Pataks Dopiaza Sauce
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...Pataks original curry sauces taste great, my favourite being the Dopiaza sauce, this is a mild/medium hotness. This sauce costs around £2 for a jar that serves around 4 people.
I like this sauce because it is a much healthier alternative than the take aways and it tastes just as good in my opinion. There are only 110 calories in a serving of this sauce which is really good for a curry that tastes so good.
Dopiaza sauce is a really nice and spicey curry that hasnt got too much of an edge to it, it tastes a bit more tomatoy than the other indian sauces and is my personal favourite.
This sauce has no artifical colours or flavours and is a really nice healthy alternative to other indians that are on the market.
Its really easy to cook all pataks sauces and they dont take to long to prepare, all you need to do is heat it up...

Loyd Grossman's Madras Curry Sauce is a hit
Advantages: Taste, style, convenience
Disadvantages: Hot!
...I was a bit speptical when I heard the Loyd "throught the key hole" Grossman was now producing sauces for pasta, curry's etc but my husband suggested we give them a try as we were getting tired of the Dolmio type sauces on offer that we always try.
We went for the Loyd Grossman Madras as my husband likes spcicy curry sauces but he did have a wide range available, such a Rogan Josh, Bhuna, Thai Chilli, Balti, Korma etc. The packaging was quite intriguing too, it looked more classy than some of the other sauces on offer such as the Dolmio as mentioned before. I guess it was a little expensive at £1.99 a jar but if you compare this to £5+ for an actual curry then it is a bargain.
When my husband said he liked hot currys boy was he right, this was a very hot curry sauce, you definitely did need a lot of fluid to help you get through...

Chips and curry... chip shop style.
Advantages: Cheap, easy to cook and delicious.
Disadvantages: Obviously not a health food!
...!
And now, after the waffle, I finally get to the product in question, this meal combines two of my husbands favourite things?..
The product I will now review is "Asda - chips and curry sauce".
Ok, so its not cordon bleu cooking, but it delicious and cheap, so that in itself is a start!
The packaging has the same colour and theme as all the other Asda own brand ready meals. The colour scheme is navy blue and there is a large picture of the chips and curry sauce piled on a plate.
There is all the usual information on the box, brand name, product name, description, weight (400g) and finally nutritional information.
This is a frozen meal so this comes in the obligatory plastic microwavable container with the clear plastic lid.
The meal looks a very nice amber colour, before being cooked, with a few of the chips being visible through...

Korma Korma Korma Korma Korma curry sauce
Advantages: Low fat, quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: Lacking in creaminess
...Advantages: Low fat, quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: Lacking in creaminess
I am a BIG believer in cooking from scratch and usually do.
As I am following Weight Watchers and trying to loose weight I always find that home made sauces are far healthier and cheaper than shop bought ones. Having said this to make a decent low fat, healthy Korma Sauce isn't THAT easy.So when I saw an advertisement for Weight Watchers Korma sauce I thought that I would give it a try.
I bought my jar of sauce from Sainsburys and it cost me £1.29 - the jar does only serve 2 people so would work out quite expensive if you wanted to make it for 4 people or more.
The tall, narrow 350g jar is well packaged with a distinctive Weight Watchers label on it, it also gives the WW points value on the jar - at 4 points it works out at 2 points per person...

Curry Heaven
Advantages: quick and tasty
Disadvantages: none
...I enjoy a curry, but not a hot one. Where as my hubby loves a curry that is so hot that while he is eating it you can actually see the sweat on his face, and he can hardly talk, plus it burns the other end the next day.
Patak is family owned. The brand is a household name. L.G. Patak founded the company in the late1950?s. He saw an opportunity in the UK market selling authentic Indian food. He started off with samosas, were he raised enough to buy his own shop..
He then extended his business to pickle, chutneys and sauces.
Patak?s original curry sauces are ideal for him and me; they come in different strengths that will match everyone?s taste (that?s if you like curry) there is:
Medium (rogan josh tomato 7 cardamom sauce)
Hot (vindaloo)
Red wine rogan josh
Balti
Kashmiri butter sauce
Korma
Madras
The one I prefer...

