Proaction Vacuum Cleaner

Perfect For A Small Home!

Advantages: Compact. Great on wood floors. Cheap. Easily manoeuverable.
Disadvantages: Quite noisy. Not massively powerful. Could be better on carpets.

.... The suction of the vacuum does suffer slightly when the filter is getting full, again especially on carpets, but on the positive side, it is no effort at all to empty the cylinder. The vacuum comes with a number of fittings that are all easily attachable and take up no space whatsoever. The vacuum moves easily and is light so it can be carried up and down stairs with ease. It probably won't last forever, but at £45 you won't get much better for your money....

Not a bad vacuum for the price

Cylinder for tiny homes

Disadvantages: Only picks up well with new bag; cable too short; hose slips out easily; bags not available on high street.

...We bought the Dirt Devil DD2420 for about £28 in our local supermarket. Our old vacuum cleaner had died, and having a small flat with almost no storage space we wanted power but not size. We recognised that you get what you pay for, but decided to give it a trial anyway. The DD 2420 is a small cylinder cleaner that has tiny dust bags. These are not cheap, at I think around £5 per pack costing about the same as the much, much bigger bags for our old vacuum cleaner. Russell Hobbs 13759 Hepa 1800 Cyclonic

Advantages: small, lightweight and a good price for a bagless
Disadvantages: RH have tried to be too clever putting too many filters in!

...Bought this from Tesco Direct on Wednesday, it arrived today (Friday) and guess what? It's going back tomorrow! We were quite pleased with it when we first got it out of the box; it's small, lightweight, seems to have good suction and although it wasn't as good as our dyson it seemed ok. I did the living room first which is a wood floor and there wasn't too much dust to pick up but as soon as I started on the stairs which is carpeted I knew we were in trouble... Firstly, I must say that the carpet does look clean. It has picked up the dust well, no problems there. The problem is with the filters and the design of the cylinder. It's rubbish!!! Whoever designed obviously hasn't tested it at all because if they had they would realise that you have to phsyically pick out the dirt off the filter with your fingers! It's disgusting...

Cheap and cheerful little marvel

Advantages: Small, light, quiet and effective - great value for money
Disadvantages: Small dirt capacity, telescopic tubes and head tend to fall off.

My mum gave me her Dyson because she couldn't manage with it; turned out that I couldn't get on with it either (4 to 6 new belt thingies per year and so heavy, unwieldy and noisy, while really not as powerful as I'd expected). Not having the spare cash to purchase a high-end replacement, I fell for this little Vax Mojo II a couple of months ago because it was cheap, small and light. I was a little sad that it takes bags as bagless seems the most logical and least polluting way to go, but they're only paper after all and at only 20 quid, there wasn't much to lose. Disappointed by Vax ...

Advantages: Plenty of tools and fairly lightweight
Disadvantages: Overheated and cut out regularly, filter needed cleaning too often

...Having previously owned a Dyson, I knew this wouldn't be as good! However, nothing prepared me for the trouble I was going to have with this vacuum cleaner!!! Initially, all seemed good - excellent suction, lightweight and plenty of tools. Unfortunately, after a couple of light uses, the filter became so clogged that all the suction disappeared. It got to the stage where the filter had to be washed after every use! The cylinder blew out a lot of very, very hot air too and, by the time it was 3 months old, overheated and cut-out after 10 minutes, almost every time I used it. It was repaired by Vax, but within another 3 months the same thing was happening. After yet another repair, and another 3 months, the cleaner became unusable! Very disappointed!...
