great cup!

Advantages: easy!
Disadvantages: may spill!

...I really like this little beaker! Both my nephew and my baby use these and they both got the hang of them really early on and with such ease! Babies need to learn to drink out of mugs and cups instead of just from a bottle. It's important they learn how to drink without just sucking at a teet and I tried alsorts of beakers to try to get my baby and nephew to learn this skill and none of them seemed to work. They both would choke a lot or just pushed it away and weren't interested. Eventually I tried this one and it's been the best we've had! It's easy to use, you just fill it up and snap on the lid. The spout can fold back to prevent leaks although it isn't fool proof and my bag is often damp in the bottom or my car keys covered in juice so be warned! I wrap it in a muslin cloth now when I put it in my bag-good tip there...

...The B Free (formerly Dr Browns) Bottle to Cup Trainer is the only cup I have succeeded in getting Leah to drink from, so naturally I am pleased with it. Although different babies take to different cups, this one does seem to be more bottle-like than any of the others, so would probably be successful for more than the average number of babies! My health visitor told me to start Leah with a cup at five months old, which was a bit optomistic. I've offered her the cup frequently but it's only now at 8 months that she is starting to get the hang of it, and the co-ordination to manage it herself. I tried free flowing cups first as I thought they would be easiest - and they are, but they are also very wet - perhaps fine on your own kitchen floor, but difficult to give to your baby on your friend's new carpet! Tefal quick cup

Advantages: Energy saver. Only heat what you want. Filtered water.
Disadvantages: Water not hot enough to make a Pot noodle.

...My son bought me this the week before christmas so I could enjoy it while he sunned himself in Moroco. Anyway to the unit itself. Well boxed so no way it was going to get damaged if posted somewhere. At first glance out of the box it looks nothing like a kettle as you know it. The only work you have to do when its out of the box is to fit the filter into the water tank. Its not easy if you have big hands. Mine are average and I still found it hard to turn the filter clockwise to fit it into the holder. When its in though thats it. You first fill up the onboard water resevoire, either by taking of the molded plastic cover and using another jug to pour water in, or you can lift the tank off and putting it under the tap. Either way works just fine. To get a cup of hot water all you need do is to put your cup under the spout...

...The Anywayup cup was invented by a mother who was fed up with there ebing more juice over her floor than in her childrens belly! They are a brilliant idea as they have a little valve inside the spout the opens when the child sucks at it and then closes again when they have finished and so no more spills.
