Great Wireless pad

Advantages: Wireless, dont have to get up to turn on/off console
Disadvantages: Runs on battteries so you need a plug and charge kit really

...of a button on the controller and we have one of the best pads on the market. It may not be as comfortable as the PS2 or PS3 pads in my opinion but it does fit very well into your hands and feels quite natural (if thats possible). The buttons are all in easy to access spots so you shouldn't have any problems using combinations of buttons, with the trigger buttons working very well in driving games with them being pressure sensitive. The batteries dont last a massive amount of time but a plug and charge kit soon sorts that problem. Overall one of the best controllers out there....

Fantastic 360/PC Pad!

Advantages: Great layout, comfortable and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Confusing marketing, crappy D-pad. (wires)

Avent Breast Pads

Advantages: Saves money over disposables

...When I started breastfeeding I bought the Johnson & Johnson disposable pads. They were great, but at close to £3 for a 15 day (maximum) supply, were getting expensive. After doing some research on the net I discovered that washable pads were available. I bought a pack of 6 Avent pads at Boots for £4.99. They are made of a soft material with a waterproof backing & have a lacy side which aswell as looking a bit more feminine serves the purpose of 'gripping' the inside of your bra to make them more secure. They come with a small net in which to wash them so that they don't get lost among your laundry (vital if you don't want one whizzing out your sleeve in public when you take your freshly washed cardigan etc off!). I've been breastfeeding for 3 months now & there's no telling how much money I've saved. Since they are not tapered...

Puppy Training Pads - Whatever next?

Advantages: They contain spills and protect carpets
Disadvantages: You shouldn't really need them if you follow the basic rules.

You can now buy 'Puppy Training Pads' to use instead. So, with a brand new puppy due to arrive I bought myself a pack of 30 pads (price £9.99) so that we could try out the 'modern' way. What are they? Very simply they are sheets of absorbent material with a plastic backing sheet which are allegedly treated with something to make them attractive to the puppy when it wants to toilet. The idea is that you can train the puppy to use these and gradually get it used to going to a particular place. Breast Pads for your breasts not your bra!

...I can't remember where I first heard about Lilypadz breast pads, but I can remember thinking they were an amazing invention and looking for reviews of them online. All of the reviews that I came across seemed to be American, presumably because this is an American product, and all raved about Lilypadz so eventually I caved in and bought a set of two online. For those of you who haven't heard of them, Lilypadz are a type of reusable breast pad. Unlike the traditional breast pads, which are either disposable and based on paper or reusable and made from fabric, Lilypadz are made from silicone. They are promoted as being soft and flexible (despite being made out of plastic) and they are actually supposed to stick to your body, rather than to your bra. The blurb says that they apply gentle pressure to your nipple which stops them leaking...

HAS EXPIRED Then my daughter started making noises about a night-school class in photography, where the minimum kit requirement just so happened to be a DSLR, and I got to thinking about letting her have the D70 for a ?song?, whilst good ol? I'd rather use a shaped pad

Advantages: cheap, easy to buy with weekly shop
Disadvantages: small in diameter but bulky and move around

...These Tesco breast pads are fairly cheap and easy to buy as you can get them along with your weekly shop but were not the best I have tried. The have a fairly small diameter which means that if they move around, which they do being a flat pad, then it is likely that they will move off the nipple area altogether and therefore be useless. There is a small indentation for the nipple which helps a little but the most effective pads I have tried have been slightly conical in shape - these pads are flat. The pads are quite fat which means they show if you have a tight top on. Not sure about the effectiveness of absorbing milk as I don't tend to leak large quantities. I also always found I had a wet bra as the pad had moved anyway. The surface of the pad is soft to the touch but I found that it tends to stick to the nipple...

Logitech Game Pad

Advantages: Good design, not too expensive, simple installation.
Disadvantages: Force feedback doesn't work properly, only average battery life.

...use when registering the pad with the receiver, and in use it switches the operation of the left hand analogue stick and D pad. As the name suggests the pad also has force feedback, but to be honest there is only a handful of games where I have managed to get that to work with any success. And even then it is quite intermittent. I don't know if it is a problem with the drivers, or it simply isn't supported in games or direct X properly, but this is a nice feature that simply doesn't do what you want it to. Battery life is quite average to be honest. In light use it is ok, but when my wife was on a serious Tony Hawks 3 session recently, she was going through more batteries than I care to think about. Overall it is a good pad and for what you are likely to pay for it you can't complain too much. There are a couple of issues...

Advantages: Very good quality cotton pads, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: None really, unless you eally want to start comparing them to the very expensive ones.

The only store that did decent cotton pads at a reasonably low price had decided to increase their prices - double the usual amount and making them more expensive than its competitor. They used to cost 99p for a pack of 100 pads, and when on promotion they would cost only £1.50 for two packs. Now they had gone up to £1.89 (!) per pack and were something like £2.89 for 2 packs - ?? I think many will know who I'm talking about... These are a bit of a necessity for me, and Iwith no other accessible shops in the area that did cheaper pads with the same quality, I was very much pressured into buying these for about a month before I stumbled into Wilkinson's and found these at 60p a pack!
