...I have minimal need for a currency conversion site so when I do use them for either business or pleasure I want something that is simple and easy to use. I have used in the past a variety of sites and found that many are complex or you need to get through a number of screens before you get the answer you want. This is not the case with xe.com, which has now become the sole site I use for this. First off, the name is great and very easy to remember. This might not be a huge deal for many but if you use a variety of computers (home, work, girlfriends house, parents, etc...) you need one you can easily remember. This does the trick nicely. .... however, recession was about to hit, and interest rates were needed to fall drastically to reverse the situation. this never happened because germany maintained high interst levels. so the idea of briatin maintaining an independent monetry policy is impossible. it will also react to the euro. however, i believe that the majority of people, myself icluded, think that the time is wrong to join the euro. for starters, as mundell pointed out, europe isn't an optimum area for a single currency. a major problem with europe is the lack of employment mobility, as it has been pointed out, the only real mobility of workers has been that of italian waiters! therefore, i believe we should join the euro, but not at the moment. however we shouldn't leave it too long because we will have to stick to everyone else's rules and not have our say...

...Only five Ciaoists wrote a review on this topic. I am the sixth person as at this time. So I wondered: why haven't we have so many reviews on it? The issue of Reading, Rating and Commenting on a review has been a long standing one. In fact I shall say right from when ciao was lunched. ...This op should have been a celebration of reaching the 350 op mark, although I have a feeling that it make court controversy, as many of the ops on this subject appear to have done. Rating is potentially more open to abuse than any other single aspect of Ciao, with new instances of "You rate mine, I'll rate yours" cropping up daily, spreading in the worst instance to clicking cartels/rings whereby a group of Ciao users will rate every opinion written within their circle. However despite this abuse, rating ops still has a very important function for Ciao, namely it helps to qualitatively rank users rather than quantitatively. Unless a user is exploiting the system via a clicking ring/cartel thereby boosting his earnings, the ratings he receives from others can greatly influence his future success at Ciao.
