Advantages: Fun for a while, NOT spyware, toolbar useful if you like that kind of thing

...Some time in 1999 a piece of software from a company called Comet Systems found it's way onto millions of computers across the world...people had no idea where it came from and no idea what it was doing or whether it was safe to remove it. ...When something is given away for free to millions upon millions of people, and is allowed to be used on a global scale as much as you like, and you have permission to give it away all over again, just to add a bit of glamour to a web site. Something's not quite right? Well that's what i think anyway, perhaps i read too much into things, BUT! ...Comet Cursor... Where did it come from? How did it get here? And what does it want? In 1999, Comet Cursor, Developed by Comet Systems, suddenly started appearing on computers around the world. This software allows you to change your standard cursor and trun it into some great images, like animals, technology images, photos of famous people etc. This is the part where hundreds, if not millions of people suddenly hate me... I admit to liking Comet Cursor. If you have read the other revews on Ciao, you may have a negative outlook on this particular piece of software, but acutally I think its a farily good application. Lets take a look at how it works, what it does, what features it has and take a look at the spyware aspect of it... So, Comet Cursor, Where does it come from? Comet Cursor came bundeled with Real Player back in 1999...

Windows 7 overview

Advantages: Easy to use, Aesthetically pleasing, User friendly
Disadvantages: Not enough variation from vista, no desktop button

...over an icon, it then brings up a list of the different parts of this program I.e. different messenger windows, hovering over them will make that window display itself in front of all others just until you move the cursor off of the taskbar icon so no more maximizing and minimizing constantly. One of the better features for people who like to have lots of power and memory and not waste it all on just the operating system is that windows 7 can run on less RAM than its predecessor Vista and it takes much less time to resume after being sent to sleep. As well as a new system that is used to locate and install the drivers of any usb devices a lot faster than before. One of the big features that can help improve everyone?s experience on windows computers is that it has given us back much more customisation ability with new backgrounds...

Absolutely Wiicked

Advantages: Fun & Innovative

....99 retail price. It is much cheaper than other consoles, and it is much funner, even though i have yet to play the PS3. Also, Wii games are cheaper to produce and sell than PS3 or 360, so you would get most Wii games about £10/£15 cheaper than the other next-gen console games. There are a few downsides of the Wii, when i am browsing the internet channel, my cursor becomes jittery, whether it is my sensor bar, or if i need to adjust my sensitivity, im not sure. One of the main let-downs is the online play feature of the Wii, the first online game coming out is Mario Strikers Charged, released in late May, and there is also a lack of popular titles such as the GTA series. There is still great titles coming out this year for the Wii though, like Super Smash Bros: Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and the next title in the Animal Crossing series...

Redefining the direction of games consoles

Advantages: Some great exclusive games that use the Wii-mote and other accessories for a unique experience.
Disadvantages: Underpowered next to its main competitors and with weak versions of many cross platform games.

..., the Wii also has a cursor control and several buttons, including a trigger, for more conventional controls. It comes with a nunchuk attachment that you hopefully won't be flailing around too much, with an analogue stick and further buttons for games that require precision control. Accidents can, and have, happened with Wii-motes though and they're equipped with a rubber sleeve and wrist strap to stop them flying out of your control and damaging your furniture too much. Still, be careful; I'd recommend a read of the site wiihaveaproblem.com if you want to see what people have managed to do; be prepared for scenes of smashed TV sets, self-inflicted injuries and worse though. Even with such a revolutionary controller, no console is complete without its games. A couple of the most eye-catchingly innovative and popular are Wii Sports and Wii Fit...

Windows 7 - it makes Vista look like a beta

Advantages: smooth, quick, easy to install and use, pretty to look at, simplified for the masses
Disadvantages: Vista should have been like this - Microsoft robbed us!

The task bar has a new look and windows are popped together in bunches, hover your mouse cursor over it and see what windows are open. Windows media player is updated to a point where it automatically recognised where my music was stored (on another harddrive, not on C in ?My music? folder as you might expect) without me even telling it anything. You might well have seen some of the new features on the adverts. The best is probably dragging open windows to the edge of the screen, they will then ?snap? into place and allow you to have two screens side by side without the faffing around of changing the size and trying to align it all yourself. But there are many other simple features which are a pleasure to use. Very simple things like...
