This is a very handy at a glance tool and means you do not need to trawl through pages if you want simply the current value for £1 or Euro in $. True, obscure currencies can be more convoluted to find but if like me you tend to only be interested in the majors, this is perfect. At the bottom of the page you can do the calculation you require with a simple to use interface so little need to get deep into the site. For simplicity of use, this is the outright winner for me and highly recommended....

Cool Calculations in Chemistry!

Advantages: Very useful, lots of practice questions
Disadvantages: Only in black and white, expensive

I have looked all over the book and I can't find which specification it is for so I assume the calculations in A-Level chemistry are pretty universal over all the major exams boards. (I am with AQA and the majority of the book is relevant for me.) The book is split into 11 chapters - from chapters containing basic formulae to chapters with more difficult aspects of chemistry. Each chapter has information about calculations including worked examples complete with model answers. This gives information about when you would use these calculations in chemistry as well as showing you how they are done before giving some problems for you to try. Advantages: Easy to operate, sturdy, no batteries required

...This really is a basic calculator with very little functionality other than that of the basic addition, multiplication etc. It has the ability to program in exchange rates in order to convert currencies a little quicker, but these would need updating as the conversion rates fluctuate anyway, not saving time in the long run. If all you want is a basic calculator to do your sums on, this is fine. It has good sized keys, and the solar panel seems to provide enough power even in dull conditions. It's fairly unbreakable too. ...I bought this calculator for my A level examinations. It is terribly handy, I do a lot of maths and be it calculus, vectors, complex numbers or statistics, this calculator will help you a lot. Not only does it boast 403 functions, and most of the keys look like that should be on a UFOs spaceship, if you read the handbook and know how to access and use the functions it is great. These functions are not ones that allow you to cheat ( sadly :P) but they do provide a good basis to check your answers, which can be very valuable when you have no clue whether you good be right or not. Also it comes with a solar panel, providing two way power, meaning you dont have to be scared about whether it would stop in the middle of an exam....

...I have to use a calculator at work, so when my old one finally gave up on me, the company I work for supplied me with another - a Casio fx - 85ms. I've had it for about 6 months now and I still have no idea how to use it. The calculator is approximately 15cm by 9 cm and is only 1.5cm thick.
