Advantages: Free, easy to use - able to create professional pictures
Disadvantages: Some cool features that we can do in PS but not in GIMP

Viva Crumpler!!

Advantages: Robust and resilient, looks good
Disadvantages: Not waterproof (not expected to be, but would have been nice!)

...I\'ve been using one of these for about 12 months now. Mines the cream/black/maroon version. As with all Crumpler bags, it's very sturdy and well made, and lots of practical features but be aware, this bag is most definitely NOT waterproof like most of their other bags, due to the neoprene panels (the main part of the bag is made from their water resistant ChickenTex fabric). Not a problem, just something to be aware of. Also, as with all Crumpler bags, it is very stylish and whilst it's maybe a bit more expensive than other brands, you DO seem to get what you pay for with their products. This little bag has had some serious abuse and apart from being a bit mucky (it's cream in colour - what do you expect), it's in great condition. When I saw Gimp for the first time (after get used with Photoshop) I thought that this application is not user friendly. After working with GIMP, you will see that it is not bad. If your job is not image processing or pre-press, GIMP is one solution for free. You have all file formats for pictures, there are filters who work well, layers, transparency and so on. So, you have all main Photoshop functions and they work correctly. The negative part of GIMP is that it is developed for Linux originally and the application is composed of few separate windows and sometimes you need to look for them. Advantages: Free software. Very stable. Support for many file formats, and user created plug-ins (and re-writes!)
Disadvantages: May take some time to get used to.
