Disadvantages: More expensive. Can only find in in 9 months + size.

While at home I tended to use a plastic bib when we were at home, when we were out and about I liked to use a material bib because this folded up and was just more portable. I had a variety of material bibs and the Mothercare Coverall Bibs were something I used fairly regularly and I still feel is a really good idea...

Mothercare coverall bibs

Advantages: Fits well, covers clothes
Disadvantages: None

...These bibs are such a great idea for when you are out and do not want to ruin your little ones clothing when you are feeding them. Normally at home if we are eating anything that stains or will make a mess on their clothes such as spaghetti I will strip my little boy down to his nappy and sometimes I will do it to my toddler girl too although she is much better about not making a mess now...

Excellent bibs for weaning!

Advantages: Saves clothes getting messy!
Disadvantages: Expensive to purchase initially but they last ages so you get your moneys worth

...When in Mothercare a few months ago I picked up a couple of packets of their coverall bibs. I started weaning my son at 6 months old giving him puréed foods, but now he is 9 months old he loves having finger foods and feeding himself, which gets very messy! He ends up with food all over him, all over his clothes, all over the floor and high chair! I have to let him do his thing with his food...
