Crowne Plaza deserves another Crown

...a nice feel to them you can feel the build quality in the rooms the beds are comfortable the desk is made from oak tree they look and feel great. One thing that I usually find with hotel room bathrooms is that they are small and in fact too small I feel like I don?t have enough space to stand in them and that it cannot be comfortable. However the bathrooms in the Crowne Plaza are perfect they just look beautiful and posh. I had enough space to stand around; I had space to put my clothes and enough room to shave without banging into the mirror I guess you can get my point. Bed and breakfast As part of the deal that I got was evening meal and breakfast included with the rooms (We had to pay for drinks) but it was a very good deal. Don't waste your £ on the luxury rooms - Crowne Plaza Manchester

Disadvantages: Awful club level package. Decor not to everyones taste.

...before ending up at the Moat House Hotel, who kindly gave Amanda directions to the Crowne Plaza. Embarrassing, yes! This is not the easiest hotel to find in Cambridge's eco-friendly travel system. We found it, though. Eventually. And we're very, very glad that we did! We arrived, finally, in Downing Street - and located the hotel - an easy task once you know where it is! We pulled up in the front drive and handed over our keys for valet parking. £7.50 was an absolute bargain, and valet parking is always a luxury, as long as you've managed to get everything you want out of the car. We didn't, quite, - but would certainly plan it better next time! We entered the hotel at street level. To our right was "Quinn's Bar" - Cambridge's only Irish bar, apparently. ...There are two hotels called the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. As I found out at my peril... Ill explain later. The first one is the Crown Plaza in the City Centre which is the one mentioned in the other review. The one I stayed in is the one situated next to Birmingham NEC and is the one I have stayed in quite a few times. I have to say I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The most recent stay was when I booked us in before going to Prague. I had mistakenly booked the City Centre Hotel by mistake. I wanted the one by the NEC because of the Free transfers to the airport. On arrival the staff were very helpful in sorting out cancelling the reservation at the other hotel and getting us a room at their hotel. We even had a free upgrade and I dont know why! Crowne Plaza - I Must Go Back!!!

...We booked this hotel with a travel company, as we were booking a short theatre break, one night in a hotel , and one theatre evening at Theare Land. We did not know how far the hotel was from Theatre Land, but when we looked online to see the distance, and seeing how much taxi's would be. It turned out that it was around 5 - 10 minute journey to Theatre Land from Crowne Plaza. Booking was easy, we did it all over the phone, and it was a package eal. We had not been to the hotel before, and we found it a suprise as to what to expect. We did not have any problems with the booking. We did want to know after our booking how how far the hotel was to Theatre Land, as we did not have our own car with us, and we would rely on taxi's and public transport. Perfect break in Amsterdam's Crowne Plaza

Advantages: Location is superb. Very comfortable, great facilities and superb staff!
Disadvantages: Nothing, apart from the uncertainty regarding the on-line booking

...pastel colours and with russet paintwork on the doors reflecting the Crowne Plaza branding. The bed was extremely comfortable and furnished with a plain white duvet cover - it later proved to be a superb place to sleep. A very fluffy bathrobe was neatly folded on the bed, and there were sweets on the pillows. A workdesk extended to hold a colour television with various channels, some hilarious, and there was comfortable seating. Trouser press, obviously, and a very adequate bathroom with good toiletries - some Neutrogena, and some products such as "Dove" hand cream dispensed from containers attached to the wall. Very comfortable, all in all. The minibar, as Mark discovered, played "touch-move" and charged you if you so much as touched any item. I avoid these machines like the plague, however! So, just to clarify, the hotel used to be called the Crowne Plaza Hotel Edinburgh, but is now called the Radisson SAS Edinburgh ... two very different hotel groups, with very different brands and styles. Location, Location, Location! Location is a key factor in the success of a hotel and the Radisson SAS Edinburgh could not be better placed, standing slap bang in the middle of Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, with Princess Street (famous for it's shopping) only 2-minutes away, Holyrood Palace only 2-minutes away, Edinburgh Castle only 3-minutes away, and the famous Grass Market only 4-minutes...

A jewel of a Crowne Plaza

Advantages: Excellent location for the NEC and airport. Fantastic customer service.

...I stayed at this hotel in November 2006 as I was in Birmingham for a business conference which was being staged at the NEC. As normal our company travel agent (who shall remain nameless) messed up the booking and despite being asked to book this hotel (complete with postal code) had managed to book my colleague and I into the city centre Crowne Plaza. On arrival and discovery of the mix up we steeled ourselves for a fight (mainly with the travel agent to try and get them to sort out the mess they had created - not for the first time!) However it was completely unneccesary. The hotel staff were fantastic and arranged a transfer with the other hotel and booked us into two beautiful suites. The Holiday Inn was rebranded a Crowne Plaza several years ago but people locally still refer to it as the Holiday Inn. During 2004, I stayed at several hotels in Bahrain, including the Crowne Plaza.
