The darkest of crusades

...*The first paragraph of my previous reviews were missing, don't know how, hope the same doesn't happen to all my reviews. Dark Crusade is the second expansion to Warhammer 4000: Dawn of War and undoubtedly one of the best expansions ever. The best thing about this one is that it is a standalone expansion and does not require the original game to play. As most of the expansions these days require the original game, it is great to have an expansion like this one, especially for the people who are new to the game as they won't have to go searching for the original game after they get the Dark Crusade. The game includes all the races from the original, with two new ones added - the Necrons and the Tau Empire. The player will need to have the original for playing multiplayer with the other races though. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS...

...Trivium is presently one of the most well known bands out there. They are christened the "revival of thrash/heavy metal" by a lot of their fans. The press swoons around them, giving them more hype and praise then anything else recently. Do they live up to the hype? Well, not really. Ascendency was a good album, showing that Trivium had a lot of talent and can play their instruments, as well as construct emotional solos. But it was heavily flawed. It was repetitive, there was a lack of songwriting ability, and Matt's screams were, at times, atrocious. I was really hoping the Crusade would capitalise on that potential and I actually expected a great album. But did Trivium choose to capitalise on their potential? Doesn't seem like it to me. The Brilliant Crusade

...Since The Crusade was launched in the UK on 10th October 2006 I have read a number of reviews across a range of sites about this album and it seems to have split Trivium fans down the middle. A lot of fans were disheartened at the style of singing, choice of fact based lyrics and a new sound from the metal kings from Florida. In the bands early days there were a number of changes in the original lineup, Corey and Paolo were relatively late-comers having arrived after a number of Ember's songs had been wrtten and performed. Months of playing together, the Trivium we all know and love pulled together Ascendancy. Similar sounding to Ember but edging away from the metalcore towards thrash metal, the band had produced an album that was, for such a young band, a masterpiece in the making. Crusading success!

Advantages: Rocking / great if you like music with a guitar or 2!
Disadvantages: Bit heavy / will not suit everyone!

...I was fortunate enough to see Iron maiden on their world tour last year, on their final day at Earls Court. Having been a Maiden fan all my life this was the best I had ever seen a live band at, and when I heard that Trivium were supporting I had mixed reactions too it at first. So I brought the album to familiarize myself with some of their songs, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of musicianship and rigor displayed on the album. When hearing them live I was amazed at their raw talent, perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but if you like to rock out at a show, Trivium don't disappoint. I would recommend buying The crusade because I think every music collection should have a diverse range of music from jazz to soul to heavy metal. Elddis Crusader Superstorm

...The 2007 Elddis crusader Superstorm is a beautiful caravan. It has plent of storage space, inside & out. We have two kids 13 yr girl & 11yr boy & even they have plenty of storage even though they take everything including the kitchen sink. We have had no problems with this model allthough we had the 2006 model which we were not happy with, Elddis has rectified the problems with the 2007. Its like home from home & also tows like a dream. If you are after a family caravan & like a bit of class then this is the caravan for you. I love the fact that the kids have got their own bedroom area, so when friends from other vans come over, off the go down the back & leave the adults up front to have good chat & maybe a glass or two. The tinted glass is great to. You get the privace without having to draw the blinds. I can say that there isnt...

a fair critical analysis of the crusade

Advantages: couple of promising riffs and songs
Disadvantages: no song really stands out; two very bad songs

...with this song is that the verse and chorus are repeated many times in order to make the song last the 3 minutes. 7/10 11. contempt breeds contamination for this song trivium tuned the guitars right down and it can be heard immediately in the opening riff. the lyrics in this song are quite good and suit the song. a fairly good song. 7/10 12. the rising this song is just pure disappointment for me all round. the song is slowed down completely, i don't know if this is to try give the feeling of a pantera-esque rhythm or to just sound heavier but it does not work at all. boring at best. 5/10 13. the crusade at some point we were all expecting it. an instrumental song from trivium which cements their intent at being the next metallica. well here it is and for me is neither good nor bad. it is nothing like the metallica instrumentals...

Stronghold Crusader, the best crusade game out

Advantages: improves on the fighting aspect of the original, 50 fighting missions
Disadvantages: free build is a complete disapointment, as well as campaign

...Stronghold was a great game, as you progressed you went from spearmen to pikemen, archers to crossbow men and also you had a map editor, free build and economic missions thrown in too. The problem was you couldnt really have a simple battle, you had to follow the campaigns, the only level where oyu could was against the snakes castle in the campaign. Firefly studios must of noticed this because in crusader there is what i feel to be the best part of the game, a customisable battle, you choose the map, gold, opponents, allies, teams you can even make a map in map editor and use it for the battle. Stronghold players will recognise old enimies like the snake, rat, wolf and pig and if they're anything like me will be quick to fight alongside their old foe's. New players may recognise historical figures like richard the lionheart...