Patak Curry Sauce, gets the hidden chef out of you
Advantages: easy cook,nice blend or spices,tastes great,satisaction guarantee,doesnt require much effort,time
Disadvantages: might let your wife with too much freetime, and you ending to do the cooking...or ladies, you might love it too much.
...As a student in a foreign town,I miss home cooking.I used to work part-time in a restaurant where I picked up the idea a hobby of cooking, which at first was very simple:from frying an egg to heating up baked beans...to now, where I invite friends and have a nice curry. It's so much cheaper and enjoyable when it's at home and above all when you make it...but of course it has to be good.I found Patak curry pastes changed the way I eat and enjoy food. They come in a wide variety that I do not always have to eat the same curries.I have to say though that I am a curry-addict.
Well straight onto Patak's merits: It'd say it's a brillant value for money purchase.I buy my 283g jars for £1.29.They do come in bigger sizes and I do believe relatively cheaper prices. They are quite famous so you do not have to pop down to an asian shop only to get...

Curry night
Advantages: Tasty, great family meal
Disadvantages: None, unless you hate curry
...I thought I'd just slip this op in during a quiet few minutes over the christmas time.
It's my son's birthday today he's 23.
So it's a visiting day with the pressies and we'll come home to a quick meal. This is going to be a loverly Patak's Rogan Josh.
We're not too keen on turkey in our house and had Roast beef yesturday for our christmas dinner, it was loverly and there's plenty of it left over.
This is what is going into the Rogan today, then it can be warmed up later when we get home.
I love these Patak cooking sauces, they are so easy to make and the end result is a delicious curry that anyone would be proud of.
The sauces come in a little tin and there concentrated sauce, all you have to do is add the ingredients, for our Rogan I will be adding the beef, red pepper, green pepper, tomatoes, small chopped onion...

yummy curried chicken legs
Advantages: very easy
Disadvantages: none
...my boyfriend never use to like curry but now he has tried it he loves it and we love the patak's products, we like the curry sauces in the tin and they are great for all types of meat, but yesterday i impressed myself with he curry paste.
i was going to make a curry using chicken legs but wasn't sure about the bones and the sauce together so i decided to cook the chicken first
so i got my pataks madras curry paste mixed it 50/50 with natural yogurt and a tiny amount of water, you can use more or less curry and yogurt depending how hot you like it, i then took the skin off my legs, the chicken legs not my own ( ouch)
and i coated the chicken legs in the curry marinate make sure the chicken is well coated and placed them in a roasting bag, i then cooked them for 50 minutes, my plan was to make curry with the chicken but...

Chips and curry sauce please
Advantages: chunky, full of taste
Disadvantages: contains monosodium glutamate
...This 55g bag of crinkled cut potato chips is amazing! I first encountered them in Woolworth’s and I have loved them ever since. Although I prefer McCoys more, but today I was in search of McCoys but there were non in stock so I bought a packet of Max.
I opened the bag and the smell of spicy curry hit me and I just could not wait for the taste of them in my mouth. This reminded me of the love at first taste encounter when I first tasted these!
My mother recently worked in a Chinese takeaway (I’m British-Chinese you see) and late a night after work she would bring home a chicken curry and fried rice. The taste of it is amazing! Lovely comfort food. You are probably wondering why I am mentioning this, but the curry my mother brought home tastes just like these crisps, so they have made the flavour spot on!
In Woolworth...

Review of Walkers MAX - Chip Shop Curry Flavour

At last. I have tried a curry.
Advantages: Flavoursome, tasty, suitable for all Veggies
Disadvantages: Not to everyones taste buds
...Yes, at the grand old age of 28, Andycharger has ventured into the world of Indian cuisine and tried Curry.
Thanks to "the wife", Saturday evening was the time at which I took my first tentative steps towards eating the firey foods of the East.
I have been told Home made curry is something of a masterpiece when cooked with Patak's sauces so I was prepared to let her don the chefs hat and get down to it.
How pleased I was to try this. In fact, it was so good that we had another on Sunday to use up the leftovers!
So what makes it so good? Why is it so flavoursome and how does it make you feel?
Firstly, let me tell you about their product range.
The Pataks sauces comes in hady sized Jars. Just under 300ml each, they contain enough suace to feed between 2 and 4 people, depending on how hungry you are.
As all Curries come in...
