Advantages: Good, well crafted bitter, with a well balanced taste.
Disadvantages: Not in the same league as Sneck Lifter.

...After my recent praise of Jennings Sneck Lifter, we came across another of their beers while out on a tour of the area a week or so ago. We were rating various pubs in our CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) branch area and stopped at The White Horse at Woolley Moor (a village between Chesterfield and Alfreton in Derbyshire). They usually have a good selection of beers and we each chose a different one ~ I opted for Jennings Cumberland Ale. ~~~THE BREWERY. They're anything but Cumberland

Advantages: Okay for a plain sausage
Disadvantages: Not spicy enough to be Cumberland

...Asda Cumberland Sausages, well in my opinion they should be sued under the trades descriptions act because Cumberland sausage they are most certainly not! I know living in Cumbria means that we are spoilt when it comes to Cumberland Sausage because there are plenty of places that sell the real deal, but sometimes it's a pain driving down to the Coast Road to buy a couple of rings, so occasionally I will buy from the supermarkets. This is the first time I've bought the Asda version though and it will definitely be the last. The sausages aren't to bad as far as plain old sausages go, but the first thing that differentiates them from proper Cumberland sausages is the skin, on these sausages the skin is very thin and splits easily, the skin of Cumberland sausages is quite thick and doesn't split. Advantages: Tasty, filling, low sugar content
Disadvantages: quite high in calories and fat, expensive too!

Advantages: Soft beds, high-speed internet, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Noisy at weekends, below average housekeeping

...The Cumberland is easy to find, the staff are helpful, and the rooms are clean. However there are a couple of faults. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told that my room had been double booked, but they decided to grant me a free upgrade. All good except that my room was now above the hotels nightclub, and I had to put up with booming music until 3am. That said, I did manage to have a wonderful sleep after it finished, and awoke feeling refreshed. The beds there are extremely comfy, so much so that I didn't particularly want to get up! The other thing I wasn't too impressed with was the bathroom. There were several cracks in the plaster, one of the lightbulbs had blown and the complimentary shampoo bottle was half empty. My advice? Advantages: Good for you,low in fat,not too expensive,FREE on Slimming World.Meat free

Hangover Prevention in a Tasty Pie!!!!

...We shop at Tesco quite a lot in our house and mum and me like to have a look for something a bit different every now and again. Recently, we came across some Chicken and Broccoli Cumberland Pie Ready Meals, which were on special offer of two for £3.00. As they normally sell for £1.97 each, we thought this was probably a good bargain, so we snatched up two right away. Mum doesn't like us to eat too many ready meals as she reckons they're not very good for us, but sometimes I think they're just so handy to pop in the microwave after you come back home late at night, or when you've been out with your mates for the night and you need something to eat in a hurry. These pies were in the chill compartment but they can be frozen, so mum popped one in the fridge and we froze the other one as they didn't have a very long date on the box...
