BIKEmate Cycling computer - get on ya bike !

Advantages: small, easy to use, cheap
Disadvantages: not accurate

...After buying a mountain bike over a year ago, I must admit I hardly ever use it. This year I've started making a few changes to my life and one is to start some form of exercise to become slightly fitter - so I bought a cycling computer ! No it won't make me fit but I thought it would act as an incentive to get me out and about because its a new gadget for me to play with but obviously have to travel far to test it properly. Oooooookaaaaaaaay you're thinking ! but anyway, I ordered it from that lovely little place called ebay for £5.99 and thought what a bargain. Similar computers with only 9 functions cost about £15 in the shops and do less. So it arrives typically on a day I have to go to work and can't use it :(. When I get home from work I read the booklet - yes us men can read booklets its just half the time we choose not too...

...New website for cycling goods, I like the layout and format of the site. The live stock levels gave me the confidence to order, the stuff arrived in three days as promised. It would be nice if the mailing was faster, but the price was good and the delivery free of charge. The product images are really strong and amongst the best I've seen online. Most of the descriptions are good, but some are a little lightweight or incomplete. I ordered one of the ContourHD helmet cams, amazing price (£50 cheaper than elsewhere) , it arrived on time as was as described. Nice to have another site which looks like its been well designed and thought through as a alternative to the usual suspects (CRC and Wiggle). Seems that they focus a little more on niche products. ...I have used Merlin cycles for over 10 years and have always found their mail order service to be excellent. Goods products always at competitive prices. My first contact with Merlin was when I need ed some wheels, following a good review in MBUK I took the plunge and purchased a set and have never looked back since. Although they now mainly do their business throught their website you can still give them a call for any advice you may need or to check on delivery, something that seems to be missing in this new email world. Customer service with goods prices what more could you want. If you go up to the Lake District like me occasionally why not call in to their shop and see before you buy....
