...Bahrain is a casual, relaxed, easy-going place where things move slowly, even time. The Holiday Inn was rebranded a Crowne Plaza several years ago but people locally still refer to it as the Holiday Inn. During 2004, I stayed at several hotels in Bahrain, including the Crowne Plaza. It was not my favourite, the rooms are basic and both the décor and the furniture look like they have not been updated since the eighties. The people, however, were nice and the restaurants, in particular, are second to none! Location The Crowne Plaza is located at a corner of the city, in an area known as the Diplomatic Area, just after crossing from the airport onto the main island. ...We booked this hotel with a travel company, as we were booking a short theatre break, one night in a hotel , and one theatre evening at Theare Land. We did not know how far the hotel was from Theatre Land, but when we looked online to see the distance, and seeing how much taxi's would be. It turned out that it was around 5 - 10 minute journey to Theatre Land from Crowne Plaza. Booking was easy, we did it all over the phone, and it was a package eal. We had not been to the hotel before, and we found it a suprise as to what to expect. We did not have any problems with the booking. We did want to know after our booking how how far the hotel was to Theatre Land, as we did not have our own car with us, and we would rely on taxi's and public transport. ...Amsterdam is home to three Crowne Plaza hotels; there's one at Schiphol airport, there's the "Americaine", and then there's the "Crowne Plaza City Centre". It's at the latter that we recently had the pleasure of staying. Five minutes' walk from the Centraal (sic) Station which, itself, is a one-stop, 3.90 Euro, journey from Schiphol airport, I thought that its location was absolutely ideal. This review breaks the mould - amongst other things. I am usually travelling with my wife, Amanda, and the nearly-three-years-old baby Josh. Amsterdam, however, is no place for a toddler and it was thus that I found myself on a trip away with two good friends, Mark and Chris. Oh dear! ...There are two hotels called the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. As I found out at my peril... Ill explain later. The first one is the Crown Plaza in the City Centre which is the one mentioned in the other review. The one I stayed in is the one situated next to Birmingham NEC and is the one I have stayed in quite a few times. I have to say I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The most recent stay was when I booked us in before going to Prague. I had mistakenly booked the City Centre Hotel by mistake. I wanted the one by the NEC because of the Free transfers to the airport. On arrival the staff were very helpful in sorting out cancelling the reservation at the other hotel and getting us a room at their hotel. We even had a free upgrade and I dont know why! ...before ending up at the Moat House Hotel, who kindly gave Amanda directions to the Crowne Plaza. Embarrassing, yes! This is not the easiest hotel to find in Cambridge's eco-friendly travel system. We found it, though. Eventually. And we're very, very glad that we did! We arrived, finally, in Downing Street - and located the hotel - an easy task once you know where it is! We pulled up in the front drive and handed over our keys for valet parking. £7.50 was an absolute bargain, and valet parking is always a luxury, as long as you've managed to get everything you want out of the car. We didn't, quite, - but would certainly plan it better next time! We entered the hotel at street level. To our right was "Quinn's Bar" - Cambridge's only Irish bar, apparently. ...Radisson SAS Hotel Edinburgh - 80 High Street, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, EH1 1TH Rating = 4 star Radisson SAS took over the management of the property a few years ago from Inter-Continental Hotels, and the specific Crowne Plaza brand. So, just to clarify, the hotel used to be called the Crowne Plaza Hotel Edinburgh, but is now called the Radisson SAS Edinburgh ... two very different hotel groups, with very different brands and styles. Location, Location, Location! Location is a key factor in the success of a hotel and the Radisson SAS Edinburgh could not be better placed, standing slap bang in the middle of Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, with Princess Street (famous for it's shopping) only 2-minutes away, Holyrood Palace only 2-minutes away, Edinburgh Castle only 3-minutes away, and the famous Grass Market only 4-minutes... Disadvantages: Getting to the pools becomes a bit tiresome after a while!

...Without doubt I can say this is the best hotel I have stayed in. I can also recommend a portugal based online holiday company who you get amazing deals with for it. www.strawberryworld.com is there website. We payed 500GBP per person including flights, and if you booked it through a tour operator you would be talking aroung 1000GBP per person. You get a PRIVATE taxi transfer in either a brand new minibus or we even had a Mercedes S-Class once! We have been 3 times to this hotel and I would have no problems going again. The Crowne Plaza Resort Hotel is based in Funchal (the capital of Madeira) right on the sea front with EVERY room having a full sea view, so no need to worry about being stuck in front of a noisy road. It has 9 floors and as round 1000 rooms but although this may sound huge, the hotel is actually built as two identical... Read review

...I stayed at this hotel in November 2006 as I was in Birmingham for a business conference which was being staged at the NEC. As normal our company travel agent (who shall remain nameless) messed up the booking and despite being asked to book this hotel (complete with postal code) had managed to book my colleague and I into the city centre Crowne Plaza. On arrival and discovery of the mix up we steeled ourselves for a fight (mainly with the travel agent to try and get them to sort out the mess they had created - not for the first time!) However it was completely unneccesary. The hotel staff were fantastic and arranged a transfer with the other hotel and booked us into two beautiful suites. I stayed in the Hendrix suite which contained cd's of his music, complimentary copies of Vogue and Q magazines and a corner balcony. We ate... Read review

...There are lots of hotels to choose from in and around London Heathrow, so you may well ask why I elected to stay at the Crowne Plaza, which is off the main drag known as Bath Road, and certainly not the cheapest if my recent visit to the Marriott is anything to go by. A friend was meant to be passing through London on his way back to the States the same night as I was anticipating an early morning flight to Madrid to visit my sister in law, and he was staying here. ...? A quick browse found little I really fancied, except a listing for the Midland Hotel Crowne Plaza – well saves me the hassle of trying to get it listed, I set about getting myself a room there. LOCATION Adjacent to GMEX and the Manchester Conference centre, about 5 minutes walk from the tram hub at Piccadilly gardens, 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly and Oxford road train stations, it is about 5 minutes drive from Mancunian way, 10 minutes from the Arndale centre and 2 minutes from Granada studios – in reality you couldn’t ask for anything more convenient. It is also about 2 minutes from china town, so if you fancy a change and don’t fancy eating in the hotel, there is plenty around to tickle your fancy from every combination of Chinese to Indian, to Italian to good old pizza hut and McDonalds, you really are spoilt for choice.
