...So, from reviewing wonderful TV specials, to something I've become more accustomed to reviewing in recent months...yes, it's something sweet. Or more specifically, the Toffee Crisp. Made by Nestlé and wrapped in the very familiar bright orange packaging which anyone could notice on the shelf in the supermarket, it's a cylindrical chocolate bar which does exactly what it says on the tin...or wrapper if you will. Full of toffee and full of crispy pieces. Now, here's a brief history lesson for you - Toffee Crisp chocolate bars were first produced in the United Kingdom in 1963 and was originally made by Rowntree. Wow. That's about as exciting as it gets, so I'll move on... A typical Toffee Crisp bar contains 13.5g of fat, 9.5g of which is the saturated kind and has 228 calories, which is roughly 11% of an adult's recommended daily...

A nice Crisp

Advantages: Just a nice crisp

...At around 45p a packet I guess Walkers crisps are reasonable value for money, although the new Grab bag and Family bags do offer slightly better value if you are into crisps, and sharing. Quality wise there are few other brands that can truly compare to Walkers, whose various varieties are of an exceptional standard. Quality aside though the quantity seems to be diminishing, or perhaps I?m just a bit more greedy than I used to be. I always seem to want more from a bag than that which is available, and although as I mentioned value can be had by purchasing the larger packs, I?m not usually greedy enough to eat a whole packet of this option. Seabrook crisps, yummy and tasty!

The best crisps ever!

Advantages: Great taste, crinkle cut!

...Highlander crisps, for me, are one of those special treats which I love (and being from Scotland, I especially like them since they are Scottish!) These crisps are so tasty. I think they are my favourite brand of crisps, even though they are quite hard to get a hold of! I don't eat crisps that often, but I went to Aldi's (a bit like Lidl) last week and I saw a variety pack of these and I just had to buy them! I used to eat them quite a lot at school when we used to go down into town for lunch. Not only are they called Highlander but they are indeed produced in Scotland in the lovely town of Bathgate. The designs of the packets are nice and simple. Basically the colour of the pack corresponds with the flavour inside. So inside the variety pack I bought the bags were red, green, light blue and a darker blue for tomato flavour...

Walkers Cheese & Onion Crisps

Advantages: Tasty

...I'm currently going through an addiction to these crisps, mainly because once I have one packet I need to have another and then possibly another. The extent of this addiction became apparent when I went through a 26 pack in around 5 or 6 days. -Flavour- I think the flavour on these crisps is quite strong and the taste does hover around in your mouth until you eat somethin else. I think it's this reasonably strong taste that means I can't just have one packet. For me neither cheese or onion stands out, it's a nice mix of them both - the way it should be. -Crisp Texture- I find that you can either get two kinds of packets of these crisps. A CRISP WITH LESS???

...This review is for Asda 6 pack of ready salted crisps. I normally buy Walkers ready salted or pom teddy bear crisps as these are the only ones that my kids can agree on liking. I decided to try and save money I would try Asda's own. Asda has introduced a new 'healthier' version of their ready salted crisps. They now contain 70% less saturates than before. This made me feel like I was a better mother for giving my kids something not as unhealthy as before. (I know it makes very little difference but I can always live in hope). ...Would you believe that Pringles have been around since the late sixties! Me neither, although it was not until the eighties that they took off in a global way thanks to the introduction of more flavours and extensive advertising. Part of that advertising is the mantra ?once you pop you can?t stop? that resounds from every Pringles advert. And never has a slogan been more apt, Indeed I often use the line myself when accused of scoffing a whole tube of the delicious potato snack, I take it more as an instruction than a warning and blame the advert for leading me astray, after all I am an impressionable chap. Tayto Crisps are made only in Tayto Castle in a little village called Tandragee in Co.Armagh. This is about 4 miles from where i live. So close infact i used to work in the Tayto Castle making them! The Tayto Castle was founded by Thomas Hutchinson in 1956 and ever since then, Tayto has been a very well established and a leading company in Northern Ireland.
