Dell Latitude D820 PC Notebook

...I left my old company a couple of months ago and took up my new position with my current company who very kindly issued me with a brand new Dell Latitude D820 laptop. I've had an opportunity to put it through its paces for the last 8 weeks and this review will cover my experiences to date. In terms of specification this laptop is much more powerful than my old one. For starters it has a dual core processor. For those of you not familiar with dual core, this means that the main processor actually consists of 2 processors within a single chip. Each processor or 'core' can be used to perform a different task. E.g. one may be running Microsoft Office applications whilst the other could be running an application that plays your music files. Nikon D90 - My Next 'Last' Camera

Review of Nikon D90

My experience of the Nikon D90 as an amateur photographer.

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens
Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode

... How I made my choice I recently bought the D90 to upgrade from my Olympus 560UZ bridge camera, so this is my first foray into DSLR photography. Most people starting in DSLR photography will opt for the cheaper D40, or the D60, D70 and D80. I am not particularly rich, and in the end chose the D90 because I didn't want to grow out of the smaller DSLR and have to buy a new body quickly. I have found that the prices of Nikon DSLRs haven't decreased significantly over the last 3 years, so I decided (maybe wrongly) that this option would save me money in the long run. I found that it is very important to go into a shop and hold the camera in your hands before making a choice. All the photography shop assistants said that the Canon series was just as good as the Nikons, but I discounted them because I didn't get on with the feel...

The Rover 820 and variants

Advantages: Cheap and underrated

These cars are well worth buying as they don?t cost much to keep on the road. If you dabble yourself then all the better as there?s plenty in the scrap yards! Known common faults. 820. Engine bay Radiator fins disintegrate to nothing. The water expansion tanks suffer from cracking and eventual rupture if not replaced. Every one will have an oil leak from the front of the head gasket(usually just an annoying seep though) Keep an eye on the dipstick tube as these rust through. ...In my opinion this phone is one of the best slim line phones out there out the moment because of its really smooth design thats like the slvr but better and slimmer. Also something you don't tend to see is a 2 mega pixel camera becasue of the slim design the camea tends to be vga but samsung have somehow managed to put a 2 mega pixel camera in which takes great shots that you can then upload onto the computer. The x820 also has edge which makes browsing the internet on your phone really quick. The screen is really sharp and clear. SGH X820 - The best ever Slim mobile phone by Samsung

Advantages: size, weight, performance
Disadvantages: My wife keeps loosing it in her hand bag

...It could be called the anorexic mobile phone. Had a "brick" by Nokia called N70, the worst I ever had. Had a U600 and a U800 both by Samsung, a gentle offer by the network providers. My wife had a tocco (pink) that she hardly could understand what the people on the other side of the connection were saying End up always returning to my dear X820. Light, slim, does what a mobile phone should do, connects to the pc via Bluetooth or cable almost instantly, the battery last for longer that you would expect even with the Bluetooth always on. The others models are good but had for some times to switch off remove the SIM and put everything back on again for the phone go back to work. This one can stay on for days that never give you any problem. The menu is user friendly and very clear, a nice screen, has the connection for external antenna...

320d - Potentially expensive failure

Advantages: Preformance, Economy, choice of trim, extras
Disadvantages: reliability - Expensive turbo failure, Rear Seat Space, Boot Space

...This is my first BMW, and I am sorry to say my last. The 320d has a reputation for turbo failure, which I believe applies only to pre July 2003 models. This failure can happen at any time regardless of service history and so cannot be predicted or circumvented and is a widely publicised failure amongst 320d owners on the internet!. The cost of repairing this vary between £2000 - £3000 and is not something which I would expect from a name like BMW. Other drawbacks include driver comfort, which is virtually non existant, after 15 mins in the drivers seat you rapidly experience another feature of the 320D - namely BMW "Numb Bum", which I must admit was not publicised in the brochure. The driving position is also somewhat strange. Both rear seat and boot space are limited and certainly not inline with the size of vehicle, and all BMW...

Samsung SGH-X820 - King of style

Advantages: Slim,stylish, good camera and extras
Disadvantages: small memory space

...Personally I love this new design of ulta thin phones ( a craze started with the Mororola RZR) and the X820 is probably the most stylish of the lot. At 4.4 by 1.9 by 0.27 inches (from spec page), the Samsung slips comfortably into pockets and wont look un-sightly bulging out of your jeans. In terms of practicality this phone has pretty much everything a general user could want in a phone including a 2.0 megapixel camera, blue tooth, text, MMS etc etc, I dont really want to bore you with technical specs cause it can put anyone to sleep.
