XIOD 17in Flat Panel, superb budget LCD monitor.

Advantages: Great picture, very stylish, very small footprint, good value.
Disadvantages: Tricky to clean, unknown brand.

...I'm writing this review in front of my Xiod IM17SM flat panel monitor which I am absolutely over the moon with. I don't know how I ever coped with CRT! I had been looking into LCD monitors for a while due to a lack of space on my desk and the general ugliness of my existing CRT but was obviously put off by the price and wasn't really sure about picture quality of LCD screens. I was pretty sure my £230 budget wouldn't accomodate anything larger than a 15" screen (which would have been a little smaller than my CRT) but I was prepared to make the sacrifice. When I saw this monitor up for sale on eBay, I thought well why not, it has to be worth a go. I did a little research into the Xiod brand and found that it is a budget subsidiary of Samsung, who I knew made decent LCD panels. Whacked in a bid and won the monitor for £215...

Dell Studio 17 Laptop.

V7 L17FM flat screen/TFT monitor

Advantages: Good value for money, easy to operate
Disadvantages: Tends to "wobble" a little

...I've recently brought this TFT monitor as my two-year-old CRT monitor gave up on me. I'm not into gaming at all so I was after a simple TFT monitor with a large screen without paying anything more than £150. I shopped around for no more than half an hour before I found Misco on the Internet and was instantly keen on this model and its price. The item was shipped out the next working day and the following day I received the monitor and was not disappointed. The monitor was packaged well and was very easy to install (using the power and analogue signal cables to link the PC to the monitor) and it was up and running. I flicked through the user manual afterwards and it only confirms what I did. It also has a few trouble shooting tips. Good quality TFT monitor at reasonable cost

...I decided to replace my 19" CRT monitor for home use. Using a 17" TFT at work, I found the resolution ont hat more than adequate. Research on prices on the web showed that this Digimate monitor was the most reasonable, with the right features. I was particularly attracted by the angle adjustment, and the built-in speakers. Automatically configures itself the right display rotating itself is necessary and changing the H and V position. the monitor is flicker free and runs ok at 75HZ However there are no drivers with the monitor so I thought it would be already in windows XP, I was wrong. without getting the drivers colors are limited to 16 and a display picture of 800X600, as you can guess it doesn?t look very good. you can download the drivers off the internet or wing CTX to send you one first class. I would seriously recommend this monitor to someone that is looking for a cheap well made 15" TFT....

Superb 17 Inch Flat Screen

...I recently upgraded my office computer display to a flat screen. The choice wasn't large but the quality of the products on offer was superb. I choice the Belinea 10 17 10 TFT flat screen, resolution 1280 x 1024 with built in speakers, because it looked professional and was the most cost effective I could find. I have been using the display for 1 week now and cannot fault it. Although it is not until you see a traditional monitor that you appreciate the desk space being saved. Indeed my desk looks less cluttered with just as much 'work in progress' as before. Tip – Read the instructions that come with the panel. It does not come with software, which must be downloaded from the web site but at least that ensures the most recent versions. As for setting the equipment up, I spent less than 10 minutes playing...

...I knew from the outset that i would be one of those paranoid mum's constantly worrying about my baby & wondering if he was still breathing through the night, so I invested in the Angelcare monitor with movement sensor mat. The set includes a 'baby unit', 'parent unit' & movement sensor mat. The mat is placed under baby's mattress (if like mine, the base of the cot is slatted, or you're using it in such a moses basket, then you will need to place the mat on a firm surface such as a piece of plywood under the mattress), & is so sensitive that it can detect even the lightest of breathing. The mat connects to the baby unit which then transmits to the parent unit. Good cheap baby monitors (Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance Monitor)

Advantages: 100% portable, mains or battery powered, good solid units
