...Ashes cricket 2009 is as you might expect a cricketing game for the Nintendo Wii loosely based around the 2009 ashes series in England. Now there was quite some hype around this game when it came out, as people had been petitioning Nintendo to come up with a cricket game on the Wii with websites set up to this end, so this game has a lot to live up to.
The game itself is released by codemasters, who are responsible for most of the cricketing games across many consoles over the past number of years, so this all augers well for the game itself. It cost me £25 when it was released from Play.com, however I believe that you can now pick it up around £10-£15 in many high street stores as well as online.

...The BBC sit-com To The Manor Born, starring Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles, was filmed at Cricket St Thomas. The lovely valley setting of the grounds is where you will find the Wildlife Park. Just south of the A30 between Chard and Crewkerne, in Somerset. It is well sign posted from the main road.

The Boots Company PLC is a chain of high street stores known for their pharmacy and beauty/health products. You can find a Boots on just about every high street in Britain. In fact Boots has approximately 1,500 stores in the UK and abroad. This is the thing I like most about it, you are always guaranteed to find a store wherever you are in the country which makes it easy when you need to buy a repeat brand or just need to pop into one quickly because you have left your toothbrush at home on a weekend away.

...You may have noticed I've written the odd review or two about iPhone application games in recent weeks...and you'd be right. So here's another one - Flick Cricket.
There's a game doing the rounds on the internet called Stick Cricket which is extremely addictive and enjoyable...unfortunately the Flick version is completely different, and not quite up to the same standard; but then again this application is free for all you good, good iPhone users.
The game is based on a six-over match, where the user always bats first and then attempts to defend the total as the 'computer' chases it down. On the main menu there are a couple of options - Quick Facebook Game, New Normal Game, Continue Game and Connect with Facebook. Now, I've not delved into the world of the Facebook options, but I believe it allows you to upload photos for players...

...The Nintendo Wii has become somewhat of a phenomenon over the last few years. I myself bought my console this year and have become an addict. I even have a Wii Fit and balance board.
Sports are a highlight in my life. I play golf, and enjoy playing golf on my Wii. What I feel the Wii has been crying out for for such a long time now, particularly with its unique control system, is a game concerning my favourite game, cricket.
I have played cricket on computer and games system for quite some time. First there was Brian Lara Cricket, then Brian Lara 2005, then Brian Lara 2008. I never really had too much time for the EA Sports versions of cricket (the one thing that my versions had in common was that they were all developed by Codemasters).
This year Codemasters have produced yet another game. It is designed for various platforms...

...The Cricketers Pub is located in the village of River, just outside Dover. It is located right next door to Crabble Cricket, Football and Rugby Grounds.
I like the Cricketers pub as it certainly has a village feel to it, and you tend to get a good crowd of people in here because it is not in the main town, and doesnt attract young drunks!

The bar inside is fairly large with plenty of seating. There is a large plasma TV which shows various sporting events such as football, tennis and rugby games. There is a lower level to the bar area, and in here are a couple of gaming machines as well as pool tables. In one corner there is also a dart board. ...I saw the Horizon documentary and have been dedicated to the full Boots range ever since - but I did find it difficult to know which product to use where - although the eye product was pretty clear. I used the Serum around my eyes and around my lips where lining was and likely to grow worse. Day cream went on the rest of my face and ditto night cream.
However last week when I started to apply the eye cream it instantly stung and I had to wipe it off - I tentatively started on the lip area with the same effect - disaster - the following morning my face looked desperate - the wrinkles I was trying to prevent had arrived all at once and 300% more - I had become allergic to it. Boots advised me to return unopened bottles and gave me my money back - but what to use now?
It has taken a week for my skin to begin to return to normal...
