Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for
...There?s been a legion of digital cameras that have passed through my hands since they started to become a serious contender for 35mm?s domination of the amateur market. Going from memory, they?ve included Philips, Casio, Canon, Nikon and errr?..Nikon. Of course the last one, my first DSLR, a Nikon D70 was going to be the last; but then we all say that don?t we, lads?
What I really meant was ?the last for quite a while?.
LOOKS LIKE THE ?QUITE A WHILE? HAS EXPIRED
Then my daughter started making noises about a night-school class in photography, where the minimum kit requirement just so happened to be a DSLR, and I got to thinking about letting her have the D70 for a ?song?, whilst good ol? Dad treats himself to the later and much higher-specified D90.
Since I bought the D70 four or five years back, things have moved on apace...

Review of Nikon D90
Advantages: Good sound quality, Excellent re-route calculation. Disadvantages: Gets a litte confused in busy cities due to the volume of roads.
...With the low price satnav market becoming saturated, i found it difficult to find a satnav that would suit me. Someone i knew had one of the older Navman models so i thought i would buy the updated version.
Navman's new baby navigator, the S30 3D has its work cut out to compete in such a tough market, so it's good to see that it has got the most important thing right and set the price at a competitive level.
The navman can be bought for under £100 which is much less than the equivalent Tomtoms and Garmin's which start at around £150.
Its not only the price that makes this product better than the rest. One thing that you will not find on other equivalent satnavs is the feature that not only gives you the direction by voice, but shows the next direction with an icon in the top left hand corner. As well as this, it will give you...

Review of Navman S30 3D
Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode
...of the bodies in my hand.
Features I've used
Different exposure modes
The D90 has four different modes that allow you to choose the shutter speed and aperture, allowing huge control over the final image. With basic photography knowledge, I have managed to create motion blur with long exposures and out of focus backgrounds with large apertures. I also enjoy using manual focus.
Menus and buttons
The menus are well designed and easy to navigate, but you won't need to use them much as most of the settings have dedicated buttons on the body (I find the delete button particularly useful). There are 2 wheels that do different things in different modes, they became useful after a couple of weeks when I had worked out what they did in each mode.
Live View
I was originally attracted to the D90s live view mode, which allow you to use the screen...

Review of Nikon D90
Advantages: easy to use - quality of product -speed - just cracking! better than canon or nikon 50 Disadvantages: Price but then SLR digital cameras are all dear! No memory card included
...I purchased my camera just before the summer in anticipation of a trip to Venice - a photographer's paradise. Having compared the available digital SLRs it was so apparent to me that the NIKON D70S was by far superior in many respects. The size of the camera means that you can hold it without fear of it dropping or slipping out of your hand - I found other cameras too small. The feel exudes quality - there are no flimsy bits, the lens supplied (nikon) is a top quality lens - not a budget version found on the cheaper d50 or on the canon 350d.
The speed of functions is stunning compared to my previous digital camera (pseudo SLR Olympus) - formatting of memeory card is done in a flash, readyness of integral flash is very fast and write speed to memory card is also very quick, even with a slow er version of the compact flash card.

Review of Nikon D70s
Advantages: Light, fluffy entertainment Disadvantages: Very contrived
...Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster) is what?s known as the perfect score, meaning that she has all the perfect attributes to be a secret agent. To determine this, all students sit their SATS and hidden in them is a secret test measuring their ability to lie, cheat, fight and kill. Along with Max (Meagan Good), Dominique and Janet they make up the D.E.B.S (discipline, energy, beauty and strength).
When the D.E.B.S hear of an old nemesis?s return they are summoned by their boss (Michael Clarke Duncan) to hunt down master criminal Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster) and bring her to justice. While staking out a restaurant where they think Lucy Diamond will be, they stumble across her blind date with a Russian assassin, the Russian turns out to be a girl. When Lucy bumps into Amy she should have been killed because no one has ever fought Lucy Diamond...

Review of D.E.B.S. (DVD)
Advantages: Solid, professional class images; fast Disadvantages: Not overly simple to use; small LCD screen; auto settings can disappoint
...No questioning the Nikon quality..it's robust and solid like it's reputation but not the best buy in it's class for the amateur. I should state at this stage that I'm no professional although I do use the camera to back up my magazine articles so I hope you'll find my views useful.
The D70s is fast and produces great images but you need a good understanding of light and exposure to get the best out of it. To this end I would recommend weaning yourself off the automatic functions as soon as possible. I use the camera with a DX AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm for general use and back it up with a 55-200mm for more precise work. One downside of the first lens is that you do get some vignetting at the widest angle - especially with a filter. The camera uses a D lens mount so will take a wide range of other manufacturer lenses. The camera offers...

Review of Nikon D70s
Advantages: Huge zoom, Focus Tracking, Easy to use Disadvantages: Bulky, A little slow, AA batteries are a bit inconvenient
...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered.
The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too.
The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed.
There are 14 preset scenes to choose from, each setting the camera to its optimum settings for the given scenario, but on top of this, the camera can be used...
...I am very disappointed in Samsung that they could release a phone on the Market with so many faults.
I brought this phone for my girlfriend as a birthday present but it only last 9 months before it started going wrong.
Sometimes while using the camera the picture will just disappear and be replace by loads of different colour lines running down the screen.
Also if she slides the phone open up the screen sometimes goes completely white and the phone can't then be turned off. she has to remove the battery and put it back in and even then when she turns the phone on the screen sometimes appears white. I have researched this issue on the internet and it appears to be quite a common problem with the D800.
At one point i found loads of these being sold on Ebay as faulty.
Other things I don't like about it is you can't assign your own...

Review of Samsung SGH D800
Advantages: Small and Light weight. Disadvantages: None.
...can send videos and images to your friends (and strangers) for FREE.
Music on this phone is a clear and quality sound, you can either pay £5 for a ring tone that sounds like a load of beeps from a 1980s computer, or you can use this phone and download MP3 files to the phone from almost any computer and the quality is great.
To buy brand new on pay as you go with no contract you are looking at around £250, as I said above I get this phone at £16 per month on an 18 month contract, with 250 free text messages and 900 minutes off peak to virtually any network. I use my phone every day at least once an hour for a minute at a time minimum, but I have never paid any more than £60 for a month's bill. My usual bill is around about £20 per month. Any more than 250 text messages cost me 12p per text and 36p for a multi media message.

Review of Samsung SGH D500
Advantages: Great lyrics, good music, brilliant sleeve Disadvantages: Too many skit's
...When i first heard the name of D-12 in Eminems Marshall Mathers LP i began to wonder who exactly this group were. So i did a little bit of legwork and discovered that they were a group which Eminem was a part of before he shot to fame.
Then, when i recently heard of their album realease in the UK i decided to purchase it as soon as i could. When i first listened to the album i was quite sceptical as to whether or not it could reach the same levels as the Marshall Mathers LP. However, my fears were soon laid to rest when i listened to the album for a second time. The UK single realeases 'I'll s**t on you' and 'purple hills(pills)' are both present on the album making it a worthy purchase if you liked those two songs.
But these are not the only two songs which will make the lyrics of D-12 be as hotly debated as Eminems. The small...
