was somewhat sure that the product is going to be something extra ordinary. And trust me, it is. CRICKET 2002 is a complete entertainer. It has world cup mode, tournament mode, friendly more, and of course, training ground mode. Using it for the first time could be difficult, as you may have to constantly look at your controls to get adjusted with the keys. But you can customize the keys anytime you want, to have a better “grip” over the game. This game runs in almost all types of operating systems, at least I’ve seen it running in three different OS. Flick Cricket Game

Advantages: An iPhone cricket game...
Disadvantages: ...very basic

...You may have noticed I've written the odd review or two about iPhone application games in recent weeks...and you'd be right. So here's another one - Flick Cricket. There's a game doing the rounds on the internet called Stick Cricket which is extremely addictive and enjoyable...unfortunately the Flick version is completely different, and not quite up to the same standard; but then again this application is free for all you good, good iPhone users. The game is based on a six-over match, where the user always bats first and then attempts to defend the total as the 'computer' chases it down. On the main menu there are a couple of options - Quick Facebook Game, New Normal Game, Continue Game and Connect with Facebook. Now, I've not delved into the world of the Facebook options, but I believe it allows you to upload photos for players...

It's good, but it's not quite cricket !

Advantages: Decent graphics, Variety of tournaments
Disadvantages: Too easy in limited overs mode, lack of realisim

...I'm a real cricket fan. I love the game. The longer the format the better. For as long as I've played games (which goes back to before the Playstation was a twinkle in Sony's eye) I've looked for a cricket game that can bring that intensivity, that strategy, that feeling of being in at the crease with your team 80 for 8 chasing a mere 120 for victory...... Sadly this game doesn't deliver it. What it does deliver is a highly playable game. There are a range of teams you can choose to be or play against in a range of cups and tournaments. You can choose anything from a 10 over a side bash to a full test match. The limited overs stuff is what will entertain the gamer whereas the test matches are for the cricket fans. In the limited overs games I find it riduculously easy to score at 10 an over plus, even against the tougher...

Advantages: Animals in a Beautiful Setting

Just south of the A30 between Chard and Crewkerne, in Somerset. It is well sign posted from the main road. ...Forget Brian Lara Cricket. Don't even think about the new Cricket 2005 from EA Sports. This is where it all began! EA Sports original production - Cricket 97. Giving Brian Lara A Run For His Money

Advantages: Brought some variety into Cricket games
Disadvantages: Controls are quite difficult

...For years there was only one game for fans of cricket. No other game ever game close to Brian Lara cricket and like Lomu Rugby, code masters had that corner of the market sewn up. That was until EA sports decided to start making cricket games to rival Lara cricket. I have to admit that Cricket on a console does sound rather boring and if I?m totally honest for the most part it actually is. The main appeal of this type of game is in the multiplayer rather than playing against the computer. The game itself features 12 international teams including the likes of Australia and India. There are also 6 all star and alternative teams, which can be unlocked the better you do in the rest of the game. You can also choose from 22 different international stadiums where you want the game to be played. So whether you wish to play at Lords or in Cape...

The Cricketers Pub

Advantages: large garden, BBQ's held on Sunday, cheap drinks, friendly atmosphere

...The Cricketers Pub is located in the village of River, just outside Dover. It is located right next door to Crabble Cricket, Football and Rugby Grounds. I like the Cricketers pub as it certainly has a village feel to it, and you tend to get a good crowd of people in here because it is not in the main town, and doesnt attract young drunks! The Pub The bar inside is fairly large with plenty of seating. There is a large plasma TV which shows various sporting events such as football, tennis and rugby games. There is a lower level to the bar area, and in here are a couple of gaming machines as well as pool tables. In one corner there is also a dart board. To the left of the pool tables, is a small corridor which leads out to the male and female toilets. If you walk past the toilets, you will find yourself in the pub garden. There is...
